view on sky of. there is penns landing. visibility has been reduced to less than a mile. get a load of this shot. this is atlantic city. there you go, you can barely make out the tops of the casinos. we're dealing with patchy dense fog. if you're traveling take it slow keep both hands on the steering wheels and reduce your speeds take your time this morning. on top of the fall we have all this. these are the showers that are pushing through the heart of delaware valley. occasionally we start to pick up a heavier downpour. for the most of the part a lot of this is on the lighter side. early this morning we have good rains falling across south jersey. that's long gone and pulling out to sea. temperatures wise, warm front in the process of pulling through. 44 in philadelphia. 48 in millville. 351 in sea isle. atlantic city, 51. the chesapeake bay region in the

mid 50s think -- at this hour. for today rain at time, patchy fog, a lousy finish to the weekend. on the positive note we're up to 63 degrees. but this will change tomorrow. in the next 24 hours we'll go from this to actual air temperatures down into the teens in parts of the area. i'll show you how long that cold weather lasts when i come back with the full accuweather forecast. >> a new york police officer shot and killed in the line of duty will be laid to rest later this morning. police officers from across the country are in brooklyn to pay their respects to officer wenjian liu. the action cam was at the fraternal order of police headquarters where 80 off duty officers boarded two buses heading to new york city. they will attend the funeral of officer wenjian liu.

the killer took his own life after ambushing the two officers. >> law enforcement is first and foremost a brotherhood and sisterhood. whenever any of our brother or sister officers are killed in any manner, but particularly with this slaughter that happened a few weeks ago it's extremely important that we show our solidarity, not only to the citizens but more importantly to the officer's family. >> dozens of other officers from several south jersey departments left for the funeral. the man responsible for the killings for officers wenjian liu and rafael ramos stated he was seeking vengeance for the police-involved shooting of michael brown and eric carer. a man escaped injured after

he lost control of his car in maple shade. the man flipped the car and landed in a reservoir. he needed to crawl out of the car and was on top of the overturned vehicle. the man was taken to kennedy hospital in cherry hill in stable condition. police in south jersey are looking for the person who set off an explosive device in a mail box overnight. it happened on sequoia drive in cherry hill around midnight. police received the call from 911. fire crews say an explosive device was put in the mail box to blow it up. we have an update on a missing boy in delaware county. he has been found safe and sound. 10-year-old louis desmond was reported missing around 7:30.

he has been found safe this morning, he was sleeping at a friend's house. >> funeral arrangements are being made tore 21-year-old shane montgomery. his body was discovered in the schuylkill river ending an agonizing five week long search. "action news" reporter, kenneth moten has more. >> reporter: green ribbons and flyers have been a fixture in manayunk during the search for missing west chester senior shane montgomery. he has been found fully clothe in the schuylkill river saturday before noon. the cell phone on him. his grieving roxborough parents were there. today we have done what we have promised. we have found and brought shane home. we want to thank everyone for their support and prayers and love and ask they continue to pray for our family at this trying time. >> reporter: shane disappeared 40 days ago after a night out with friends thanksgiving morning. he was last seen leaving kills

dares stumbling across the bridge near the business. last month divers located his keys in the water. saturday they found him a half mile away. ten feet from the banks of the schuylkill behind manayunk brewing company. >> where he was was about waist deep. it's probably 6 7-foot not deep. just moving current. >> loved ones and their pastors and the employees of the brewing company watched as divers worked. >> we set up a watch out back and we became family with his family. we was all out back when they brought shane up it was a sad situation. >> reporter: the search is over, but the investigation into how shane died is just the beginning. police sources say there are no obviously signs to his body. those who followed the search came to the river with so many questions. >> where would he have gone, what would he have done, what really happened?

even though this part of the schuylkill had been searched divers say scouring this large river is a tedious process. the medical examiner will conduct a an autopsy to determine the cause of death. the churchy shane montgomery was a member served as ground zero for the volunteer search operation. st. john baptist felt a bitter sweet mix of relief and grief after finding the body of shane montgomery. >> i've been praying every morning they would find him for the parents. >> he is home with god and with his family and with god. >> reporter: the green ribbons that were handed out during shane's disappearance sit on the christmas tree outside the church. green was shane's favorite color. the people of manayunk

substituted the annual tree lighting for a candle light vigil during the west chester's student ps disappearance. we have more at 6abc.com along with information about vigils being organized in the day to come. a motel worker goes to check on a customer and finds a dead body. an employee found the man in the 900 block of churchman's road. the man was identified as 35-year-old matthew ornstein. it is believed he had been using propane canisters as a lighting source inside a tent he put up in the room. an autopsy will be determined -- will be performed to determine the cause of death. a blaze occurred in wilmington on summit he avenue

a salt truck slid off a slick road in allegheny county this weekend and slammed into the home. the homeowner said he was upstairs when he heard a large boom. the truck damaged one wall in the home and ended up on its side. the truck driver was not hurt. plenty of drivers needed help in the lehigh valley this weekend. a light snow fell in north

unseasonable warm. in the 60s today but 22 degrees thursday. another possible ebola paisht is heading to the -- patient is heading to the u.s. for treatment. they are expected to arrive in omaha this afternoon. the hospital plans to keep the patient in quarantine for observations. the doctor cared for three ebola patients last year, two fully recovered and a third did not survive. a british nurse who contracted the ebola virus in west africa has worsened. the she is in critical condition. she returned to the uk after volunteering in sierra leone doctors are treating her with an experimental drug and plasma from a recovering ebola patient. a warning about glass fireplace doors.

rushed to a car accident in hunting park section of the city and found they had a murder on their hands. the action cam was on the scene. 39-year-old driver was speeding and his car smashed into a parked carat 3:45. when firefighters reached him they found he had been shot once in the chest. he was pronounced at the scene. police found a bullet shell in the car. homicide detectives are trying to determine where the shooting took place and who did it. philadelphia police are looking for two systems in the murder of a limo drive who was shot in the head. it happened on delancy street in west philadelphia. police believe a passenger pulled the trigger. cash and cell phones were taken. >> one prisoner is on the run another back behind bars after both escaped from a berks county facility. he was captured before midnight.

ray martinez remains at large. they escaped by setting off a fire alarm. they got away during the confusion and made off in a waiting silver colored minivan. the search for west chester university student shane montgomery has come to a tragic end. the 21-year-old's body was found yesterday in the schuylkill. he disappeared in the early morning hours of thanksgiving day after a night out with friends in manayunk. his body was found less than a mile away. an autopsy will be performed to determine a cause of death. winter this week, finally. next week we'll be back up. there's the view at philadelphia international airport. we're seeing patchy fog, some of it is dense, atlantic city you're not able to see too much. actually you can't see anything, that's wilmington, there we go, that's what we're dealing with this morning. we have a lot of visibility issues thanks to the fog that rolled in ahead of the warm front that pulled through. once the warm front moves through the area, it sweeps the fog out of here and temperatures skyrocket. from now until then we're dealing with gray and gloomy conditions. we have a couple of showers toward central pennsylvania, york gettysburg, harrisburg reporting light rain. it's actually pulling away it will move into scranton and wilkes barre.

guys. >> the big story this morning is the final farewell to the new york city police officer who was shot and killed in the line of duty. >> police officers from our area and around the country are paying respects to wenjian liu. david henry joins us with more. >> reporter: 100 police officers left fop headquarters this morning two full buses and a dozen police cars all to pay their final respects to wenjian liu. >> it's extremely important that we show our solidarity not only to the citizens, but more importantly to the family. >> reporter: the officers boarded the buses for the trip up the new jersey turnpike to new york. dozens of new jersey officers did the same departing from belmawr around 7:30. there will be thousands of other police officers from around the country to pay their last

respects to a fallen comrade. wenjian liu and rafael ramos were assassinated in their patrol car december 20th. the funeral is being held in brooklyn this morning. thousands attended a memorial service yesterday. officers from this area has given up a sunday at home with their families to stand in the cold rape for hours. they also it's a small sacrifice compared to what the two new york officers and their families have lost. >> it's effects every one of us. we wanted to make sure we had a great showing of support not only for the new york city police department, but for the community and also the family. >> it represents the brotherhood of police, not only nationally but worldwide. it hurts all of us when one of us is fallen. we just want to go down and pay our respects. >> the flag here at fop lodge 5 headquarters flies at half staff. a reminder that two police officers paid the ultimate price

for their service to the public. live from police headquarters david henry, channel 6 "action news." >> delaware police are investigating an accident on i-495. it happened at 8:30 in claymont near the pennsylvania border. police say the driver lost control and hit a guardrail. the collision caused the vehicle to overturn and land on i-95. officials rescued the female driver from the wreckage and took her to the hospital. i-95 north is closed and i-495 is closed while police investigate the accident. a man escaped serious injury after he lost control of the car on wet roads in camden county. it happened on route 38 near mill road in maple shade. police say the man flipped the car and landed in a reservoir after he lost control. he managed to crawl out of the car and climb on top of the overturned vehicle. firefighters used a ladder to

help him off the car. the many was taken to kennedy hospital in cherry hill in stable condition. police in south jersey are looking for the person who set off an explosive device new mail box overnight. it happened on sequoia drive in cherry hill. police officers received a call about an explosion. a device was put inside the mail box and used to blow it up. videos from surveillance cameras might have caught the suspect. divers discovered the missing college student shane montgomery in the schuylkill river. he was fully clothed with his cell phone still on him. sources close to the investigation say there appears to be no signs of foul play. he disappeared after a night out with friends and went into the early morning hours of thanksgiving day. he was seen leaving kildare's
