forecast. >> a van and car collided on i-95 causing the car to spin into the guardrail. the driver of the van was not injured, but the driver of the car was taken to christiana hospital. the crash happened south of route 41 in the newport area. it caused delays on i-95 southbound and i-295, as well. meantime, millions of americans are returning home after the long holiday weekend. the airlines, roads and rails are bustling today. and joins us live at -- annie mccormick joins us live at philadelphia international airport on today's busy travel day. annie? >> and eva and nydia, the weather forecast that chris gave us is one of several factors that is kicking off the travel day to a good start. look at the line behind me, things are picking up around noon as people head out, the busiest we saw so far today was around 6:00 a.m. 4-year-old angelina liked this

cyber monday. more and more people are turning to the internet to get their shopping done and steeper discounts are expected this year. meanwhile, it appears that thanksgiving took a bite out of black friday sales, shopper track said $9 billion was spent on friday, 7% decrease from last year, that maybe because more stores open the day before on thanksgiving, sales from thursday are up 24%. many holiday shoppers went local in support of small business saturday. special deals were offered by the mom and pop stores, it was started four years ago as a campaign by american express to rejuvenate the local economy. it's become an tradition. >> i was pleasantly surprised to come down the street and see so many people on the streets. >> most of the owners live

within five miles of main street, the money that you are spending here, they will eat at the restaurants next-door to the store, they are spending the money locally and supporting local nonprofits and community groups. >> there are 23 million small businesses across the u.s. sales on small business saturday over the past two years have surpassed $5 billion. police have found a body of an apparent shooting victim on the west philadelphia street. police got a call early this morning of a man found lying in the street. investigators say the man in his 50s or 60s was pronounced at the scene he has a what investigators say was a bullet wound of the neck. an autopsy will determine the cause of death. investigators are calling the death suspicious. >> police are renewing their search for missing west chester university student shane montgomery. he has not been seen since early in the morning on thanksgiving day when he was out with friends. police are comb be the waters in

killer who gunned down a man during a party at a philadelphia home. the action cam was at the scene the 2900 block of edgely street in strawberry mansion section of the city. officers say at 2:30 someone shot a man in the head. it happened inside the -- happened in the alley outside the house. police have made no arrests. police have arrested a man in connection with an early morning robbery and shooting in north philadelphia. the action cam was at the scene west allegheny avenue and north 7th street. the investigators say the victim, a 36-year-old man was walking on the street at 2:20 when a gunman and woman stopped him and demanded money. the gunman opened fire wounding the victim in the leg. the police say they have nabbed the gunman. the victim is in the hospital in stable condition. the woman is on the loose. a car driven by a woman

in tuesday morning. from now until then we're talking about milder temperatures 60 degrees by monday afternoon. 53 dewpoint, 34. winds out of the south southwest. you can see where there's snow on the ground. that's where the colder numbers are. 39 in allentown. there's snow cover there. poconos 38. you get down toward the coastal plain and temperatures are much, much milder. 57 in dover, millville, 53. sea isle city, 52. only the boardwalk in atlantic city, 52 degrees. the satellite and radar we were hoping to get the cloud cover out of here, but it's hanging tough. looks like from this point on we'll go mostly cloudy skies throughout the duration of the afternoon. if you're traveling it's nice and quite across the lower 48. the only areas that is seeing moisture is pacific northwest and southern california. otherwise it's nice and quiet with a combination of sun and

clouds throughout the high plains and deep south. temperatures are colder up to the north. 2 in busy mark, 69 in st. louis, and 70 in memphis. another shot of arctic air diving across the county, but this is acting differently, we explained this this morning, over the last several weeks these shots fell to the gulf and pushed east. this is pushing east, it will skirt the u.s./canadian border, we'll be grazed by this come tuesday afternoon. by wednesday, we're back in the 50s, one and done day of cold weather and then we moderate. everybody is green, that means no reported delays. minneapolis, everything on time. same thing with chicago and dallas. the only area seeing issues, san francisco reporting heavy rains, same things with oakland, reno switching over to snow and there's snowflakes flying across the higher terrains of nevada

avalon 52. satellite and radar showing a lot of cloud cover out there this afternoon. had we had full sunshine the numbers would have been 3 or 4 degrees warmer than what you saw. nonetheless feels great out here, but could have been warmer. if you like the warm weather we're shooting for a high of 55 today. look at monday, look what happens tomorrow, we'll see clouds out here, but with the winds strengthening out of the south/southwest. high temperatures close in on 60 degrees, some locations across south jersey and delaware wouldn't surprise me if you're a degree or two warmer than that. the overall pattern for the next two weeks looks mild. looks like we'll bottle up all the arctic air to the north, that means a flat west to east flow across the countries. pacific air will dominate the pattern and temperatures in the 50s, there will be a couple of cold days thrown in there now until then. the overall pattern looks mild. we'll talk about that when i step back inside and we'll have another look at the travel forecast next.

anytime anywhere. search teams have resumed efforts to find a missing west chester university student. the action cam was in manayunk as divers searched the canal. "action news" reporter, kenneth moten has the details. >> reporter: police are still looking, police are asking neighbors to check their alleyways as so many ask where's shane. saturday night it was supposed to be a planned lighting in manayunk. instead the community held a vigil and lit candles and prayed for shane montgomery. >> you keep praying and people open up their hearts it's unbelievable this community. >> family and friends and concerned neighbors stood at canal view park across the

street from killdares on main street. the 21-year-old left the business around 1n foot. he never made it. >> when you see people come out people you don't know, is just support that's what you need at this time. >> reporter: evening mass st. john baptist catholic church was dedicated to shane. this place of worship has turned into the command center for the intense search. hundreds of volunteers packed the church saturday morning before hitting the street while the marine unit searched the manayunk canal. a nonprofit has been helping focus on this section of the city. >> it's not expanding there's no reason to believe that he went far from the area. the cell phone was pinged in the area. >> like so many others, one of shane's best friends is trying to remain optimistic. >> i pray everything is safe

recently was a man charged with dumping paint and insulation, motor oil and shingles at a wildlife management area. fines range from $250 to $1,500. nine penn state trustees elected by alumni demanded access to the documents used to create the freeh report that address the the school's handling of the child sex abuse complaint. the group said the board has a responsibility to review the material and verify the sources of criticism in the 2012 report by former fbi director louie freeh. >> there are confess this morning about what led to a shooting by a police officer in germantown this weekend. the suspect was shot in the next at 8:30 on the unit block of west leaguer street. he is in stable condition at einstein hospital. threats no details why the officer discharged his weapon.

a grand jury in new york city is close to winding up their investigation into the killing of an and armed man. they looking at the choke hold death of eric garner. the new york police officer seen on amateur video taken in july wrapping his arm around garner's neck. the officer's name is daniel pantleo, garner had asthma. he is heard saying i can't breathe. authorities are expected to announce before the end of the year, whether he will face criminal charges. >> barren wilson's lawyer said today that wilson resign from his job as a ferguson police officer after learning of threats of violence against other officers in the police department. grand jury declined to indict him in the shooting death of michael brown. that ignited protests in ferguson and across the country

over the last couple of days. as we go live on sky 6. we'll go down to penns landing, look at the river rink. nydia would say it's a nice mild day to be outside, me, i had like it to be cold. temperatures are on the mild side, you can see the zanboni clearing the ice. it's nice for the ice skaters, they don't have to worry about the harsh winds. wilmington, 5s. dover, 57. nice and mild down there. sea isle city, 52. and allentown, 39 degrees. poconos 38. trenton, 48. look at these numbers, we're more than 20 degrees warmer than this time yesterday. the mild air is starting to flood the region now, as the warm front is sitting up here, this will continue to pull to the north, eventually all that pacific air will race on in. now you go a little bit farther to the west, the nfl football game of the week is green bay

new england that's where the leading edge of the cold air is right now. temperatures are bone-chilling out there. we're looking at a warmup today and tomorrow and then some of the colder air starts to work back into the weather pattern again. travel days we don't have any up and down the eastern seaboard, or farther to the west or south. what we're watching is this cold front here, so later this afternoon, again this front will continue to march east, it's nice and mild you can see the southerly winds ahead of it. temperatures are up in the 50s and 60s. as we set it in motion, we get this tomorrow morning, that's the cold front knocking on the door. winds ahead of it are out southwest. it's nice and mild, we'll see highs around 60 degrees, maybe a degree or two milder than that. as the cold front pushes through it will sweep through around 5 or 6:00 p.m. watch the winds they shift. it will start to funeral in the

cold arctic air. tuesday we'll have arctic weather, but only for one day. future tracker 6 we get into tomorrow morning, we start out with a sliver of sun, clouds on the increase. here comes the cold front we'll see showers develop along it. 6:00, 7:00 we'll see showers moving in southwest to northeast. but it's rain. tuesday morning that's when the cold air starts working into the pattern. some of the rain could change over to wet snowflakes. temperatures are expected to be above freezing. so if this does happen, more than likely nothing will be sticking to the roads or even grassy surfaces. don't be surprised if you see with it snowflakes out there. looking at some of the long range forecast looks like the first two weeks of december, that is what we have been seeing the jet stream looking something like this, the cold air dropping into the gulf. what we'll see is a jet stream that will like this with pacific
