>> jimmy: i'm jimmy, i'm the host of the show. thank you for watching. thank you each and every one of you for joining us here tonight. hollywood, california, it was a big, big day in hollywood today. a day of much excitement and disappointment too as the nominees for the academy awards were announced. they made the announcements at 5:30 this morning and at 5:40 this morning e! started their red carpet coverage. they're already out there, figuring out who will wear it best. my agent called me at 5:45 this morning to inform me that i was not nominated, and furthermore, he mentioned i was not even in any movies this year. i don't know why he does that. getting nominated for an oscar is exciting but why do they have to do it at 5:30? it's almost not worth the nomination. if i was in charge i would hold a nice nomination brunch. blintzes. little waffles with chicken on them. that's why they call me harry martha stewart.

"boyhood" they say is the heavy favorite to win best picture. the ground-breaking film took 12 years to make but only three years to watch. it's a very good movie but long. some people are complaining about a lack of diversity in this year's nominations but i have to say i happen to think that a nominee is like a snowflake. each one is very different. and they're all white. they say this is the whitest oscars intestines since 1998 whs why the ceremony this year will be broadcast from inside an abercrombie and fitch store. a lot of people are also upset, very upset today that the lego movie didn't get nominated since of all the films under consideration the it is the only one that anyone has actually seen. but can you imagine that people would be mad at something called "the lego movie" wasn't nominated for an oscar? there would be an uprising over

caldwell and kevin 84 guess sen, became the first human beings to free climb the el captain wall. it's a sheer wall, 3,000 feet, they climbed it using only hands and feet, the ropes were for safety. they had no hooks, no pegs, neither one of them had a tail. it's impressive. i need a sherpa to help me clean the gutters on my roof. they started this climb on december 27th, it took 19 days, they slept on little platforms that hung from the wall. they ate canned peaches and hard boiled eggs and they pooped into bags and gave the bags to helpers to carry down. which i don't know how you convince someone to do that. i'd like you to scoot up here and collect my poop, take it down. why not just leave it up there? it's not like anyone's going to step on it. it's an incredible achievement. 19 days without being able to check facebook at all. that alone. the climb got a lot of attention. and frankly i'm sorry too report that it overshadowed another impressive athletic achievement

ty typo. instead of "in god we trust" it said "in dog we trust." it took them two months to notice the error which doesn't exactly inspire confidence in their detectiving skills. ironic because dogs -- rugs are one of the few things you cannot trust dogs around. so it would be a nice baby gift for grandpa snoop, i'll tell you that. we can hear a lot about cyber security because of what happened to sony. companies and individuals more concerned about safety and privacy of their information than ever. president obama has unveiled a number of new proposals this week to crack down on hackers and he plans to address this in the state of the union speech on tuesday. it's great the government is working on this but we need to do a better job of protecting ourselves. the most popular password in the united states is "password123." as long as that's the case we're vulnerable. so today we sent a camera onto hollywood boulevard to help people by asking them to tell us their password.
