lets begin with cecily at the big board. >> hi rick and monica, stormtracker 6 live double scan showing the heavy, steady rain we had overnight and earlier this morning is out of here and we are getting the affects from the round of showers through the overnight and evening. this is raining now, in pottsville and the poconos. this is rotating in from the north and west as the storm system pulls away and pulling down cooler air and some of us will see snow showers. a view of stormtracker 6 live double scan showing the center of the storm system is northeast of new jersey and south of long island, this was a warm storm, to see accumulating snow have you to go to new england and boston and even dealing with heavy rain. albany, new york, this is a rain event.

great news for the jersey shore, now with winds out of the northwest, the ocean is not getting piled up on the shore causing the coastal flooding. millville 12 miles per hour winds and they are diminishing but they are pulling down cool air. a winter advisory is now until tomorrow evening, we are looking at the possibility of 2 to 5 inches of heavy, wet snow in the poconos and this is a rain event and how much you got depends on your location, for more on that lets head to melissa magee. >> we got a big soaking in south jersey, as we look at the rainfall totals. this is where we had a good drencher, from lakehurst to wildwood, where we saw 2 to 3 inches of rainfall, from the i-95 corridor, we saw an inch, inch and a half, and just to the south of allentown, if you were

there you got less than an inch of precipitation. the heaviest of that rain was chads worth, pomona, and westward into vineland. as we look at the peak wind gusts that was another big issues gusting as high as 30 miles per hour and a gust as high as 44 miles per hour in wildwood but tuckerton and harvey cedars, wind gusts in the lower 50s at the height of this nor'easter now pushing off to the north and east. early tonight showers stick around and staying dreary and windy and later tonight into wednesday we are tracking rain and wet snow showers and the accumulating snow with the winter weather advisory is up through the poconos, cecily tynan is back and has more on the progression of this storm. >> thank you melissa. lets switch live now to david henry, who is live with the

minor to moderate flooding that residents received today. >> reporter: the rain stopped earlier than expected and so did the flooding, this is west avenue behind me right now, a busy road in ocean city, it was covered with water a couple of hours ago but the water has receded and gone with it a threat that caused a sleepless night for a lot of people around here. >> we live on the bay back there and it kept coming closer and closer and closer. >> it crept closer and stopped short of what is considered major flooding this is moderate flooding typical of a nor'easter, this one had the potential for major damage like the one that hit on veterans day five years ago. but it hit during low tide not high tide. >> it taper of this morning before the high tide event and it looks like a lot of the heavy

rain stayed offshore and we got lucky in that aspect. a few major roads in west avenue were covered in water but not enough to stop traffic entirely. it lapped almost entirely to this car and topping this fire hydrant but a pair of high water was all it took. the beaches took a pounding from high surf and long time residents have seen a lot worse than this and were relieved this didn't live up to its full potential. mike kept a watch of his gauge. >> sometime its comes up to the top of the bulk heads, but it was less than a foot from going over, when that goes over it's bad. >> the water never went over the

engine 54 where craig-lewis works with more on the investigation into this tragedy. >> she died this morning once again charging into harm's way, doing her job, in this case a basement fire, one of the most dangerous fires that can be found in an urban setting as people try to fight basement fires in residents. >> this is joyce craig-lewis, a 11 year firefighter the mother of a teenage boy and 16-month-old girl. she died fighting a blaze that started in the basement. they ordered the first responders to get out of the smokey dark basement and they scrambled to safety but craig-lewis did not make it. >> they realized that firefighter craig-lewis was missing and they went back to search for her but were not able

to get her out before she passed. >> she was working voluntary overtime when she was called to middleton street last night and flags were hung on her locker today. they called her able, courageous and hard working and they are not permitted to talk on camera. >> she loved her job and was a highly trained firefighter and served in some of the busiest stations in our city serving the residents. >> she was the first female firefighter to die during the line of duty. >> typically when they go into the station they are accepted as an equal with open arms. craig-lewis's equipment was gathered up and they are looking to see if everything was working, including her personal

newton is in the hospital after being involved in a vehicle crash in north carolina near the panther stadium. much of the roof appeared to be caved in, the 25-year-old was in the truck when it collided with another car. the charlotte observer postd this photo of newton shortly after the crash. despite the doctors saying he has two fractures in his back and no words on when newton might return to action. doctors say it actually takes 4 to 6 weeks to heal and the qb is currently in the hospital and officials plan to keep him overnight for observation. >> okay. thank you sharrie. health check tonight, the ebola outbreak continues into west africa, and other areas are getting worse. ali gorman is at the big board with details. sierra leone has overtalk enbabeleer yeah with ebola

cases. in western sierra leone and eastern parts of guinea, officials say that treatment centers are opening in sierra leone, and they need trained staff. about 70% of patients are dying there. and that toll includes ten doctors and 6200 people have died in west africa so far. also, even though the flu vaccine is not a good match forever the strain of the virus this year it can offer protection against other strains and prevent severe illness, a new study shows that when it comes to kids, overall the flu shot helps, in 2008 doctors changed the recommendation for all kids over 6 to get the shot. the number of kids that get admitted to the hospital for flu went down. we call it the happiest time of the year but for many people

flooding and a little snow is in our forecast and melissa magee is at the big board with a first look at double scan radar. >> the heaviest of that rainfall is moving off to the north and east and stormtracker 6 live double scan is tracking the area of low pressure off the coast of central new jersey to the south of long island and it's north of this area of low pressure moving across areas of new england but you get the wrap around moisture shifting out of the northwest. earlier today in the coastal communes during the height of the storm, winds with peaking as high as 45 miles per hours in 46 in beach haven and 24 miles per hour there in atlantic city. as we look at the air porlt delays it's probably going to be a big issue tonight. it's a little bit wet if are you catching a flight on the tarmac,

airlines left her job today following an incident involving a badge of nuts. she was on a flight when the first class flight attendant served her macadamia nuts, they were served in a bag and not a plate, it out rained cho so much she ordered the plane back to the hangar, she was overseeing service and the daughter of the airline's ceo. today is the last full day of the british couple's tour of the united states, they are a big attraction everywhere they have gone and today stops on their tour may have been the most touching. this morning the duke and duchess of cambridge walked in the rain to visit the 9/11 memorial and museum. they paid respects and kate left flowers and a hand written note at one of the reflection pools.

in a car accident earlier today. it took place at 12:30 near the stadium, his black pickup was overturned and the other driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries. a photograph showed the quarterback smiling as he was attended to by an officer. they still have a shot at at playoffs despite their record. and now the flyers are playing the blue jackets hoping to continue some moment up after their win in los angeles. the blue jackets almost having the same record as the flyers have won three straight and craig berube knows they are in for a challenge. >> they are aggressive and work extremely hard and strong in net, they will give you a tough game. a lot of pressure everywhere, and you know, goalies are
