12:12 pm
for years, jim's medicine tied him to a monthly trip to the clinic to get his blood tested. but now, with once-a-day xarelto®, jim's on the move. jim's doctor recommended xarelto®. like warfarin, xarelto® is proven effective to reduce afib-related stroke risk. but xarelto® is the first and only once-a-day prescription blood thinner for patients with afib not caused by a heart valve problem that doesn't require regular blood monitoring. so jim's not tied to that monitoring routine. gps: proceed to the designated route. not today. for patients currently well managed on warfarin, there is limited information on how xarelto® and warfarin compare in reducing the risk of stroke. xarelto® is just one pill a day taken with the evening meal. plus, with no known dietary restrictions jim can eat the healthy foods he likes. don't stop taking xarelto® rivaroxaban, unless your doctor tells you to. while taking xarelto®, you may bruise more easily and it may take longer for bleeding to stop. xarelto® may increase your risk of bleeding
12:13 pm
if you take certain medicines. xarelto® can cause serious bleeding and in rare cases, may be fatal. get help right away if you develop unexpected bleeding, unusual bruising, or tingling. if you have had spinal anesthesia while on xarelto® watch for back pain or any nerve or muscle related signs or symptoms. do not take xarelto® if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. tell your doctor before all planned medical or dental procedures. before starting xarelto®, tell your doctor about any conditions such as kidney, liver, or bleeding problems. jim changed his routine. ask your doctor about xarelto®. once-a-day xarelto® means no regular blood monitoring, no known dietary restrictions. for information and savings options, download the xarelto® patient center app call 1-888-xarelto or visit goxarelto.com.

a fisherman made quite a catch off the coast of southwest australia, take a look at this, it's called a frilled shark six feet long with sharp teeth and a body like an he'll. the frilled shark is sometimes described as a fish fossil because it dates back 80 million
12:25 pm
years they are rarely seen because their habitats are off limits for fishing. it doesn't look happy does it. >> all right. you never know. >> mainly dry and stormtracker 6 live double scan shows you that there is virtually dry conditions across the region i'll go in tight in the northern and western suburbs where there is snow activity west of pottstown and a little from reading none of this is likely to give you trouble, i want to show it to you and slow it down if you see this. temperatures are above freezing and as we take a look outside, spring mountain shows up on sky 6, nobody on the slopes yet and they open up and there will probably be a few people taking advantage and chilly enough for skiing and 35 in philadelphia your dew point at 30 and winds west at 6, not a strong wind profile this afternoon 34 in trenton and 34 in allentown un32
12:26 pm
in wildwood new jersey and there could be icy patch there's left over from the snow. philadelphia shows you cloud cover overhead look at that break to the west of us i expect the skies to bright and a bit in the afternoon and we may spoke sunshine through, allentown clouds and be optimistic and say sun will mix in. chilly and not a lot of wind today, down the shore a high of 42, clouds with a mixture of sun and brightening of the clouds philadelphia 42 for a high, above average and clouds mixing with sunny breaks and chilly conditions and winds west at 14 and we dip down to 23 and it will be cold but the 23 is in the ballpark where you expect to be this time of year, tomorrow is dry but on saturday that is our next issue an area of low pressure that gets off the coast
12:27 pm
and goes up the coast in typical nor'easter fashion. but this is not a typical nor'easter while it has a lot of moisture it doesn't have the cold air that these usually use to make for major snowfalls we are not expecting that out of this there is a case of how close to the coast it tracks closer means more precipitation and farther away means less. it's not a situation where we have a lot of cold air in place there is a good amount of mild air when you look at the models, the rpm wants all rain here, 1.9 inches sounds good out of the euro and 2.7 not out of the question what we are looking at is a fairly light snowfall total. we will use one particular run of a model i particularly like, at 12:30 on the morning on saturday, wee hours of the morning when you go to bed
12:28 pm
you'll start to see snow pass through the region but by as early as 4:30 to about 7:00 there is warm air coming from the south and we change to rain early in the morning, a lot of things could change and we could have snow hanging on longer or a period of sleet mixing in but that is the way it looks right now and cecily and adam have a look at 4:00. 42 is the high and partly sunny and some clouds tomorrow. a rain and snow mix on saturday it's worth keeping your eye on and 39 and sunday 40 and sun and monday 34 and snow showers and flurries and perhaps an accumulation on monday. and it looks like we are mainly dry on tuesday. just cold tuesday and wednesday rick. >> don't put the snow boots away yet. david, thank you. there is much more ahead on "action news" at noon.
