dramatic turning of the page between the united states and cuba, a prisoner swap between the two currents are signalling a plan, that for the first time since the cuban revolution in 1961 it would likely see the opening of embassies in each country and an easing of economic restrictions that the u.s. has in place against cuba. and it would need congressional approv approval. the trigger was the release of american, alan gross, today who spent five years in a cuban prison. the u.s. is returning three prisoners held in prison here. after the bay of pigs fiasco and the cuban missile crisis it led to years of isolation. >> this 50 years have shown that

campus this week. >> they told us on the loud speaker there would be a lockdown and they made us wait a whole hour and a half, to tell us it was pretty serious, we'll be in here for a while. >> some students and teachers were on the laptop looking at stuff reported on the internet. >> this morning a student saw another student with a gun and they showed a picture to administrators and they locked down the school. >> s.w.a.t. came in and looked in everybody's bags. >> the school was locked down monday afternoon and no gun was foun found. an 18 was taken into -- there were no bullets in the gun. we have metal detectors in the school but there are ways to get in the school beyond the front

after crossing the street to get to her school bus, the 18-year-old driver of the striking suv is in custody at that hour. walter perez is live now in bensalem and bridge road where a vigil is underway. >> reporter: that is right, here is a live look at the vigil at the corner where the accident happened. witnesses tell police that the lights were flashing and the security arm was extended but now an 18-year-old is accused of ignoring or not seeing the warnings and killing a 16-year-old girl in the process. >> people that loved 16-year-old minet zeka -- >> i loved her and she was too young. >> "action news" was there when members of her family gathered at the very spot she was killed. it was here at 6:45 this morning

when the bensalem high school sophomore was crossing when she was hit getting her bus, the man driving this suv hit the victim before coming to a stop. formal charges have not been filed at least not yet. >> don't know what he was thinking, disregarding a school bus there is no explanation or excuse for that, if charges are warranted, he will pay the price. >> the school superintendant says that the district will consider making changes to this bus stop in the wake of this tragedy. >> some things we are looking at is changing bus routes and we look at that regularly, safety is our number one concern danielle says it was zeka that likely saved her last year from

the roof. they were both arrested and investigators are trying to determine if they are linked to other burglaries at other targets stores in the last month. a montgomery county doctor is arrests for allegedly running a pill mill from his office in media. chad pradelli is live now in media. >> reporter: jim, the arrest of dr. lawrence wean culminates an investigation, they made the bust it was recently created to deal with the addiction crisis in the county. >> this is nothing more than a pill mill. >> delaware county detectives raided the doctor's practice in baltimore pike. they called it a junky jackpot for the addicts.

there is new information tonight in the investigation into the montgomery county murder spree that claimed the lives of six people, "action news" learn that authorities don't know how bradley stone died. it was first thoutd that he died from a cutting or slashing wound and now it turns out he just had a small injury to his leg but they found two medicine botdles near his body and a powderly substance on an energy drink can and toxicology tests are pending, next to him was found a machete and double edged axe.

the wilmington police department are showing off their crime fighting tool. a drone to capture video and audio from crime scenes, it was not previously available to prosecutors at trial. >> it gives us a dimension and perspective was not available to the jury. >> the drone can deploy in less than 5 minutes and it cost the department less than $2,000 and requires 8 to 10 hours of training before an officer can use it. governor elect, tom wolf, says the state has a big problem. a $2 billion deficit that is getting bigger every day. he held a news conference at the center city library today. he says the state is spending more than they are taking in and fixing the problem could require innovative solutions.

and the current windchill feels like 40 in philadelphia and 39 in millville and 40 in sea isle city and 30 in lancaster and 35 in reading and allentown. satellite 6 along with action radar showing the snow across northern maine, that is low pressure spinning. the temperatures will be a seasonal 44 degrees, factor in the winds, windchills in the afternoon will be in the mid-30s, it's going to be a cool and blustery day. heading into friday low pressure builds in and sunshine and seasonable. with the high pressure getting closer to us, the winds will not be a factor until friday. friday is looking nice, the same time on friday, low pressure is developing across texas and gathering moisture from the gulf of mexico. and this low pressure is tracking east and i want to show
