dangerous driving conditions throughout delaware county and here in warrington, bucks county a truck slammed into a pole in the 2200 block of bristol road. further south in delaware this was the the 1,000 block of south market street looked like. our first responders were affected by the nasty conditions, as well here on interest stat 495, over naamans road a delaware tait police officer investigating a crash suffered minor injuries when his patrol car was hit by another vehicle. in the city of philadelphia, fire fighters heading to a traffic accident in frankford jackknifed their fire truck on icy frankford avenue, near margaret street, luckily no injuries reported. across philadelphia, travelers saw accidents all over the place. >> there was a few accidents right here on the corner about 7:30 or 8:00 after i got the in from my business meeting. >> it was crazy today. whole of north philadelphia was all ice streets and the curbs. >> reporter: septa suspended bus service for at least two

hours. melvin matthews got to work 45 minutes late. >> when i came outside today it was like buses was closed, everything was sliding. >> reporter: area bridges affect drivers after they hut down for part of the morning. tolls on the walt whitman here, empty. later in the day when ice no longer became a concern, flooding did, along martin luther king drive, many blew through puddles, police in all areas still warning drivers to be cautious. and back out here live taking a look the at traffic heading over ben franklin bridge, the the drpa had four of their bridges closed for part of the morning burlington county commission tacony palmyra and burlington bristol also closed for a portion, all of those bridges are now opened and they are asking drivers on the ben franklin bridge to drive at 35 miles per hour. the as for septa there are some trolley services that are having issues because of high water. they are telling to you check schedules before you head out. reporting live from the base of the ben franklin bridge,

annie mccormack for channel six "action news" good been quite a day, thank you. in the garden state state police handled more than 400 crashes and for a time new jersey transit suspended all bus services. situation was worse in central and northern new jersey, as compared to south jersey, but still commuters all across the state were forced to navigate highways littered with damaged vehicles from spin outs and crashes. the new jersey turnpike and parkway were among the highway shut down. passaic this fire truck was just spinning its wheels and pedestrians had a hard time getting around. >> ice caused problems on the road further north as well. in insuring freezing rain hit later, but with the same results. wet road, turned slippery and drivers had a difficult time keeping vehicles under control. this pickup truck driver could not get out of his own driveway. there were crashes every where, bridges, tunnels and part of the new york state through way were closed because of the dangerous conditions. six abc.com has been updating

vice-president joe by men delaware. secret service is reporting that last night around 8:25 officers heard several gunshots before a vehicle sped away. "action news" reporter wendy salts man is live near the biden family home in new castle county with the very latest wendy? >> reporter: the the vice-president and his wife doctor jill biden, often spend their weekend at their delaware home which was, in fact, the case this weekend but authorities tell us they were out for the evening after this incident took place. it may have been in fact a drive by shooting or it could have just been random shots fired. authorities are investigating that potential threat here tonight. the the new castle county home of vice-president joe biden is quiet tonight the entrance over heavy guard protecting a house that is set several hundred feet off of the road. it was here out front of the guard shack that secret irv is spokesperson says one of the guard heard multiple shots fired in the area of the residents and witnessed a vehicle fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed. officers set up a perimeter

and clyde has now ended in florida. eighteen year-old dalton heyes and his 13 year-old girlfriend, were arrested just after midnight in panama city beach. earlier this month they vanished from their home town in western kentucky, and they began a multi state crime spree. authorities say they broke into homes, forged checks and stole three pickup trucks one with two loaded guns inside. australian golfer robert allenbee is happy to be alive after an incredible ordeal after being beaten a and robbed in hawaii. he posted this selfie after the incident. he went for dinner and drinks friday evening with his caddy and friend, after failing to make cut the sonny open. he remembers nothing after dinner until he woke up in the park macing his wallet, cell phone and cash. surveillance video shows him leaving were four people but allenbee says he doesn't even know who they are. the investigation, continues. still to come on "action news" jeff skversky has sports. >> packers take on the

melissa is here with a check of accu weather, such a rough day. road are still wet and temperatures dropping, into the night should we be concerned about more icing. >> i think there has to be a concern off of the main roads. there will be a lot of drying taking place now, between midnight, so after midnight, temperatures drop below freezing so watching out for standing puddles. that would be a concern for icing as we get in the overnight hours. we will talk about the

details. the still moisture overhead. storm tracker six radar showing you you heaviest has pushed off shore but still notice some showers starting to pick up once again down across that 95 corridor. going in tighter on street level you can see moderate pocket filling in for trenton, philadelphia, down into wilmington, glassboro and elmer in south jersey. we expect moisture to linger for the early half of the evening hours but then of after that we should have some clearing as we get closer to midnight. that flood warning however has been extended and expanded until 11:30 this evening. even though heavier of the rainfall has moved on out there could be run off with the smaller streams, so keep that in mind for green shaded counties here along the i-95 corridor. we have told you about the cristina river at the the bridge there in delaware. another flooding concern, right now penny pack creek in philadelphia. minor flooding taking place here. flood stage is at 7 feet and half foot above flood stage.
