3:00 p.m., 36 that's dropping down from a high of 38. 6:00 p.m. back below the freezing mark and blustery. when i step back inside we'll look at the weekend it's mainly good news. >> reporter: it's cold out there, and we don't have much to complain about as far as the traffic. this is i-95 approaching cottman , southbound building at cottman and girard. the vine street expressway, no problems between i-95 and the schuylkill expressway. 422 eastbound traffic heading toward king of prussia. i warned you about the construction and traffic stoppage they were doing overnight. that's all cleared. one issue that's out there, it's a big one in bethlehem, north hampton county, a sinkhole that was large enough to swallow a utility truck. stick to washington street to avoid the problem there, matt.

>> that's our breaking story, karen, a broken water main set off a series of problems in the lehigh valley overnight a sinkhole opened up and a neighborhood had to evacuate. katherine scott is along the scene on hampton road in bethlehem township. >> reporter: that's right, matt, more than 30 residents had to evacuate last night. the red cross set up a shelter for them. 80 customers are without gas. crews are working along the 1800 block of hampton, they are working on the water line and they try to restore the gas. we're hearing a lot of water service, although not all of it has been restored. i want to go to the picture, this is what crews were dealing with. a ppl truck that toppled into the sinkhole and on top of the gas main last night, that truck was removed. crews were called out for a

water main break. while crews were there, the sing hole opened up and the utility truck was swallowed by it, it was balanced only a 4-inch high pressure natural gas line. that caused an evacuation of 300-foot radius in the neighborhood. the driver of the truck was able to get out and not injured. the gas and water was shot off while the crews removed the truck from the sinkhole. the truck is gone now, but more than 80 customers are without gas, the water, as far as restoring the water, the numbers are better. local areas do not have water, but a lot of water has been restored. as far as the gas line, "action news" remains on the scene we'll let you know when we have more updates, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> developing right now, police found a woman stabbed in the kitchen of her home in chester, delaware county. doctors at the hospital could

not save her. the woman was discovered after midnight at the home of the 700 block of angle street. police are searching for her killer and the motive. new from the overnight, fire forced a home out of their home in delaware county. it happened in olden at 2:00. crews say the fire appeared to have started in the basement. everybody got out safely. penndot is sending a fleet of plows up to buffalo. there's a new concern, flooding, the temperatures are expected to warm up fast and that could trigger a meltdown. >> the buildings that are compromised, the buildings that are at risk for collapse or further collapse will be in a worse situation once that happens, bus there will be extra weight because of the rain. >> the snowfall is blamed for ten deaths and stranding dozens

customers, more than 30 homes had to evacuate, the red cross set up a shelter overnight. work is being done on hampton road in bethlehem township. they are making inspections. they are making repairs. the chain of events led to this, the back of a ppl truck getting swallowed up by the sinkhole, but the problem didn't end there. that truck landed on a gas main. the driver was not injured. let's go to new video we have the truck after it was pulled out of the sinkhole. it had to be a careful operation so more damage wasn't done. it started with a water main break on the 1800 block of hampton. while crews were here, a sinkhole opened up, the utility truck sunk. the truck was balanced on top of a 4-inch high pressure natural gas line. that caused the evacuation of a 300-foot radius. there was no gas leak, the evacuation was a precaution. the gas and water was shut off

while the crews tried to remove the truck. gas is shut off for more than 08 customers and there's no word yet on when that service will be restored. we're live in bethlehem township, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> thank you for that. and new this morning, police are trying to figure out if someone started a house fire in torresdale on purpose. the action cam was on the 8600 block of roles lane around 2:30. fire crews were able to get the flames under control quickly, but they say they found an accelerant they think was cruised to speed up the fire. nobody was hurt. >> 6:34, the town of tabernacle , new jersey is copying with a violent tragedy, a young boy and girl were shot to death, the mother and other son were shot and fighting for their lives in the hospital. the action cam was outside the school in tabernacle.

last night people gathered to pray. an adult discovered the victims in the bedroom of the home and called 911. "action news" spoke to the long time friend a friend of the mother identified as jeaninne lepage. >> her kids were like my own kids. i can't believe it's happened. >> now, police say they are not looking for any suspects in the homicide, but they will not say who they think pulled the trigger and why. nine people lived in the home on holy drive all are related. our coverage of the tragic story in tabernacle continues online, we have the most up-to-date information including video reports and pictures from the scene. >> a man pulled off a robbery in west oak lane, but ran into a security guard with run. the thief tried to hold up the rite aid on stenton avenue.

but the guard shot him multiple times. the suspect is in critical condition. president obama explained to the nation how and why he will take executive action to stop almost 5 million illegal immigrants from being deported. immigration activists waived american flags outside the white house while the president made a televised addressed inside. if people register with the government, pass a background check and pay taxes they can get work permits and avoid deportation for three years. he said the steps he is taking does not grant citizenship or the right to stay here, only congress can do that, a direct challenge to those who oppose his plan. >> those members of congress who challenge making our immigration better, i have one

hour. we have an accident at lyndon avenue at vester lane. 29 degrees is the high temperature, it's cold out there today, matt. >> yet another woman has come forward to accuse bill cosby of rape. her story is similar to the others. she said cosby drugged her with pills and assaulted her. she said the assault happened in 1976 in las vegas after cosby performed there. cosby has not commented on the allegations. he performed in the bahamas last night. temple university said cosby will keep his post on the school's board of trustees. from our delaware newsroom, raging flames destroyed a house in wilmington. the action cam was on 5th an jefferson avenue where the fire started last night. massive flames were shooting out of the empty 3 story buildings. firefighters were worried there might have been squatters inside, but didn't find anyone.
