him today we'll be at 38. lunchtime, 35. there's our high 38 and 6:00 p.m., back to 35. we have not one, but two storm systems across upstate new york, it promises to be a big mess to the delaware valley christmas eve. >> today is super-storm sandy and experts say it could be the biggest shopping day of the year even bigger than black friday because christmas falls in the middle of the week. millions of last minute holiday gift buyers have one final weekend to get their shopping completed. sales are expected for ten billion dollars, nearly a billion more than black friday sales and the stores are ready for the shoppers. some have their doors open around the clock to accommodate all the last-minute shoppers. a warning for you shoppers, though, this morning, the weekend and days leading up to christmas. police in cherry hill say they

called way overdue. different kind of demonstrations compared to those held recently in mayor fair people took to the street not to protest, but to support them. donald garvey is the main organizer the. >> we don't want to focus on bad cops and racist cops we're here for 99%. >> reporter: hundreds turned out with signs and posters and strong opinions. >> we're here because we want to be heard. we draw the line, respect our police. >> reporter: all ages taking a moment to thank the men and women in uniform for all they do. >> they do so much more and sometimes they don't understand how much that means to our city. >> reporter: there have been hundreds of demonstrations across the country in protest of law enforcement following the deaths of several black men at

the hands of police officers, but organizers here say this rally is not in response to any of that. it's a neighborhood of mayfair and our friends getting together letting the neighborhood police know the community backs them. >> reporter: philadelphia police stood watch insuring everything went well. even though the flocks was in their honor, they came here to do their job. >> they have a viewpoint just like the protesters we've been dealing with the past few weeks have their viewpoint. both groups have a right to express their views and we're here to insure there's no property damage and no one gets hurt. >> reporter: in conjunction with the rally, dozens of toys were collected for the children at chop police saying this was a peaceful demonstration. mayfair, sharrie williams channel 6 "action news." >> a woman is fighting for her life after being run over by her own suv at a philadelphia

community center. chopper 6 was over the scene in somerton. the 46-year-old woman was picking up her children when she got out of the vehicle and it began to roll. she tried to stop it and was knocked over and trapped underneath. her chest was crushed. she is in critical condition at aria torresdale hospital. a fundcer in the find shane montgomery fund if you want like to take part it's starts on main street. the birds face the washington redskins. they took care of desean jackson early in the season, but a win today gives dallas the nfc east

quick-moving storm system that will work off the coast of the caroline analysis and out to see -- carolinas and out to see. the frontal system attached to this area of low pressure will stall in the eastern united states. another system stalls along that boundary, another system comes in from the west, the two combine and we have a big mess on christmas eve. temperatures, if you're traveling out of philadelphia international today, heading to the north, obvious it's cold. even down to the south it's chilly, but it will warm up this afternoon. the surface maps this high will force the storm off the coast. it's a dry day today. the high sits over top us of tomorrow. it's chilly, but dry. monday conditions begin to deteriorate. the high loses its grip and pulls to the north. milder conditions flood the region and rains pull into the area late in the day.

now. lots of cloud cover locally more clouds approaching from the southwest, it promises to be a cloudy day, a few peeks of sunshine from time to time. 32 degrees, mostly cloudy, lunchtime, 35. 3:00 p.m., 38. big game for the eagles down in washington, d.c. taking on the redskins. kickoff temperature, 39. 4th quarter 35, dry with a light breeze. eva? >> philadelphia police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in an alley. four people are being questioned in connection with the death. the four claim the man was trying to get into their home on the 6100 block of vandyke street. they men in the home approached the man exactly what happened next is being sorted out. by the time authorities arrived the man was lying dead in the alley. more gunfire in wilmington.

this time a man was shot in the chest. medics were working to revive him as they took him to the hospital. the gunfire broke out on north spruce street around 10:30 p.m. police are searching for the shooter. no word on the motive. wilmington is on the brink of an all time homicide rate. take a look at this missing man, police say 69-year-old harold hurd was last seen in october on north 8th street. a family member reported him miss this week. he was last seen wearing a white and black suit and gray tie. else missing two fingers on his right hand. if you know where he is, contact police. a man was arrested for making a false report in the search for bradley stone. authorities say the report wasted resources and frayed

nerves. annie mccormick has the details. >> reporter: district attorney said 34 luke sanderlin caused panic in the community and caused taxpayers a lot of money all because he spotted a dangerous fugitive in the midst of a manhunt. luke sanderlin has been place under arrest for diverting agency away from montgomery where they've stone was hiding totonington apartment complex and forced neighborhoods into lockdown. sanderlin said he was walking his dog and stone approached him demanding the keys to his vehicle. he claims his dog bit stone and
