on woodhaven road, route 13 behind me bristol pike, in bensalem, you can see there is much heavier traffic than normal and they are traveling back up to street road and getting on northbound. lets go to video one person was killed in this multivehicle crash and five vehicles involved. three passenger vehicles and two tractor trailer, one of them hauling scrap metal. this happened at 3:15 on north street road, a witness said that traffic was backed up because of construction traffic and one tractor trailer hit a parked car and hit the scrap metal truck and sent it off the roadway on i-95, that account is not confirmed by police that is from an eyewitness traffic northbound is at a stand still

traffic is forced off at woodhaven road and there is still some vehicles trapped north of street road and north of woodhaven south of the accident and north of woodhaven. >> what is the traffic out there northbound? >> horrendous, a dead stop people were getting out and walking around. >> on the highway. >> from street road to woodhaven road. >> long time? >> yes absolutely. cleaning that mess up. >> police are telling us that it could be 6:00 before i-95 northbound reopens, they have to call accident investigators to the scene and clean up all the wreckage including the scrap metal out on the road, we know that one person died in this collision and it's unclear who that person was and which vehicle they were riding in and we are working to collect more information, again i-95 northbound is diverted at

woodhaven and creating a mess on the streets of bensalem. i'm sara bloomquist, channel 6 "action news." >> sara, thank you. because of that mess we'll check in with matt pellman shortly for more of the traffic impact on 95 but before that we are following another deadly crash. from our delaware newsroom this crash in hockessin happened on lancaster pike, it involved a tractor trailer and another vehicle and left debris scattered all over the road and police have not yet told us the victim's name or what yet caused this crash. people are being warned about a string of burglaries over the last month and in each case the thieves are getting into the homes the same way. eva pilgram has more. >> reporter: shirleen neighbors

in the south philadelphia neighborhood are on the lookout after several home break-ins in less than a month's time. a warning call that has neighbors talking. >> my dog will watch my house. i mean he lets me know when someone is around. >> it's usually safe. >> the 100 block of siegel street has been hit threes times in less than a month. someone is going through alley doors to get inside. this woman that didn't want to be identified was home when the robbers broke into her house. >> when i came down stairs the stuff from the windowsill was all over the floor and they broke in and went out the back. >> her alley door was broken and has since been repaired but she is still worried. >> it seems they are getting more braise and with it. >> neighbors have went to facebook to warn about the break-ins and the pictures of

dead after a crash involving a tractor trailer there chopper 6 hd live over the scene in the northbound lanes of i-95, this at street road and as a result i-95 is partially shut down. because of that lets get to matt pellman in the traffic center. people want to know how to avoid this mess. >> we have options for them brian and shirleen this is a mess all afternoon the truck involved with the scrap metal and other tractor trailer and cars since then the northbound lanes of i-95 are shut down approaching the street road exit that is it right there in ben salem bucks county the cleanup crews remain on the scene and no northbound traffic continues to get by. we are backed up to that closure point at woodhaven road and traffic is detoured off there to get back to i-95, as sara bloomquist said you don't want to sit through that mess.

use other alternates like the roosevelt boulevard depending on where you are going i would even head to new jersey over the ben franklin bridge and then head back using the pennsylvania turnpike into pennsylvania, when are you detouring we say use frankfurt avenue but there is still a crash from this morning, so that is not your best bet. and a crash northbound in the work zone by cotman avenue taking out the right lane, so people are barking up heading northbound to the closure point at woodhaven when this accident happened, huge delays travel times are three times what they should be coming out of the city. we continue to follow the closure in hockessin delaware. >> lets grab the ipad and do the commuter report on this thursday, almost friday people are talking about the big

are below average, january so far 3.5 degrees below normal and i'm not tracking any big warm-up on the way and i'm not tracking any big cool down, temperatures feel better than yesterday we were stuck at 32 degrees and philadelphia 35 degrees and allentown and trenton 34 and millville 36 degrees, we have a little bit of a breeze creating a small windchill factor feeling like 28 degrees, but compared to the deep freeze last week and earlier this week it feels pretty nice. satellite 6 along with action radar showing the morning clouds and now sunshine filtering through. if you look across the great lakes, you see the snow showers associated with a cold front that is pressing in tomorrow the temperatures are up a notch but the winds are a huge factor. 7:30 tomorrow morning we have

winds from 24 to 35 miles per hour and the winds stay with us all day long. temperatures may be in the 40s and it will feel like 32 degrees when you factor in the winds. the call from accuweather, partly cloudy and winds are light tonight and no big windchill factor tonight. 27 in philadelphia and 23 in millville and 23 in allentown and reading 22. the four day at 4:00, tomorrow 42 degrees, a couple of degrees above average but then again the wind gusts up to 30 miles per hour. the windchills i should say around 32. on saturday the high pressure builds in behind the cold front and that brings us a clear sky and cold and calm conditions and 32 degrees, on sunday it's mild, 44 degrees and rain is developing especially east of the i-95 corridor and behind sunday's system for mlk day of service we dry out and cool down 39 degrees but bring back the

ruptured valve sent water high into the sky and after gushing like old faithful this is the scene today a winter wonderland that is nice to look out but poses a problem way past the cleanup. and now david henry is on the scene of that massive main break. >> reporter: the leak is capped and the only evidence of what happened out here for almost 12 hours is a thick coating of ice on just about everything in sight, the situation is resolved but not before creating a very dangerous state of affairs here. the rupture was reported around 7:30 last night the geyser of water shot into the air and it's on private property but it became the city's job to stop it because that was city water going down the train.

they had to battle freezing water and falling limbs from ice covered trees. one worker had to be rescued and after a while it became too dangerous to continue. >> throughout the night and in the immediate area over there it was dark and icy and difficult location to get access to, we are trying to get close to the location it was extremely challenging for us. >> the leak was caused by a blowout of a valve they had to shut off a network of valves some as far as a mile away. but that left fire hydrants running dry. some shopping complexes were unprotected for hours firefighters would have to truck in water if there had been a fire. and by noon the blown out valve was replaced and they replaced the lines leading to the hydrants, this is the most spectacular of them. but one of seven in the city

out of the burning car but she died there at the scene. >> philadelphia police say that two thieves not only took their time burglarizing an old city bar but took the atm this video is from patty's bar at 3:30 on monday morning, the burglars spent an hour inside of the business assessing what they could take, they walked out the door with the atm and two flat screen televisions they believe that they loaded the stolen goods into a car parked outside. and police are looking for a man that held up a juniata park restaurant the suspect pulled a gun on the employee of the pizza shop. the worker handed over the money in the register and the gunman ran out investigators say the man holding the door was the suspect's come plisz police --
