wagon. they have identified the victim. now they want the driver. it is tuesday night the big story on "action news" tonight is progress in the probe into last night's hit-and-run. the lawmen have found the volvo station wagon. and kenneth moton is live where the victim is in critical condition. kenneth. >>reporter:jim, this victim was a john doe a mystery man for much of the day. tonight the sources say that the investigators are not getting cooperation from the owner from the suspected hit-and-run vehicle. tonight only "action news" was there as the police towed the silver volvo into their impound lot. it obtained exclusively slamming into a car in west philadelphia at about 9:00 at night.

we will show the people running towards him but not the accident. they helped but the male driver of that volvo didn't slow down. the accident investigators received an anonymous tip that led them to south cecil street. they spotted the volvo with front end damage and a broken windshield we could see for ourselves. her daughter and son also use her car. the police got a search warrant and took it in to examine it for evidence. the victim suffered traumatic injuries to his head and chest. he was identified this evening. he had no id. they are still trying to track down a relative. and that is why the police have not released the name of the victim. no arrests.

the police feel like they are closing in on this hit-and-run driver. kenneth moton, "channel~6 action news." a developing story here. tonight the bill cosby scandal went from an issue of his reputation to one that now requires a legal defense. a southern california woman is now suing cosby claiming that the comedian forced her to perform a sex act when she was 15 years old. judith huth says that it happened in the bedroom of a playboy mansion in 1974. it's the first sexual abuse charge that he has faced in a decade. amid the mounting sexual assault allegations against him. they talked about the split from his alma mater. >> as he said my issues are
