>> good morning, it is 5:30, december 20, here's some of the stories we're following on "action news." developing right now, philadelphia police are questioning several people in the beating of a man. wilmington police investigate the latest shooting to plague that city. the birds prepare for a big game in washington. meteorologist source -- chris sowers joins us with the accuweather forecast.

>> reporter: let's go live on sky 6, weather wise it's going to be chilly. if you don't like the cold, you have to bundle up. we have temperatures in the 20s and 30s this morning. when you look at the numbers, even though it's chilly out there this morning, the numbers are not that bad when you think about the normal. philadelphia normal low is 28 degrees. we're sitting at 34. millville, 29. reading, 32, allentown, 31. a cooler number in the poconos, 23. windchill 24. trenton, 26. millville, 23 and 27 degrees in sea isle city this morning. that's the feels-like temperatures. satellite and radar shows cloud cover out there this morning, we'll see tons of it this morning, we're expecting mostly cloudy skies from start to finish. a few peeks of sunshine, but the general rule will be lots of clouds, chilly 38 degrees for the forecasted high today.

it's chilly right now, it will stay chilly today, we're talking about 60s by christmas eve. we'll talk about the rain for christmas morning when we come back in just a bit. >> developing this morning, a young man is found dead in an alley. philadelphia homicide detectives are questioning four people about the man's death. four claim the man tried to get into their home on the 6100 morocco of vandyke street. three men in the home saw him trying to get in the back alley. they approached the man, what happened next it is being sorted out. by the time the police and medics arrived, the man was unresponseive. a man was shot in the chest, the gunfire broke out around 10:30 last night. police are searching for the shooter. no word on the motive. wilmington is on the brink of an all-time homicide rate.

take a look at this missing man, 69-year-old harld hurd was last sin in his home on north 8th street. he was wearing a white and black suit and gray tie. else missing two fingers on his right hand. fun where he is contact police. a bucks county man is facing legal trouble for making a false report for the search for bradley stone this week. authorities say that report wasted a lot of resources and frayed nerves. annie mccormick has the details. >> reporter: the district attorney said 34-year-old luke sanderlin caused panic in the community and cost taxpayers money because he saw a dangerous suspect in the midst of a

manhunt. luke sanderlin said he saw bradley stone bucks county authorities say it took manpower away from montgomery county and hospitals and neighborhoods were put on lockdown. >> it cost an enormous amount of and he knows, anguish anxiety. >> reporter: sanderlin was walking his dog saying that ton approached him demanding vehicle it is dog shot him and he fired off three shots. the motive financial gain for a medical condition. >> the crimes gave him the opportunity for something else

my own kid unattended for 15, 20 minutes. >> the man called police, police have not released the name of the day care provider. she faces two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. >> jerry sandusky will not be getting his state pension. the rye retirement system issued a 122 page decision denying sandusky the right to get his pension. his lawyer plans to appeal the decision in a lawsuit. this is never before seen security video of ray rice and his then fiance after he unknocked her. you can see she is protected by hotel security. as they shared the elevator to the escort, be she appears to

little bit of moisture here. most of the country is quiet. won't stay that way next week. we have a sizable storm on the way. bismarck, 15. chilly in dallas, 46. new orleans, 51, jacksonville, 52 and atlanta, 43. that system we showed you on the satellite and radar. that high will hold the system at bay and force it down to the sought. it's a chilly day, lots of clouds, but we are precipitation free. the high works to the south and forces the frontal system to the south. we'll see cloud cover tomorrow, peeks of sunshine, on monday, this high begins to retreat which allows this to come back to the north. monday we'll start out with clouds we'll see milder temperatures move in and maybe a period of rain late in the day that will lead to a much larger system, christmas eve.

organization announced a mardi gras parade next year. >> it will be a family focused celebration with all the music music and pageantry. the mummers association has been hit hard financially largely due to the economic slump. >> we'll be having corporate sponsor and online contributions and collections and we hope to raise a significant amount of money for the mummers. mummers will march along the manayunk main street and retail restaurant corridor. the parade will kick off at intersection of green lane and main street on the morning of february 22 at 10:00 and will end around noon at lock street. the hope is the parade will keep the mummers tradition alive. >> when you lose your tradition, you lose your identity. this is our identity.
