police officer and he was he is a hero. >> steps of thousands of police officers turn out today to pay tribute to officer rafael ramos. he was laid to rest a week after being gunned down inside his patrol car. he was remembered as devoted father, husband and of course, a hero. saturday night and the big story on action in news is emotional farewell to slain new york city police officer. the funeral for rafael ramos took place in queens inside a church where the father of two served as usher. ramos was remembered for dedication to his family, job and faith. "action news" reporter kenneth moton joins us live in the satellite september were more kenneth. >> walter, officer ramos was called a peace maker and a dedicated public servant. it was extraordinary show of solidarity as one of new york city's finest was laid to rest.

>> they marched to the same beat their heart heavy with grief as they honored new york city police officer rafael ramos. >> he represented men and women of the new york city police department. he was the embodiment of our motto faithful, unto death. >> outside christ tabernacle a sea of law enforcement from coast to coast. brothers and sitters in blue. and inside a somber ceremony where a host of local leaders and dignitaries spoke about the public servant that was gunned down last week next to his partner liu. the shooter had a hatred for police and later killed himself. >> when an assassin's bullet targeted to officers it targeted the city and touched the soul of the entire nation. ramos a 40-year-old husband and father of two was a deeply religious man who was studying to be a police chaplain. >> he did not just have a bible in his locker.

where thousands of police officers gathered to watch the service and then turn their backs as new york city mayor bill deblaseo spoke. officers are angry over what they see as deblaseo support of recent cop killings. it was show of solidarity showing officers including philadelphia. annie mccormick has that part of the story. >> if queens new york an estimated 25,000 men and fwhem blue stood to honor fallen nypd officer rafael ramos hours before the 10 a.m. service police officers from our area traveled to show their respingts including philadelphia police who took two buses at the pop lodge in the northeast. >> if anything were to happen to one of us we would expect the same thing. >> whether we're philadelphia police department nypd or lapd all brothers and sisters in blue. >> members of the bensalem open or guard placed the back band

dog got loose from ownerch the dog goon attack the officer's dog and when he tried to separate the two he was bitten. the officer then shot and killed the attacking dog. the officer's dog suffered severe injuries and no further information has been released. investigators are serving for cause of a fast-moving fire that ended with a man seriously injured in hunting park. it happened before 4 p.m. on the 4400 block of north 8th street. it took firefighters 15 minutes get this under control. but 25-year-old dimitrius gordon was rushed to temple university hospital where he's being treated for serious burns to his hands and face. >> a follow up tonight to a hit-and-run in bristol bucks county earlier yesterday. medical examiner says 93-year-old jenry russo died of natural causes not from the crash it self. yesterday morning a truck slammed into russo's home and fled the scene. the coroner report stated russo did not endure any form of physical trauma she was in

francis and vatican officials denied that request. >> good news for former president george h.w. bush his doctors say he's improved so much they expect to discharge him from the hospital sometime soon. mr. bush was type houston methodist hospital tuesday night after experiencing shortsness of breath. a statement from his office says he'll remain in the hospital through the weekend as a precaution. >> daughters of former virginia governor bob mcdonald's says one spern to plame for his downfall their mother. the daughters wrote a scathing letter to the jm saying her materiallism and mental health issues are to blame. mcdonald's and his wife were convicted of using governor office to promote a dmp exchange for lavish gifts and loans and their daughters say the mother has always been preoccupied with getting freebies and discounts. a mall in western pennsylvania was forced to shut down early yesterday after several fights broke out involving teenagers. a shopper at the monroeville mall captured the scene on camera phone.

we have that winter warmth overhead and high temperature in atlantic city today coming in at 59 deagrees and 57 for the high in philadelphia and that's a good 15 degrees above average and 57 as well today in reading allentown and lehigh valley. 56. high temperature today in dover coming in at 54. and outside tonight 42 in philadelphia is that the our typical average high for this time of year. and 42 in trenton and 44 in the poconos and nice southwesterly wind coming in ahead of the front annual boundary an tracking 41 dover and currently sea isle city coming in at 46. here's satellite 6 along with action radar and plenty of sunshine earlier today and sun giving way to increasing clouds from new england all the way down auto cross the mid-atlantic region off to the west you can see moisture. takes cold front. weak cold front moving across the great lakes and ohio valley. this moisture works its way east ward as we get to sundays and we'll time out the precipitation for you. but here's a setup. it's damp and mild and you have an early shower north and west as this front arrives from a

west to east direction sean then it stays cloudy for most of the day. high temperature 52. and that's a good ten above average and then we are tracking light afternoon off and on rain showers. future tracker 6 showing you mostly cloudy tomorrow morning and you notice around 6:00 in the morning there could be light showers north and west. noontime maybe a -- here on there otherwise mostly cloudy. this is a long duration storm storm and not a lot of precipitation with. it as we get into the evening hours light showers once again pick up along that 95 corridor and areas south and east and then the moisture slowly pushes offshore as we get into monday morning. and a lot of that confined for philadelphia and areas south. the call from accuweather for the rest of tonight. clouds continue to increase. mild night, dropping down to just 40 in philadelphia and 41 for the overnight low in dover and we'll drop down to upper 30s for reading and 41 for the overnight low in tom's requirement here's the exclusive accuweather forecast.
