showers moving in from the west. this is a cold front associated with the weather, it will give us a few spotty showers later this afternoon. future tracker 6 advancing this in the afternoon. we'll see showers here and there, and sticking with this at times a few showers moving off the coastline at this point, not a lot of rain today. the big news i think is the mild temperatures. noon, high of 62. 3:00 p.m., developing down to 59. 6:00 p.m -- dropping down to 59. 6:00 p.m., 650, it doesn't last, matt. >> reporter: we have abnormalities on the traffic front we don't like this morning. we have a crash in mount laurel, burlington county, the southbound lanes of the new jersey turnpike by exit 4 at route 73. the crash is off to the left shoulder, traffic is getting by

with speeds in the mid 60s. that's not such a huge issue. this is a much bigger issue on the vine street expressway, eastbound side, multi-vehicle accidents emergency crews have arrived on the scene. when we looked at a shot last time around, no emergency crews were there. if you're coming into the city, i would stick with the river drives, take the river drives into the parkway and from there get to the eastbound side of the vine and head toward i-95. looking at a couple of house fire, there's one in franconia township, and firebombing that katherine has been telling us about in germantown at colter street. you can use church or penn or cheltenham avenue as alternates around that situation. tam i know you have more details on what's going on there. >> indeed we do, thank you, matt. it's our breaking news, a family

escaped overnight firebombing at that house in germantown. let's go over to katherine scott live at the scene gathering details. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam, i did speak to a man who was inside the home when this happened. he said there were 8 family members inside including two children, a 3-year-old and 1-year-old, he said they are okay, everybody is okay, but obviously a bit shaken up this morning after this all happened. fire crews have taped off the intersection on the unit block of colter street in germantown while the investigation is underway. the fire broke out at 3:45 a.m. the resident tells me they were all asleep when he heard a boom and fire alarm. he went to investigate and said there were two canisters burning on the front porch. they try to to put the fire out with water, but they couldn't. they ran out the back door and grabbed a fire extinguisher and extinguished the fire, but the fire spread to the about the same time. he said this is the second time

this happened to them. the last time someone tried to set their door on fire, they don't know why they are being targeted. >> they are trying to set my house on fire, for what? we don't even know the people, it's like ghosts we trying to find and they trying to find. >> reporter: katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> thank you, katherine. we're following a developing story, as well, the on going search for gunman or gunmen who fired shots at police in delaware county overnight. the action cam was near west nate ellis drive and west 1th street in -- 12th street in chester township. philadelphia and state police aided in the search. nobody was shot, and no gunman has been found. now to the search for shane montgomery in manayunk. the fbi have joined in the

home, and tied up the victim and stole his bike. he answered the door and was pushed inside by a man with a gun. the man duct taped the victim and roadway on his bike. >> red light cameras in new jersey are about to face stop signs. the five year pilot program will send. lawmakers will have to revive the program. governor governor chris christie chris said he will not sign any bill that renew the cameras. members of the saint louis rams made it clear where they stood on the ferguson debate. they held up their hands on the field in a clear sign of protest in the grand jury's decision to

59 degrees and 6:00 p.m., 52 degrees, so our temperatures staying way above average today. in fact a good 1 degrees above average with lots of clouds still allowing the southwesterly flow to bring the temperatures much higher than they would normally be. the record is 72. we're not breaking any records today. tomorrow we're talking about a bit of a wintery mix moving in. i've advance this to show 5:00 a.m., we start with light precipitation, it's going to be cold enough in spots, you may see sleet pellets mixing in. the better chance to seep the precipitation going would be late morning into early afternoon hours, at 10:00 a.m., we'll see rain through much of the region. i was checking the temperature profile, even in philadelphia, it is expected to be above freezing. we're watching wet snowflakes to mix in but not accumulating.

scene and the two left lanes are blocked coming off the schuylkill expressway and getting on the eastbound side of 676, just the right lane kind of squeezing by, you can see. that's the on-ramp, westbound side of eastbound 76 that's getting by okay. you're seeing slowing on the schuylkill expressway itself, eastbound side. him let's pull in the commuter report and the waze app, speeds 19 miles per hour from past montgomery drive into the accident scene on the vine eastbound off the schuylkill expressway. you want to think alternates. i would use the river drives this morning, take them into eakens oval and from there get on the vine street expressway and get to i-95. now would you get suburban with me. we're watching a house fire on middle park drive and along long champ drive.

drought-stricken southern california is getting rain and a lot of it. scattered showers caused a rock slide on the pacific coast highway that stranded two cars, but both drivers walked away. heavy rain is expected in the los angeles area tomorrow. we have new information about the lava flow on hawaii's big island. officials say it is advancing 275 yards per day. has been flowing since june 27. the village road is reopened but motorists are under to drive carefully. the surrounding communities are warned of smoke. >> a family escapes a firebombing and they say this is not the first time it happened. a live update on the investigation at 6:00 a.m.
