4:31 am
good morning. >> good morning, and we're starting with such a change from yesterday where we had near record temperatures. today we have a winter weather advisory and for lancaster county this starts at 10:00 a.m. but watching it until 10:00 p.m. here for areas including reading, allentown and mount pocono where you're going to see snow and sleet changeover to rain. we already have some precipitation through the area and satellite 6 and action radar showing a lot of cloud cover and at this point we're seeing what's mostly rain move through. it's very light in the areas that may be getting a little bit of sleeting as well. how about those temperatures? we're above freezing in the lehigh valley but just barely so. 34 degrees. it's 35 in reading but just 25 in mount pocono. so you see the temperature spread. 39 degrees in philadelphia. temperatures about 15 degrees cooler than they were at this point yesterday. it's 38 in millville but milder where you'll get just rain along the boardwalk. 40 degrees currently. and as we look at future tracker 6 and kind of advance this a little bit we can see through 9:30 in the morning rain and maybe a little sleet
4:32 am
mixing in, in and out through the region. at 11:30 we have a mixed precipitation in philadelphia and some snowfall in the northwest suburbs that will change over to rain so continuing to watch this at 2:30 in the afternoon. you have to go up to allentown and north, i think that's the best chance to see more concerns with sort of slippery conditions would be up there. remember the road surfaces are well above freezing where we had temperatures well into the 60's yesterday so a lot more on the forecast in coming up in just a few minutes. matt. >> i know i'm feeling concerned for later on today, karen, but this morning things are looking good. mostly dry around the region as we look live. in fact, it was so dry they decided to do overnight construction on this ramp from girard avenue to the eastbound lanes of the schuylkill expressway. construction crews have cleared out and there's no traffic on the ramp here by the zoo right now, either. we had so many problems yesterday morning on 76 itself. this morning everything is nice and clear with speeds in the 50's and upper 40's there westbound by south street. no issues either on 95 or the roosevelt boulevard. traffic's moving well so far

this morning. there's a work zone to watch out for on 76, the pennsylvania turnpike. westbound direction about 3 miles west of the downingtown interchange, they're taking out the right lane there. out here in the devon area we had construction scheduled last night where 202, 422 and the schuylkill all come together. they canceled that construction because of the rain early last evening. at this point everything is dry, no construction so you're sitting pretty as you travel through this area of chester county and if you're using our good buddy ben, ben franklin bridge this morning, so far so good with no restrictions on this tuesday. matt. >> thank you you matt. let's begin with a developing story. flames poured out of the windows of this north philadelphia row home leaving one person hurt. the fast moving fire broke out along the 2900 block of north 24th street at 1:00 a.m. the action cam caught fire crews battling the blaze on the first and second floors of the house. it took fire crews about 15 minutes to get the fire under control. no word on the victim's condition. investigators are still working to try and figure out
4:34 am
what started the fire. and developing right now, a young man who was struck by a hit and run driver in west philadelphia spent the night fighting for his life. it happened at 59th and market streets at 9:00 last night. police say a volvo station wagon ran him down as he crossed the street. the driver and the striking vehicle are still nowhere to be found making the story worse, police do not know who the victim is and no relatives have come forward. for now, he is a john doe patient at the hospital of the university of pennsylvania. >> bill cosby has cut ties with his alma mater temple university. the comedian has resigned from the university's board of trustees. more than a dozen women have come forward accusing cosby of sexual misconduct. several women saying cosby drugged them and then raped them. his attorney has repeatedly denied these claims and cosby has not been charged. temple's board president says cosby didn't want to be a distraction. cosby holds 2 degrees from temple.
