good afternoon in the news this noon, the fate of two isis hostages, the one condition holding up a possible prisoner swap. and what a businessman was selling in his office in center city. and the big story ark fire that killed a couple and more on the police officer that tried to save them. the fire broke out on daly street overnight and despite a brave rescue a man and woman were found dead inside. eva pilgram joins us live on the scene. >> reporter: sara, fire devoured this home here in philadelphia, killing the couple that lived here and hurting a police officer who tried to save them. flames poured out of this home on the 400 block of daly street before 1:30 this morning.

>> our neighbor was thankful enough to come bang on the door and let us know there was a fire next door and i rushed to get her out. >> i saw flames shooting out the window. >> the man and woman were not able to get out. >> i talked to him earlier that day. >> the couple's bodies were found inside and both were in their 60s. >> one police officer attempted to enter the dwelling and the police officer sustained burn injuries and was transferred to the hospital by his co-workers. >> this fire started on the first floor and spread to the second florida. allen lives next door to the fire and he shot this video as he stood watching his neighbor's home go up in flames. >> we thought our home would catch on fire, it was really bad. >> this morning he is thankful for firefighters saving his home, his thoughts are with his neighbor's family.

burglarized overnight. police are looking for surveillance on this busy commercial street. the alarms on the building were not working because power had been out since tuesday's incidents. bricks from a neighboring building fell on to the store causing a 20 feet hole in the roof and injuring three women investigators believe that ice and wind caused the bricks to become loose. >> the winds are letting up and accuweather is predicting light snow for tonight. the clouds are building this noon after a cold start for the day. meteorologist david murphy is at the "action news" big board. >> stormtracker 6 live double scan already picking up a couple of light snow showers west of harrisburg this could die out before it makes it into reading and something you will want to keep your eye on. the main body of the precipitation is to the west and won't be here until this

pradelli is live now with more on today's hearing. >> reporter: sara, today's arraignments is just a formality, the terrorism and murder charges against eric frein will be read into the court and he is expected to enter a not guilty plea. we saw him three weeks ago during the preliminary hearing and we saw video of the shooting of corporal dixon and corporal douglas dixon was killed and douglas continues to recover from the injuries. eric frein is accused of shooting the two men and that led to a seven week manhunt and was finally captured outside of an abandoned hangar. the prosecutor filed paperwork intending to seek the death penalty against eric frein is he not expected to arrive here today for his arraignment he will be arraigned via video

david is here now with the accuweather forecast ever being a cold start to the day. but we are improving now. >> not as much wind as yesterday and that is nice, stormtracker 6 live double scan shows you we are mainly dry across it's region we are going in tight to areas to the north and west and harrisburg has a few light snow showers and a lot of this is breaking down to flurries as it crosses the susquehanna river a long way off from reading. you'll see a flurry or quick burst of snow in the northern areas, as we take a look outside, we have mostly some clouds and starting to come in and increase in the area, and

after a sunny start earlier there is the action cam showing you some sun getting through the clouds and starting to cloud up a little bit at the art museum. 32 is the freezing mark, your current temperature in philadelphia, the winds are light at 5 miles per hour, numbers across the region in allentown and you started out in the mid single digits. at about 4:00 to or after that. 34 in millville and 34 in wildwood. there is the increasing clouds and snow closer to home. it's rain and icy mix to the west and snow farther to the north as it comes in it will probably produce some wintry precipitation, increasing clouds and evening light snow in the allentown area and 32 is the high there at the shore we are going milder a high of 40 with increasing clouds and could be evening rain drops not a lot

but a sprinkle or shower in south jersey, increasing clouds in philadelphia too with ahigh of 35 32 is the overnight low and cloudy skies and mainly in the evening hours there is a chance of a bit of snow in philadelphia and points north. winds will pick up as we go overnight. in terms of snow, the latest model runs are not real robust with this, it sort of clips philadelphia around 8:00 or 9:00, notice it is light rain to the south and mixing to the transition zone and bodies of snow to the north as we go towards the morning there is not much left. models now in philadelphia the rpm not calling for much, they are going for a half inch to inch. again, this is all falling during the evening, a coating to an inch and the possibility of 1 to 2 inches be careful and slow down this evening, but it's not
