notice there is no froze and precipitation with this right now and that is an indication of the lack of a deep layer of cold air. future tracker is showing not all rain for philadelphia when this moves in in the wee hours of saturday morning right around midnight, you'll notice that we have the snow around philadelphia however this storm system is pulling in warm air. that snow will be transitioning to rain along the i-95 corridor and delaware and south jersey to get pure snow you have to go to the far northern suburbs. this is the timeline for the northeaster, it's arriving from the south to the north around midnight on friday night. between 3:00 and 9:00 in the morning this is when we get the heaviest precipitation and the change over to rain in philadelphia and it's a fairly fast moving system and it moves out between noon and 3:00 to the southwest to the northeast and i'll talk specifically what to expect where you live in the full accuweather forecast.

the philadelphia school district suffered a $50 million defeat at the hands of common court. they said they cannot cancel the teachers contract as it did last october. lets go to vernon odom at school district headquarterers how big of a blow to the school district be how big of a victory for the teachers. >> it's a huge victory for the teachers union and a major blow and loss to the school district and reform commission, they lost big time and the district leaders are trying to decide whether to appeal this decision to the supreme court or simply bite the bullet. >> very angry and rightfully so. teacher president jerry jordan is pleased as punch with the

victory for the philadelphia school district. in a 42 page ruling, they said that the school district acted illegally, when they imposed their own terms. after contract talks were going nowhere they proposed health care benefit changes that would have poured $50 million into the courtroom. >> the school reform commission was improper in canceling the current collective bargaining agreement. >> the school district says that there is no impact on the second semester programs but the loss of savings they planned on for the fall could be trouble including another round of layoffs for teachers nurses and other employees. >> it's too early to say it would transfer to more layoffs or not.

this weekend we don't have a lot of cold air in place and that results in minimal snowfall for philadelphia high temperatures relatively mild and 41 for philadelphia and warmer to the south and washington 49 and richmond 51 degrees and 41 is one degree above normal. those are not temperatures you want to see if you are hoping for a big snowfall. more than 24 hours outside of the event right now the great of the probability for snowfall is on the light side, that will fall before the change over to rain that will happen quickly on saturday morning. right now it's dry and we see sunshine today and 39 degrees in philadelphia millville 39 and trenton 37 and allentown 36 and wilmington 37 and the poconos 25 degrees satellite 6 along with action radar showing all eyes are on the moisture developing along the south in the gulf of mexico and it could bring severe weather to northern florida and

georgia and this is what will become the nor'easter on saturday. now, the setup one major ingredient we are lacking is a very broad area of arctic high pressure that will bring us a deep supply of cold air and really slow down the storm system, we don't have that, this will be a fairly fast moving system, as it deepens and strengthens it pulls up air from the ocean the ocean air is 38 degrees and that is relatively mild air and that will create a change over to most of our viewing area. future tracker showing the snow will be falling in philadelphia when most of us are sleeping at 2:00 it's snowing however look at what happens when we look at saturday morning, the change over not only the i-95 corridor and the immediate suburbs you have to go to northern berks and the lehigh valley and the poconos to get the pure snow and it all starts to move out by saturday afternoon, what are we
