chad? >> reporter: rick this fire broke out before 3:00 a.m., joyce craig lewis and three of her fellow firefighters were the first to go into that dwelling it doesn't look like one of the worst fires we have seen but will go down as one of the most tragic in this city as joyce lewis craig lost her life. they said it was like walking down a chimney with the fire in the basement. the commander decided to pull back and go in at another location. >> they realized that firefighter lewis craig was missing and they went to search for her and were not able to get her out before she passed. >> a decorated 11 year veteran with the philadelphia fire department. one of 150 women serving in the fire department, who put on the uniform each and every day.

west and that helps to drain down colder air and into the day on wednesday. checking out the current wind speeds, sustained from 9 miles per hour in reading and 14 in philadelphia, the wind direction is no longer in the northeast but north-northwest. that means we have colder air along the way tonight and tomorrow. a winter storm warning with the cold air in place, we have that up through carbon and monroe counties, changing to wet snow, that is what is to come with the colder air on the way. meteorologist, cecily tynan, has more on that. >> that is exactly right, as expected this was a rain storm and not a snow storm, we have a tight gradient of totals, areas west of wilmington, you didn't see much rain at all less thank an inch, and i-95 corridor an inch to inch and a half. but the target zone across south jersey where they got 2 to 3

but lbi is not the only place dealing with flooding, we were in atlantic city where they are dealing with this nor'easter too. that is the assessment of officials in atlantic city. it's no surprise when you watch the surf slamming into the boardwalk of atlantic avenue, it was destroyed during sandy and still taking a beating. >> you can see the water but not the waves like you can today. the waves are really big, i can't even believe that. we have extremely high tides and 6 to 10 foot surf and flooding in the usual areas in atlantic city. this is what it looked like in fairmount, california, this morning, streets were swamped and this bus flooded out when it tried to plow through too much water and water rose up the steps of homes in one spot. >> the rain was coming down hard
