they are being interviewed by investigators here. what investigators are going to have to do is establish who was driving the truck early this morning. this afternoon a sharp eyed bristol borough sergeant spotted this 1990's red ram pickup truck in the 500 block of bath street. fresh damage to the right front and side was clearly evident. bristol township police say this is the vehicle that left deep ruts in this lawn before it slammed into this levittown home overnight and then sped off. >> a radio crawl bristol borough p police that he located the vehicle at 550 vance street. it's definitely the vehicle. >> reporter: the red truck slammed into the back bedroom of the house about three:30 a.m. inside elderly terminally ill jenny russo was on hospice care. her son rushed to her. >> i go back there and see the

dresser drawer leaned over ready to fall on top her and there was cold air coming in, there was a gaping hole right into the wall. had to get that cold air to stop so i picked her up, put her into my bedroom which is the next room over so there was warmth in there. >> reporter: her son says she was frail, only 58 pounds. firefighters moved her bed into the warmer living room. her son thinks those moves may have hasten heard passing. >> we moved her twice. it was too much for her. >> reporter: the bucks countytor said that the d.a.'s office is in consultation with the coroner. well, her family says miss russo had lived a long active life though she had recently become ill. december. is her birthday. she turned 93 today.

john rawlins channel6 "action news." >> a school bus driver went to the hospital this afternoon after crashing into a pole. happened on the roosevelt boulevard extension in tioga nicetown just before 1:30. the driver said wires from the bus caused him to lose control and hit the pole near wissahickon avenue. he went to temple hospital with second degree burns. there were 23 high school students on the bus. everyone is okay. the crash blocked two lanes of traffic. >> a worker was killed at a delaware landfill today after he was hit by a piece of equipment. chopper 6 hd was overt cherry hill -- cherry island landfill on east 12th street in wilmington. that is where the contractor was killed just before 12:30 this afternoon. police have not told us the victim's name but they say he was between 20 and 30 years old. hundreds of police officers paid respects to officer rafael ramos, one of two new york city patrolmen assassinate in there his cruiser. his cass at the time arrived casket arrived for awake in

afternoon. we have high pressure in control so with in high overhead much of the delaware and lehigh valleys we've got a mostly sunny sky overhead turning clear for the rest of the afternoon. we've got you covered with that evening planner. 7 o'clock this evening that temperature around 45 degrees. that is still above our normal high for this time of year. it's mostly clear at 8 o'clock tonight, 43. 42 is average fort us. we'll hit that at 9 o'clock. 10 o'clock we'll drop down forty one here's the call from accuweather as we press forward and look at the weekend call. on saturday plenty of sunshine, it's sunny and mild, above average, up to 55 degrees. and once we get into sunday, clouds will roll in and as we get into the sector half of the weekend we're track something changes. lots of clouds move in with the threat some of showers and a high temperature then of 50 degrees. so, the weekend not too bad, a bit of a 50-50. once that front moves through as we get into sunday a dose of reality on the way next week. we'll talk about those details with the full and exclusive accuweather forecast.

sale. >> reporter: over at cherry hill mall the first stores opened at 7:00 a.m. retailers were expecting crowds after what they describe as a solid holiday shopping season so far. >> the 26th of december has now become one of the busiest shopping dates year. there was a time where it was dedicated for returns. now it's become a very affect tiff day for shoppers. >> reporter: discounts were posted, price still slashed, merchandise ready to move off the shelves to make way for next season's gear. and shoppers were tempted. >> i got my shoes. don't tell my husband. >> reporter: but for many there were still returns and exchanges left to make and they wanted to get in the door before everybody else. >> we don't want to deal with people. >> the crowds, exactly. get out early, you know, a lot of returns today so figure get in, get out. >> reporter: for a lot of shoppers we spoke with they wanted to come out today and get their errands today because they're ready for this holiday shopping season to do you mean a close and maybe start getting rest for next year. in wynnefield heights,

the fbi believes this man is that behind six bank robberies in philadelphia in the past two weeks and he struck again today. investigators say he tried to hold up the wells fargo branch on north 52nd street at 11:00 this morning. they think he also robbed the pnc branch on north broad street on tuesday and four other banks between today and december 11th. no one was hurt in any of the crimes. there is a possible reward for tips that lead to his capture. >> well, the florida developer who wants to buy the revel casino hotel in atlantic city now wants a discount. lawyers for glen straub said this week the property should be sold for $8 million less than what he bid at auction. straub was the runner up but ended up in line to buy revel after the winning bidder backed out. straub said he would only bid $90 million if he knew that. so he wants a judge to honor that bid then deduct a $3 million break up fee because revel is keeping the original bidder's $11 million

yesterday just sony originally planned. now the company is dealing with a new problem. play station network went down on christmas day just as users were trying to power up new gift. microsoft xbox also went down. the hacking group lizard squad claims responsibility for the problems. >> they did what happens every day. there's a thing called denial of service where you basically overwell the servers -- overwell the servers. people could not get on line. >> there's no indication the gaming problems are connected to the major hack of sony. that attack almost caused the movie studios to pull "the interview" from theaters. it decided to release the movie yesterday after all in about 300 movie theaters brought in about a million dollars at the box office. >> russian president vladimir putin has canceled christmas. russia does not celebrate christmas until january 7th but putin canceled holiday

vacations for cabinet members. he says the government cannot afford an extended holiday. russia's economy has been in a downward spiral this year. putin says u.s. sanctions are one factor for that but denies they are the primary cause. former president george h.w. bush is still in the hospital after experiencing shortness of breath. bush was admitted to their hospital on tuesday and spent christmas there. a family spokesperson says the 90-year-old is in great spirits but will stay in the hospital just as a precaution. bush suffers from a form of parkinson's that has forced him to reel lie -- rely on a scooter. but he's gone sky diving including a jump for his 90th birthday as seen here back in june. >> to business now and it was a light day of trading with the markets up. the dow gained 23 and a half points. the nasdaq rose 33 and change. the s & p was up almost seven. switzerland's second largest bank is favoring a

concorde township delco along cheney road at glen view road f you're headed towards the concorde mall speeds are in the 30's as you sit through those traffic lights. we have a crash in cheltenham along washington lane at shoppers lane appropriate today there by the home depot and the target. no huge delays at this point. some heavy traffic in spots but no huge delays on the schuylkill. 95 getting a few northbound slow speeds there by the betsy ross bridge and southbound through the work zone at girard, 27 miles per hour. we also have a downed pole that we're watching in berlin camden county. it's along the white horse pike at tansboro road by the rite-aid and pnc taking out the right lane so you can squeeze by. if you're adding mass transit patter company on a modified weekday schedule same with septa buses. let's go to the ipad commuter report on this friday. if you head out to the outlets at limerick things look pretty good but beyond that reports of a minor crash along 422 westbound not too far away from sanatoga.

we'll check it again rick and shirleen in the next half hour. >> matt we'll see you then. thank you. a pennsylvania couple is thinking that 3's this holiday season they welcomed triplets born three months early. courtney went into labor on saturday. she was in labor until christmas day when she finally delivered two girls an boy. all three babies are completely healthy despite being premature. now after almost a week in hershey medical center the couple says they're just anxious to go home. >> i'm excited. i just want to get them home after courtney had them for so long, carrying them around i just want to get them home and have her home since they're healthy. >> the couple already has two other kids. meaning they will get to meet their older siblings when they get home. >> a music star dealing with major hack. what madonna fans are asking fans to do after her album leaked on line. >> meet the men behind a special delivery.

city skyline, plenty of sunshine overhead and fairly mild temperatures. in fact, check out these numbers. this is december? certainly doesn't feel like it. christmas eve had a high temperature of 64 degrees but we also had all of that moisture to deal with as well. where across the region we picked up anywhere from three-quarters of an inch to more than an inch and a half of rainfall. yesterday for christmas day we had a high temperature of 65 degrees but it's a little deceiving. that was reached a little bit after midnight. most of the day yesterday we had temperatures in the 50's and so far today in philadelphia coming in at 50 degrees. still above average. normal for this time of year is 42 degrees. outside this afternoon still in the upper 40's to about 50 there in wilmington. on the 95 corridor in trenton 48. up in the poconos not bad at this hour, 42. 46 in lancaster. along the coast from sea isle city temperatures are also holding at 48 degrees. we'll widen out the temperature profile because everyone across the eastern half of the u.s. is certainly feeling that warmth. it's 53 in cincinnati, 58 in

raleigh, 55 memphis, 49 in chicago but you can definitely see that colder air off to our north and west just the teens right now in bismarck, north dakota, sitting at 18 degrees there. 33 in omaha and 41 in wichita. where you have that division of warmer a your to the east and cooler air off to the north and west we're also tracking a cold front so you could see the beginnings of that front starting to get its act together out across portions of the great lakes down to the midwest. we'll be tracking that frontal boundary as it works its way eastward for the second half of our weekend. so future tracker 6 showing to get things started tomorrow and even as we get into the afternoon hours plenty of sunshine overhead with high pressure in control. as we get into the day on sunday however 8 o'clock in the morning things cloud up fairly quickly across much of the delaware and lehigh valleys. a little bit of wet weather moving off across areas north and west of town but you could see as we get into noon on sunday, you might need the wet weather gear because we will be tracking some light showers. i think the day starts out cloudy and dry and then as we get into the afternoon hours

we'll be tracking that moisture that will move in from the west-east direction but we're not expecting a whole lot of precipitation with this but it will cool our temperatures down for the second half of our weekend. the call from accuweather for the rest of tonight, mostly clear, chilly but not bad. 30 in allentown, forty four philadelphia. typically our overnight low sits around twenty eight so we're still above average tonight. 35 in cape may for the low, 32 in dover for the overnight low and 29 degrees will be the overnight low tonight in lancaster. here's the four day at 4:00 showing you saturday not bad. get out and enjoy it. mostly sunny and mild, high temperature of 55 degrees. and on sunday lots of clouds around, a high temperature of 50. then we'll be tracking showers by the afternoon and on on sunday and then monday shower early. then we start to clear out. much cooler, 40. then it's back to reality on tuesday, brisk and cold, a high temperature then, guys of 38 degrees but enjoy the start of the week. it looks good. >> sure will. it looks good. >> thank you melissa. members of the coast guard reunited with families today for the first time in two months.

>> it is time now for the buzz and as we mentioned earlier, people across america finally got a chance to see "the interview" this week. but the premiere was especially popular in los angeles. that is because codirectors seth rogen and evan goldberg made a surprise appearance. the two stopped by a soldout screening yesterday to thank the theater for showing the film and to thank the audience for showing up.

"action news" reporter eva pilgrim is live outside hahnemann hospital with more on the special delivery and our favorite story of the day, eve say. shirleen, that baby born on a septa el strain and it was two police officers that brought him into the world today. those officers came here to hahnemann to officially meet the little boy. two septa transit officers helped make a special therefore on christmas day. today they wanted to meet the bundle of joy they helped bring into the world. >> we just came down, we thought it would be nice to bring the newborn baby a little miracle baby some presents reporter: last night the sergeants helped deliver a baby on the market frankford el train. another passenger on the train captured the whole thing on his cell phone. the mother was traveling east on the train when the baby decided he couldn't wait. today the two officers came to hahnemann hospital to bring the mom and baby a stuffed

train along with other gifts from septa to celebrate his birth. >> got tearful, it d the mom, all she could say to us was -- she said i remember you. >> really good to see the healthy. >> reporter: the baby's name chris for the day he was born. at the hospital staff ran up to pose for pictures with the hero cops. they say they were just doing their jobs. >> it's just a good reminder especially for the public that it's not always just bad that you're going to be dealing with us. we'll be here to help you and get that sense of community policing back. >> something i'll never forget. >> reporter: it's a moment these two plan to keep throws close to their heart. >> my daughter. >> i hope to keep in contact. i would like to seat baby grow. >> reporter: mom and baby chris are both doing just fine here at hahnemann. they are hopeful they will get to go home soon. we're live here in center city, eva pilgrim, channel6 "action news." >> great story. thank you, eve v our coverage of the special delivery

continues on 6abc.com. we have posted viewer video that captured the moment the little boy was born as well as pictures from the hospital as the office visited with mother and son. it's all right there on 6abc.com. >> well, the mayor of paulsboro new jersey is accused of driving while intoxicated. mayor w. jeffrey hamilton was arrested last week during a traffic stop. he was pulled over after an anonymous 911 call for an erratic driver on paulsboro road in woolwich township. police say he failed a field sobriety test. he's served as the mayor of paulsboro since 2012. police are lining two men to nine robberies around the strawberry mansion section of philadelphia. they robbed the b and r grocery store on the 2600 block of north 23rd street. they got away with money after threatening a clerk with a gun. investigators think they've held up eight other small convenience stores throughout the same community in recent weeks.

philadelphia police are asking anyone with information to give them a call. >> the big apple was a sea of blue today as members of the nypd paid their respects to officer rafael ramos, one of two new york's finest killed in the line of duty last weekend. as abc's susan saulny explains his wake comes as tensions remain high. she's live in washington, d.c. susan. >> reporter: good afternoon shirleen. thousands of people are preparing for a solemn weekend of remembrance in new york. police honor guard carried officer ramos' casket into a queens church for his wake and thousands lined up outside to get a chance to pay their respects. he was one of two policemen ambushed and executed in brooklyn last weekend by a troubled man with a grudge against police. funeral arrangements for the other slain officer wenjan liu will be finalized once his family arrives from lynam killings ramped up emotions in

the already tense national debate over police conduct. new york city police are investigating what appears to be a disturbing new trend, a wave of serious threats against police officers. authorities are looking into at least 40 cases of people threatening even more violence. there have already been at least seven arrests. in one case, a man was overheard at a bank saying they should have killed two white cops not a hispanic cop and an asian. he allegedly was overheard saying he would kill a white cop before that christmas. at his home police removed two guns an set of brass knuckles. ed mullins is with the new york city police's sergeant's union. >> i have 33 years in the nypd, bon and raised in the/. -- city of new york. >> reporter: with the family of went january through -- wenjan liu behind him he asked for donations. giuliani said he spoke with

liu's family who explains that his son was the family's sole survivor. >> he was afraid they were going to be thrown out of their house. >> police officers are arriving from all over the country to attend officer ramos' funeral tomorrow. vice president joe biden is also expected to attend. reporting live in washington, susan saulny channel6 "action news. shirleen. >> thank you susan. in atlantic city hundreds of police officers and supporters rallied at boardwalk hall to remember the lives of officers ramos and liu. the crowd paused for a moment of silence after several speakers took to the stage t the crowd marched down the boardwalk. speakers said their event was designed to thank those officers for their sacrifice and others for their service. >> well, police are looking for the thief who stole a family's christmas presents while they were at church. someone broke into this locked shed where the jacobs' kept their gifts behind their home in berks county. the culprit took two of the most expensive presents

store in mount laurel new jersey. someone alerted them after seeing her picture on "action news." her family and police asked for help locating her last night when she failed to show up for a christmas celebration in gilbertsville. it is not clear how she got to new jersey but we do know she has been reunited with her family. check of the forecast. melissa magee is here now and we hit 60, 65 yesterday. >> yeah. >> still mild today, though, hm. >> yeah, it's mild and we hit 65 a little after midnight. most of the day though it was still mild for christmas day. temperatures were in the 50's and we're still comfortable outside right now. it's 49 degrees in philadelphia, 47 in allentown, 50 in wilmington. 48 degrees currently in beach haven along the coast in sea isle city also in the upper 40's, 47 there. westward into dover 49. you look at the sustained wind speeds. it's not bad. sustained from 3 miles per hour in beach haven up to 9 miles in philadelphia but look at the wind particles, those green little specs on your screen, coming from a

philadelphia the high temperature coming in at 50 degrees. that's well above average. average for this time of year is 42 degrees so 8 degrees above that. the record 68 set back in 1964. outside this afternoon 49 in philadelphia. 42 up in the poconos, 48 in trenton along the coast in beach haven coming in at 46 degrees. sea isle city 47 degrees, allentown the lehigh valley coming in at 47. so here's satellite 6 along with action radar you can see we have high pressure in control so plenty of sunshine ahead for much of the afternoon and it stays partly clear and partly cloudy for the rest of the night even as we get into the evening hours here's the setup for us on our saturday as we look ahead. high pressure situate to do our south. as we get into the day on saturday we'll tap into a west to southwesterly wind which means our temperatures will stay nice and mild. we'll max out in the city coming in around 52 degrees. but there's a cold front off to our west and with that cold front on the move you could see it moves right across the delaware and lehigh valleys as we get into sunday and with that we do have some some wet

weather that we are tracking. so future tracker 6 has you covered. as you get into sunday morning it's mostly cloudy with those showers off to our north and west. and as we get into noontime, 12:30 in the afternoon on sunday you could see some showers overspreading much of the delaware and lehigh valleys but it doesn't look like a lot of precipitation that will be on the way as we get into sunday. the call from accuweather for the rest of tonight mostly clear, chill, 34 in the city, 30 in the suburbs north and west of town with that southwesterly wind. here's the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast. mostly sunny, mild tomorrow, up to 55 degrees. well above average once again. on zinn lots of clouds around, a high temperature coming in at 50 degrees so still above average on sunday but we will be tracking that front that moves through late in the day so some rain is likely late sunday and then on monday you could see we'll get much colder by then, a high temperature of 50 degrees. showers will be around but early in the day on monday probably clearing out after eight, 9 o'clock in the morning then we've got some breaks of sunshine after that.
