female firefighters to die in the line of duty in the city's history. >> key discovery in the search for what happened airasia the flight that disappeared. both black boxes has been found one recovered. >> but the big story on "action news" this noon is the icy commute. for many people across the delaware and lehigh valleys. sky6 live hd is looking live at the center city skyline it's tough to make it out there but it's there beyond the clouds. it's a dreary monday and the chance of any sunshine is very limited as is visibility. let's look at the philadelphia international airport same story here, the good news the temperatures are improving this means the roads are not as dicey for commuters. earlier it was a much different scene. "action news" was along the 400 block of gay street where you could see the sidewalks icing over. penndot officials were spread across the region salting roads

to keep the icing at a minimum. we have live team coverage of the morning commute. >> we begin the team coverage with david murphy looking at accuweather at the big board. >> reporter: anyone watching the morning newscast knows we had a plethora of accidents across the region especially to the west. we're transitioning to all rain close to philadelphia and points south. there's a little blue in allentown and chester bucks and montgomery county. things are improving as warm air continues to push in from the south and we push into that wintry mix farther to the north. this came in in the oafnt -- overnight hours i'm starting with you with the frez frozen view when most of you were asleep. the temperatures at the surface were cold enough to get the freezing rain the rain hits the

freezing surfaces and turns to ice. the latest view those there's very little blue left, in fact as we look at the winter weather advisories we'll show you that in a moment, they are improving. ice totals. exton we had. .10. and chadds ford. lehigh valley just will a trace philadelphia just a trails of sleet. martins creek in north hampton county is another spot that totaled .10 inches of ice. it's only about an hour you have to worry about this until we see improvement. the winter weather advisory was taken down in chester bucks and montgomery counties. the areas of concern are lancaster, berks and lehigh

"action news" reporter, katherine scott checked out the morning commute across the area and filed this report. >> reporter: it's a mixed bad conditions depend on where you are. in roxborough the roads look okay but the ice is out there like this patch on the sidewalks. it can sneak up on you. there were slips and slides, like this icy watch in roxborough. sure footing it was not easy. on valley, avenue and ridge rain was falling and umbrellas

were out hoods were up, the ground was cold enough for freezing and freezing it did. even getting out to the car could be a tricky traffic. >> walking on the sidewalk. it's slippery. i got in the car and holding him and trying to balance it's slippery. >> going down the stairs, be very, very, very cautious. it's icy there's ice in roxborough it's hilly and dangerous. >> reporter: a messy commute in chester county, as well, and not just for drivers. the camera light picked up the shiny coating of ice that covered the bricks on gay street in west chester. in bensalem, bucks county, street road was salted, but many drivers were slowing down on their way to work just in case. >> the ice you can't tell when it's dark with the glare from the road whether it is slick or not. you have to slow down and take your time and be prepared. you should be fine.

a south philadelphia intersection overnight it happened at midnight at oregon and front street. "action news" was there as the water department crew shut off the 12-inch main. traffic was able to get by but there was icing concerns as temperatures dropped overnight. there are new terror concerns following the paris attack. isis terrorists are renewing the attack to call on attacks on westerns. meanwhile the united states is suffering backlash for missing the massive march in paris. karen traverses has more. >> reporter: u.s. officials say there's no immanent threats and today many across europe are asking key questions, why was there no high-profile american
