meteorologist cecily tynan. >> jim the good news is the temperatures are warmer tomorrow and it gets colder on saturday and the worst of it was this morning the poconos were 3 degrees below 0 and atlantic city 8 and wilmington and philadelphia we dropped down to 9 degrees but the winds really told the story. the windchill in the poconos not a good morning to go skiing 23 below 0 and allentown 9 below and 11 degrees below 0 and philadelphia we dropped down to 6 degrees below 0 with the windchill. temperatures are cold and never even hit 20 degrees today. running more than 20 degrees below average, philadelphia 18 and allentown and millville 15 and reading and trenton 14 degrees the winds have diminished. we have winds generally 8 to 12 miles per hour, but it doesn't take much to create a windchill. it feels like 2 in reading.

it's certainly a cold night. the evening planner will show that temperatures will be holding steady for the next several hours around 17 degrees the wind shifts from the southwest and that brings us slightly warmer air the morning commute temperatures tomorrow will generally be in the 20s, so not nearly as brutal as today. another boundary will bring us the possibility of snow showers especially north of philadelphia, saturday the return of bitter cold and i am tracking the chance of rain or a wintry mix on monday and we'll have details on that in the full accuweather forecast. >> lets switch live to philadelphia city hall, and david henry. david how did pedestrians and many workers cope with the cold weather. they paid attention to the weather and paid dearly for it. it's just about as cold as the trip in this morning.

learned that the grand jury recommended criminal charges including perjury against attorney general, kathleen kane, she is accused of leaking information to a philadelphia newspaper with information of the former head of the naacp. her attorney says quote the attorney general did nothing wrong or illegal and there is no credible evidence that she has. the grand jury was presided over by a special prosecutors and the recommendations are handed over to attorney fuhrman. a montgomery county judge -- she is accused of setting fire

to her neighbor's home. prosecutors say that krup acted in retaliation because she believed that morris was involved in previous arrests of her son. the house was destroyed. it's a tragic situation in buck county. the search goes on for the body of 48-year-old tony gabriel who is unaccounted for after the collapse of a cement silo. it collapsed last night in the riverside industrial complex. nora muchanic is live on north radcliffe street in bristol tonight. nora -- >> reporter: emergency crews brought in lighting and plan to work through the night looking for tony gabriel and the collapse was discovered by a police officer on patrol and he thought it was snowing out but it was the cement dust being whipped up by the wind. the family is here since early in the morning and as can you imagine they are heart broken.

>> we are just basically waiting for them to find him. >> it's a harrowing ordeal for the family as they look for his brother tony after a silo collapsed last night at the riverside complex in bristol. tony gabriel works loading powdered cement into trucks he is the only worker from last night's shift that is unaccounted for. >> we made every effort to go through and search for the victim. technical rescue and local fire companies and rescue dogs, now we deemed going from a rescue effort to a recovery effort. >> this is a combination of a building collapse and what we call an engulfment scenario where as all of these hundreds of thousands of pounds of dry concrete rushed down like an avalanche and bury everything in

before noon. the chevy impala that he was driving had an ohio license that didn't match the vehicle. >> we asked him to exit the vehicle instead of doing so he tried to gun the vehicle and spun on ice and the officer draw his weapon and ordered him out again. >> he refused to comply and grabbed the officer's gun and hit the gas pedal and took the officer with him. >> his leg was run over by the car we don't believe he has a broken leg but he is bruised up. >> he was taken to the hospital while a manhunt ensued for fallins, police tracked down the vehicle to the 2400 block of napa they found the drivers side window shatters he got off one shot before being run over. a short time later the suspect was arrested around the corner and taken into custody. the officer is expected to make

we have made the point it's chilly outside but better days are ahead. not as harsh tomorrow morning as this morning. stormtracker 6 live double scan showing we are rain and snow free and could have a few snow showers moving through early tomorrow morning. today we had a good amount of sunshine and taking a look at independence national park this is a the view from third street and seeing bright blue skies and this time of year the sun angle is so low it doesn't warm us up much. the windchill was 6 degrees below 0. and not quite record breaking cold but very cold. the high was 19 degrees that is 21 below normal and 19 did not even hit our normal low for this time of year. this is unusually cold and temperatures are beginning to moderate. it's amazing with temperatures in the teens doesn't sound that bad.

allentown 15 and trenton 14 and millville 15 and reading 14 degrees the reason it doesn't feel as harsh is because the winds have slack ened off a bit. wind from the west at 6 miles per hour. and factor that in we have windchills in the single digits and teens and temperatures will be rising in the overnight hours. satellite 6 along with action radar showing a few things first these clouds over the atlantic, these are clouds created by the cold air, it's like lake-effect snow, the colder air moving over the warmer waters and clouds moving in from the west, that are rolling through tomorrow there are snow showers associated with it and we'll probably see snow showers tomorrow morning for the morning commute mainly north and west of philadelphia it could leave a quick coating not a big

system. the temperatures will moderate to 35 degrees and we briefly touch it above freezing but the windchills will be in the teens and 20s, and behind this boundary, a one day shot of bitter cold air on saturday lots of sunshine and very cold, 23 degrees, and then temperatures will be climbing into the upper 30s by sunday so it will feel a lot better. the next 12 hours partly to mostly cloudy skies and temperatures are ridesing the morning commute temperatures are in the 20s and the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, morning clouds and a few snow showers giving way to afternoon sunshine and 35 is the high and again it will be windy and windchills in the teens and 20s, on saturday we get back in the bitter cold air plenty of sunshine and the high is only 23 degrees not quite as harsh as today and sunday this will feel good 36 degrees and still cool and compare today that will
