good morning, it is 6:00 a.m. on this sunday january 25. here's what's happening on "action news." storm tracker 6 live double scan live here comes round two of snow, meteorologist chris sowers has gathered the latest timing and projections. >> new overnight a philadelphia police officer is hurt in a crash. bomb threats target two flights arriving in atlanta. let's turn to chris sowers and a check of the snow in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. >> reporter: round two is arriving on schedule and there's potentially round three to follow that. that could be bigger. i'll talk about that in a little bit. let's get you outside and show you what's going on.

we have positive news overnight clouds rolled in overnight and kept the temperatures up. most locations are above freezing, which is good news. we're seeing a little bit of black ice not nearly as much as we could have seen. these clouds are acting as an atmospheric blanket. millville, the own exception 30 degrees, you diplomat see much snow. whatever coating you picked up yesterday morning melted. all the snow is out here across the viewing area. that's limiting the amount of icing that we're seeing this morning. forecast for today increasing clouds turning milder. 43 degrees, a decent amount of sunshine to start clouds rolling in later on. winds switch directioning out of the north at 10 to 15 miles per hour. that will increase the clouds. by 11:00 38 degrees, 1:00 p.m.

41 and 4:00 p.m. up to # # which is the normal -- up to 42. which is the normal for this time of year. a huge storm develops off the coast monday morning. the question how much of this storm impacts the region. i'll have that coming up. >> snow and black ice in spots as chris mentioned are concerns this morning. we are telling you, we are bracing for another storm. >> this may affect the driver to work and school tomorrow. kenneth moten has more on the snowy slick weekend. >> reporter: concerns about the black ice on the secondaries and main roads moved into the area saturday night night with drivers taking precautions. >> the roads are well salted, i want down 202 without any issues. >> reporter: transportation

agencies across the tri state say crews were on the roads looking for the slick spots. just a week ago a flash freeze sparked a pileup on the blue route. several inches covered the area friday night saturday morning. >> you fight you lose. you have to be careful how you drive, especially if you drive suv. >> reporter: that rain washed away a good bit of snow in many areas, but drivers were on alert. >> they did a good job salting but i had somebody stop on me pretty quick and i slipped. >> reporter: penndot will decide sunday about the number of trucks deploy for the inbound clipper monday morning. with delaware and new jersey forecasted to get a few more

firefighters had to retreat for fear of a collapse. investigators are looking for clues to what sparked the blaze. new overnight a philadelphia police officer is hospitalized after this crash. an eablgd drunk driver -- alleged drunk driver slammed into the cruiser overnight in west philadelphia. the officer is in stable condition at university of pennsylvania hospital. the driver was arrested an facing drunk driving charges. police are looking for the trigger man in a drive-by shooting at rowan university campus. a 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg at the campus apartment. he is being treated at cooper university hospital. >> from our delaware newsroom this morning volunteers will search for a young mother from smyrna kiesha hamilton went

missing january 11 along with her two children. the children were found they were unhurt. seizure i can't's family think hamilton harmed her. the search team will gather at 8:00 a.m. at the fire station in new castle. fbi is trying to track down the person who tweeted threats to two flights in atlanta. the ordeal ended with guns drawn and dramatic conversation. >> reporter: bomb threats sent see i can't social media were -- social media. >> they mentioned that the fbi and tsa was going to come. >> reporter: the twitter attack made threats against delta 1156 from portland and southwest 2191

condemned the apparently beheading of one of the two japanese hostages being held by isis. the president called it a brutal murder. japan compressed outraged of the beheading of the man seen here. the video was released showing the other japs hostage holding a picture of what appeared to be the decapitated body. the picture was released after the isis deadline passed after a 200 million-dollar ransom. they now want a release of a woman facing the death penalty in jordon for the 2005 bombing there. "g.m.a." is covering the isis threat and the winter weather at 8:00 a.m. after this newscast. itall can police square off with protesters.

>> the snow that moved through yesterday was blamed for accidents in new york norkt state. some -- new york state most of us new england escaped from the heaviest snow. as we heard we are watching another storm gaining steam. >> not this one. >> reporter: we have a weaker system, a clipper system coming in tonight and tomorrow morning. there's the potential for a major storm system monday into tuesday, as we get you outside we'll get you started there's atlantic city, we have a bit of a breeze and temperatures are not dropped off all that much. that's limiting the amount of ice north and west. good news there. sitting at 35 degrees in philadelphia. the freezing mark is 32. so we're three degrees warmer. do you want 27.

winds out of the southwest at 14. millville, 30. allentown, reading philadelphia all 35 well above freezing north and west of the city. we have quite a bit of wind blowing. it feels like the 20s. allentown, feels like 27. that's the present windchill. philadelphia, 26. wilmington trenton showing windchill values of 27 degrees. there's the satellite and radar actually all we see right now is a little swath of rainier saint louis. this is the clipper system right here, it's going to continue to dive toward the south and make the left-hand side turn, now the issue is how quickly this thing intensifies once it hits the coast. that will you will -- ultimately determine whams monday into tuesday. we've seen slipper system race along, if that happens we'll

have that tonight into tomorrow morning. here's future tracker 6. today is a quiet day starting out with sunshine, the clouds lower and thicken quickly on the increase. the model is having a terrible time handling this clipper system. there will be light snow flying throughout the delaware valley. that will continue throughout the late morning hours into the first part of the afternoon and then it will start to wind down around 2:00, 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon. and then we have to focus our attention closer to the coast. the storm will hit the coast and will that storm start to grow and push back bands of heavier snow monday night into tuesday morning. what we know right now snow is likely monday morning light to occasionally moderate snow, temperatures will be below freezing so we'll see slick spots out there. probably not too much in the

city on the ground, by the time the morning commute starts. slow morning commute slippery conditions, temperatures in the 20s and snowfall totals by the time this slipper system winds down will range anywhere from 2 to 4 inches from lancaster to philadelphia to the coast one to two to the south and one to two toward the north. the bulls eye will be in the heart of philadelphia. the winter storm watch goes up monday into tuesday the models are all over the place the gfs has the 3 inches of. -- gfs has 11 inches nam 3 inches. it's something we have to watch closely. sun to clouds, milder,

>> reporter: welcome back everyone, 6:23, the next series in the pipeline will be swinging through tonight. so far this winter season we've seen a progressive pattern where things race on by from northwest to southeast. that has limited the amount of snow we've seen in philadelphia and points south and east. now things are about to change, the pattern will dig a little bit more. that will allow the storm a little extra time to get it back together. that means we could see minor accumulations tonight into tomorrow morning from 2 to 4 inches. the potential is for a bigger issue monday night into tuesday the because the storm is going to hit, i don't want to call it a block because it's not a morocco. it will hit a feature up here which will slow it down and allow it to rapidly intensify.

[laughter]. >> reporter: let's go live on sky 6. the potential is there for not one, but two. a clipper system sunday into monday morning. the second storm monday into tuesday, it's uncertain how much of the system hits the delaware valley. as we set it into motion we had good news this morning, we were expecting gliez north and west of the -- black ice north and west of the city. because we're seeing all the cloud cover it limited how cold

the temperatures have dropped off. everybody is above freezing. we're not seeing the dramatic icing in the viewing area this is the area that picked up the moderate snow. we're not seeing too much black ice if you're traveling early make sure you take your time and slow it down, because some of the back roads will be slick. sitting at 34. buena, 34. woodbine, 33. just about everybody above freezing at this hour. forecast for today well above freezing, combination of sun and clouds, which will increase throughout the day. the cloud cover 38 degrees by 11:00. 1:00 p.m., 41. 4:00 p.m., 42 degrees, shooting for a high of 43. here's an early call on tomorrow, the morning commute will be slow, you'll have to allow yourself extra time. there will be light will snow overspreading the area west to east. during the evening commute this is when the second round the second storm system may be

rain washed it away. storm tracker 6 live is there along with the seven day and hourly forecast that includes posted watches and warnings at 6abc.com/weather. >> new this morning, police are looking for the killer who gunned down a man on a camden, new jersey street. the courtyard of the grant village apartments on south 9th street. the victim was shot once in the chest at 1:30. he was pronounced at cooper university hospital. no word on a motive or suspect in this in this case. a man is fighting for his life after being stabbed in philadelphia's crescentville section. medics respond to the home on tabor avenue. he was found stabbed in the chest. he was rushed to einstein in critical condition. police are questioning witnesses. a family is pleading for justice in the hit-and-run in important richmond that ended with a grandmother in a coma.

good sunday morning, sky6 live hd taking a live look right now over the airport. it appears that there was if we could roll the prompter up there, an underground transformer blew in lancaster that street is closed from wyoming to haverford station. that is in lower merion be aware of that. >> winter wishes are coming through. >> reporter: the snow lovers are going to be happy if the models pan out. it's going to be interesting around the delaware valley. we have not one but two systems they are watching closely. in the meantime there's the view in penns landing, philadelphia picking up an inch yesterday our northwestern suburbs saw as much as 4 to 7 inches of snow. the good news is we're not seeing widespread black ice developing across the

northwestern suburbs because most temperatures are above freezing. there's good news there. 35 in the city. dewpoint 27. winds starting to pick up out of the southwest at 15 miles per hour. allen 4 degrees above freezing. the reason why we're above freezing, the wind has picked up, called mixing to develop. the energy from the sun is not allowed to escape into the atmosphere. we're not seeing that happen. and we're seeing clouds covering the delaware valley. that's acting as an atmospheric blanket. they are combining and keeping higher than we would normally see. there's a clipper system that has the potential of becoming a monster storm monday night into tuesday, this is the water vapor image, you can see that counter clockwise swirl that can you can you

curly cue. that will move into the area. here comes the light snow breaking out west to east across the viewing area. the clipper system i felt doesn't look like it will be that big of a deal. accumulations on the lighter side. the question is monday evening into monday night and tuesday how quickly does the storm develop or intensify once it hits the coast and how far west do the heavier bands travel moving north into new england. those are the confess -- questions that need to be answered. tonight, into tomorrow morning light to moderate snow, it will slow things down on the back roads they will become slippery as temperatures drop into the 20s. snowfall accumulations with the clipper system 2 to 4 reading to allentown through the i-95

corridor and into the coast there. but i would say, i would lean toward the 2 not the 4, there could be isolated areas that could pick up 2 to 4. i think 2 is a good number. a little bit less to the south and a little bit less to the north. the bulls eye runs through the heart of philadelphia. here comes monday night into tuesday. as the storm hits the coast it will start to develop actually. it becomes a monster storm for new england. the question is how quickly does it develop. if it develops quick enough it will push the heavier bands west into the delaware valley. if it develops slowly it will be new england that sees the sizable snows monday into tuesday. monday night, the heaviest should the storm intensify would be east of i-95 areas like allentown and reading will be too far west for a heavy band. lots of uncertainty for the

storm. one model says 2 to 3 inches, one model says 16. there's a lot of uncertainty monday night into tuesday it's a milder day a nice day increasing clouds, millville 46. cape may 45. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast shows a nice cold shot this week. 33 degrees for monday, snow at times. that's the clipper system. accumulations will be on the lighter side. 2 to 4 from the western suburbs through philadelphia and the jersey shore. monday night into tuesday more snow possible with the coastal storm, 26 degrees, wednesday 29 thursday, 35. next saturday another shot gets in here, real cold air by sunday we might struggle to get out of the teens for highs. >> a woman is vowing not to wear form-fitting leggings in
