torture. >> mary bruce joins us from washington with more. >> reporter: while these practices are largely known, it's the details, the graphic nature of this report that is said to be so shocking. u.s. embassies around the world on high alert, bracing for the release of an explosive top secret report on the use of torture by the cia. >> this will, in fact, incite violence. it's likely to cost someone their life. >> reporter: u.s. officials fearing the backlash. some questioning whether the report should be made public at all. >> the concern is over our military forces, our diplomats, particularly in areas of hot spots. >> reporter: the 6,000-page senate report is said to be very graphic about the methods used in the dark days after 9/11. >> we tortured some folks. we did some things that are

released the next day. u.s. officials said they had no idea was in the works when they attempted to rescue american luke somers and the teacher pierre korkie. an american teacher stabbed to death at an abu dhabi mall was held last night. her ex-husband, pictured here with the children describe ryan as a beautiful person with a pure heart. she was killed in what officials call a lone wolf attack by a woman who also placed a bomb at the home of an american doctor. rolling stone magazine has revised its apology. at first editors revealed that found discrepancies in a report by the document. they felt their trust was misplaced. they removed the line about

misplaced trust. they say the miss takes of the reporting was there. a doctor who contracted ebola has gone public with his ordeal. he kept his identity a secret to protection his family. he was the sickest patient to be treated at emory hospital. he was on dialysis for 24 days. he's going public to thank emory for the life-saving care. investigators say it started when a car hit a bear crossing the road northwest of ft. lauderdale. a second car stopped to help. a third car plowed into the other cars. a spokesman for the tribe says it's the first collision involving a bear in memory. the typhoon battering the philippines is weakening but is not over yet. dangerous mudslides a threat.
