tried to rundown a couple of cops and he smashed into the employees chief from clifton's car and the police in fear of their life fired shots and struck the individual. we know little information about the suspect, chitwood says he is a 52-year-old white male and apparently made threats against officers on youtube, that is when officers moved in on the suspect on garret road and shadeland, chitwood talked about the suspect and hit the vehicle and multiple officers opened fire and killed the suspect who is dead here in upper darby. this investigation is early in the process, trying to figure out who fired the fatal shot and what happened and tried to learn more information about this suspect who they tried to arrest at 4:30 this afternoon chad

pradelli, channel 6 "action news." >> thanks chad. it took more than three years but a suspected rapist is back in philadelphia they linked robert palin to two rapes in pennypack park in 2011, and that palin sat in a wisconsin jail for a similar crime. david henry is now live with more. >> reporter: he first had to face the charges in wisconsin where he eventually had to plead guilty and then resisted exticion in philadelphia and is here now facing charges in a series of vicious rapes. >> brutal. he is a brutal individual. >> 39-year-old robert palin is accused of attempting to kill and raped a woman he met online.

and they say he raped three women here along pennypack park, and that they were viciously brutalized before they were raped. >> he knocked them unconscious and removed their clothing and continued beating them and they had fractures and multiple facial injuries. >> that palin met all of his victims at this convenience store, just a few blocks from where he lived at the time and not far from the park, police were on the case in 2011 and after a composite sketch two women came forward and said she was assaulted in july of 2010 and another woman claiming a similar case in 2010. this past march palin was arrested in wisconsin and his information was entered into a

data base and they got a match and two victims identified him from his mugshot and the third passed away. >> palin was brought back here over the weekend and is arraigned on a number of charges and is held on $10 million bail and face a preliminary hearing in two weeks live at the special investigation unit, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you david. the montgomery county woman accused of having sex with a 17-year-old boy she met at a school function is back in court. the district attorney says she not only had sex with the teen but sent him explicit photos of herself as well. she remains free on bail. the suspects who swiped a cell fon on a train were no match for septa officials and technology septa police say that this is 18-year-old rakwan

to celebrate at broad and market streets at city hall where the mummers parade steps off this year they are putting up barricades and breachleachers and if you travel down broad work is underway for the fireworks displays. at the naval yard, this team from pyro techco is loading up a barge with fireworks these are the ingredients for two spectacular displays on the delaware river. >> both the 6:00 show and the midnight show is here on the barge, hopefully by the end of the day 95% complete. >> they promise some surprises and always keep their fingers crossed. the shows are computerized and synchronized to music. >> you hear the music and you feel relief that we are rolling.
