west-east direction here is stormtracker 6 live double scan you can see light snow showers along the 95 corridor and a little activity left over down around south jersey and we go tighter on stormtracker 6 live double scan street level it's pressing towards chads worth and oceanville. as far as snowfall we were in the target area of 1 to 2 inches of snow knotting hill 1.8 wilmington 1.4 and philadelphia at the airport coming in with an inch of snowfall. future tracker 6 showing you a few flakes will be left over at 8:00 tonight but the bulk of that precipitation with the fast moving clipper system will be offshore. the steady snow continues to move from a west east direction and a few flakes for the evening commute, the big concern for the

overnight and evening hour is that temperatures stay freezing and look for icing and slick spots. it could get colder with an arctic attack on the way. cecily tynan has more on that. >> now that the steady snow is moving out our focus is on the plunging temperatures. philadelphia 23 and millville 34 and sea isle city 26 and allentown 20 and reading 21 and the poconos 14 degrees, we are talking about the temperatures so low that this snow would stick immediately however it's cold here but it's colder to our north and west, buffalo 16 and pittsburgh 18 degrees, international falls it's 0. so this arctic air is moving our way and that means that the windchills are really going to get brutal as we head to the

middle of the week, future tracker 6 showing windchills to the teens and single digits bundle up and allow extra time on the roads look at what happens wednesday night windchill dropping down to single digits 5 degrees in philadelphia and feels like 4 below in allentown and 18 degrees below in the poconos, and thursday morning is when temperatures bottom out below 0, as low as 20 degrees below zero in the poconos, the coldest air mass sin last year. wednesday night the low is 6 degrees in areas like allentown and 12 degrees at the shore. windchills below freezing and the good news is temperatures spike above freezing on friday but don't get used to it we'll talk about a cold blast on saturday in the accuweather forecast. also some snow squalls on the way tomorrow. >> thank you. even though the snow totals are not that high today we have seen some problems across the region and part of that is

because the snow hit right in the middle of the morning commute sidewalks and side streets were also slick at times today and david henry continues our team coverage live in center city with a look at the conditions today. hey david. >> reporter: hi alicia the streets and sidewalks here in center city are mostly clear of the snow and ice and there will plenty of slick spots to watch out for and it's still a big improvement over this morning's rush hour. the transportation department had salt trucks on the routes but this was south broad street at 9:30, one of the busiest routes was covered in snow and ice and another major artery spring garden street was in the same shape the city says its trucks were delayed by rush hour traffic and most streets will be

treatmented now but the side streets will not see salt at all. even though people managed to get around without much trouble at all. >> i came from the manayunk area and it was slippery but here is not bad. >> walking was dicey and sidewalks in the city were treacherous until property owners began salting, not much shoveling required with this snowfall. greg jones drove a greyhound bus many passengers giving up their cars for the day. >> that is the smart ones, you see all the accidents on 95 and everywhere it's just crazy and just a little bit of snow, it makes it worse. >> the bus was safer but who would ride a bicycle, that would by heather blakesly. >> i probably should not have rode my bike to work but i wear

much everywhere because of the slick conditions, lets bring in matt pellman for a look at the roads, hey matt. >> it's been a tricky one for sure brian and shirleen we are seeing a couple of situations this afternoon most of the highways, like this one 422 they will wet, penndot, del/dot, did a good job of treating the roads, we are watching a disabled vehicle on the westbound side of 422 and generally heavy conditions from 202 past the oaks interchange and a crash where the eastbound side vehicle ran off the roadway there. there are slick patches and once you get on the secondary roads side streets were very, very slippery. i had to allow extra time and space in which to make the stop before a stop sign or intersection. we are watching a crash at royersford at main street and

one in west bradford along poor house road, not so bad but not as bad as this morning. this is the scene in center city vine street wet and congested by the schuylkill expressway coming off the walt whitman bridge, slow because of an earlier disabled vehicle on 295 once get beyond that are you okay to 55 a crash on 55 southbound in gloucester county approaching 533 but that is out of the way but speed are less than normal. lets grab the ipad and do the commuter report on this snowy tuesday afternoon. our friends with the waze app are reporting slow speeds around the region. we'll check it again brian coming up in the next half hour. >> all right matt see you shortly. the snow did more than leave a mess on the roads it caused delays at philadelphia international airport, sky 6 hd caught this video of trains

see the front entry way propped up by 2 by 4's and the fire truck was parked 30 feet up the road in the roadway and then it began to slide. the fire truck slid into the green car and slammed into the front door, several people involved in an earlier accident had to run on foot to avoid the massive piece of metal to avoid it. >> we had to run we just moved a couple of cars out of way, we seen it coming. >> there was a total of seven cars involved and then the fire truck came down the hill. >> the fire department said the truck just slid down the top of the hill and oak street is one steep road, fire commissioner anthony wood did not make anyone available on camera he says though were fortunate nobody was
