"action news" dann cuellar arrived open the scene 68 and wood land in the past hour and dan you have the latest. >> it's about quite a nights in southwest philadelphia on 68 near wood land and you can see behind me firefighters remain on the scene keeping an ion things. they were going through the charredry mains ever three row homes to make sure that no one was left trapped inside that does into the pier to be the case now and three people were injured in this inferno including two people, 70-year-old man and woman who had to jump for lives from second floor windows to escape the fire officials say the fire began 9:14 and quickly spread to two adjacent row homes. dispatch called for a full box that sent firefighters and equipment to get the job done and pulled a second alarm. they did not need a second alarm and put the fire under control

9:41 this evening and again three people injured. here's chief executive officer clifford gillly among that. >> at the time we understand we have two residents that jumped from the rooftop. those are two he of the three transported. >> now "action news" was at the hospital of the university of pennsylvania when the 70-year-old man was taken there by ambulance. we understand he suffered a number of burns we don't know if they broke any bones when he jumped from the window and again a woman jumped from her life from second floor window and we do not know the except of her injuries. she's also at the hospital of the university of pennsylvania tonight along with a third residents that suffered injuries from the inferno. jim the nature of the fire what caused it, all under investigation now by the fire marshalls office and no fire fooringters were injured and they do not suffer particular problems combating this fire. that's the latest from here.

i'm dann cuellar "channel 6 action news" in southwest philadelphia, monica. >> thank you dann. >> the philadelphia fire department is striving for a safer 2015 after fire fatalities rose last year. it shows more people died in fires in 2014 than any year since 2011. 32 people died in fires last year compared to 24 people in 2013. which was record low for the city. that is 33% increase. now about half the deaths occurred in properties that did not have working smoke detectors and injuries rose as well. 176 people were hurt in fires last year compared to 169 the year before. highest number since 2010. >> new jersey state police investigating a three-vehicle accident in cumberland county involving two of own. chopper6hd overhead shortly before 9 p.m. in the area of route 77 and big oak road upper deerfield township. it appears two trooper vehicles

robbery. the number of murders in camden has been cut more than in half over the last two years. crime statistics tallied for 2015 show 3 people killed in the city once called the murder capitol of usa. that number is nine times the national murder rate. but, it is a significant drop from the 67 homicides in 2012. in the year since the former city police force was resolved and replaced by new camden county police department. that freed up funds to put more officers on the street. and philadelphia police are serving for a man in connection a-er isyes of pharmacy robberies. police issued a warrant for arrest of this man 49-year-old cartel wright also kevin jones and the rite aid city avenue alone has been struck four times since march. police say wright even threatened to shoot a store employee once and that has police very concerned. it looks like as he increases frequency here he

crash on the new hampshire highway. 35 vehicles were involved in two separate pileups. one of the crashes involved a tractor-trailer truck that caught fire after another vehicle slid underneath it. authorities say there were injuries but non-life-threatening. >> recovery teams are showing grim success in vick tilingz of fights asia air 8501 somewhere still snrapd seats and wreckage has been reclaimed like window panel here. teams are battling rainy weather, strong winds and high waves. unfortunately the forecast is not expected to change until sunday. >> stormtracker 6 showing dry out there tonight. this is the camp before the storm. and it's a cold night. most areas rop dropping down into the 20s. allentown 20 trenton 29, philadelphia international airport reporting 34 degrees right now. satellite 6 and action radar tells the story. you can see the plume of moisture headed up. that low pressure will be tracking up to the west. that will track up up to the great lakes and pull in moisture primarily in form of rain. but problem though, when it moves in tomorrow morning, there will be a shallow layer of cold air at the surface and that means some of the moisture will come in the form of sleet and freezing rain. mainly this will be happening right along the pennsylvania turnpike and areas north and west. downingtown, pottstown, reading, allentown quakertown, easton, tomorrow 9:00 in the morning and lunch tlim could be frozen
