making news in america this morning, new concerns about the measles outbreak after it spreads to other locations including the state hosting this weekend's big game. the rise in cases sparking a new national debate about vaccines. >> super bowl sunday right around the corner. the preparations under way right now and who will be handling the footballs to prevent another deflate-gate. wanted man. suge knight suspected of running down two men with his truck. new details just in. deflate-gate debate jimmy kimmel gets some of his boston buddies together to put an end to the patriots scandal. >> good friday morning to you. we have to start with this measles outbreak spilling into more and more states.

the disease now spread to arizona where thousands are heading for the super bowl this weekend. abc's susan saulny has the details. >> reporter: one of the most contagious airborne viruses on earth, measles. with more than 84 cases just this month, alarm is growing that measles is spreading. >> i think it's kind of scary because it used to be pretty eradicated. >> reporter: the centers for disease control is urging americans to get vaccinated after an outbreak that began in disneyland in december. in arizona alone as super bowl fans arriving state officials are monitoring a thousand people and nearly 200 children for possible exposure. in california 66 students at palm desert high school who can't prove they were vaccinated are not allowed to return to case for two weeks after a fellow student showed possible symptoms. >> parents are afraid and nervous about what might happen.

>> reporter: they start out like a cold runny nose fever, sore throat then the rash begins. most people recover. but measles can cause brain damage and pneumonia. it can also be deadly. >> vaccinated my kids are healthy. >> reporter: it's reigniting a debate over those opting out of the vaccine for religious or reasons. >> to be up to date on the vaccines is most important. >> reporter: they declared the disease eliminated 15 years ago and they've been imported from travelers overseas. susan saulny abc news washington. besides measles the other concern, keeping the super bowl safe. >> yes, at the university of phoenix stadium in glendale arizona, extraordinary measures are in place. you're seeing a live look outside that stadium where the patriots and seahawks going at it sunday. security is a 30-mile no-nye zone and scanners search every

well. south plains heavy rain on tap for the next couple of days. this right through saturday 1 to 2 inches potentially in lubbock with mountain snow up to 25 in colorado springs and denver. later on this weekend, snow expands its way off to the north and east into the ohio valley. back to you. turning overseas to that delta impose deadline by isis. jordan had agreed to free a prisoner in exchange for the release of a japanese journalist and jordanian pilot but government officials say it's on hold until isis provides proof that their pilot is still alive. to a deadly attack on americans in afghanistan. three u.s. defense contractors shot and killed last night at the international airport in kabul. the shooter was shot dead by security. authorities say he was wearing an afghan police uniform but it's still not clear if he was a real officer. senator lindsey graham says the taliban detainees released

from guantanamo bay are already back in touch with al qaeda. they're being monitored by the government of qatar. graham believes it's only a matter of time before they return to terroristic activities. a 19-year-old is claiming to be a hacker. he burst into a studio with a gun. he demanded air time and threatened to set off bombs around the netherlands and forced them off the air for nearly an hour. the gun turned out to be a fake. investigators are still looking into a possible motive. meanwhile the death toll from that explosion rocking a mexico city maternity hospital now up to three. the blast killed a nurse and two babies injured dozens more virtually leveled the hospitals. investigators blaming a leak from a tanker truck making a routine delivery of propane gas. on board two separate flights. united from los angeles to d.c. had just taken off when passengers complained they

smelled something burning. it was diverted to ontario. california and evacuated. they're still checking to see where it was coming from. a bizarre incident a delta flight landed and the door jammed end the co-pilot called ahead and landed the plane alone without incident. well a major political showdown is brewing over the keystone pipeline. the senate defied threats of a presidential veto pushing through a bill for that pipeline. it would move canadian crude oil 1200 miles to gulf coast refineries. in other showdown it was senator john mccain versus anti-war protesters. he was chairing a meeting when the protesters approached a table where formers secretary of the state, henry kissinger and

mad line albright were about to testify. they demanded he be put on trial for war crime. >> if we can't get the capitol hill police in immediately -- get out of here you low-life scum. >> kind of amusing to hear. mccain complained capitol hill police took too long to take action. a spokesman said capitol police take their mission very seriously to protect congress and that their actions, quote, clearly did not demonstrate that mission. still ahead, super bowl sticker shock. you have got to hear what the cheapest ticket is going for right now. developing overnight, wanted rap mogul suge knight involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash which investigators say was done on purpose. a race against time on a frozen lake. this dramatic rescue of two kids and we got it all on camera.

wall street is rebounding after oil prices also turned the corner. the dow climbed more than 225 points much of it late in yesterday's session to close at 17,416.85. the increase in oil prices was slight just 0.2%. investors were also cheered by good earnings reports. there may be a sixth death linked to those exploding air bags. honda is looking at an accident in houston involving a 2002 accord. the air bags can rupture when deployed spewing metal

fragments. several recall notices were sent but this car was never brought in for repairs. headline about the super bowl ticket prices. they are through the roof. overnight the cheapest game ticket on stubhub was nearly $7500. now, if prices do stay this high this would mean the most expensive super bowl ticket in history. the most expensive ticket on sub hub was $172,505.25. but you do get to sit right next to bill belichick during the game. meantime, in a major crackdown, nearly $20 million in fake super bowl gear was seized. more than 325,000 counterfeit items were taken out of circulation. it began a year ago after last year's super bowl focused on international shipments of bogus merchandise entering the u.s. starbucks and match.com are hooking up and making it easier for singles to do the same organizing the world's largest starbucks date on the eve of valentine's day. they're inviting customers to use a new feature caughted meet

forecasters say rain won't be a problem on sunday. it'll be 70 degrees and sunny at game time. the roads in phoenix will be wet with snow in the higher elevations. airport delays likely in boston and phoenix. new this morning, former rapper mogul suge knight is accused of running over two men with a truck and killing one of them. >> this reportedly look place in a parking lot. he hit them and backed over them. knight's attorney describes it as an accident. he claims knight was attacked by two people and was trying to escape when he mowed down the men much he says the man who died was actually knight's friend. testimony begins at the murder trial of former new england patriots tight end aaron hernandez. in opening statements prosecutors said dna evidence and security video from his own home will prove he orchestrated the killinging of odin lloyd in 2013. hernandez's lawyer said he's

innocent and accused authorities of targeting hernandez from the start of the case. if convicted hernandez faces life in prison. well a fugitive survivalist who led police on a 48-day manhunt is pleading not guilty to all charges against him. eric frein is accused of shooting and killing a pennsylvania state trooper and injuring another in a late night ambush. frein has confessed to what he called an assassination designed to wake people up. commuter trains in boston should run as skidded this morning after long day pull of delays. passengers on a morning subway train say when they were stopped at the quincy station smoke began billowing through the car. the panicked passengers say the doors wouldn't open so they scrambled to escape from the windows. >> it was dark inside and somebody shouted and people started screaming and they were yelling to open the doors. >> authorities blame a mechanical error. new york's firefighters showed why they're called new

york's bravest as they rescued a young boy stranded on a thin sheet of ice on the bronx river. the life ring couldn't reach the boy and rescuers warned him not to move toward it and a firefighter gets on the water to guide a ladder towards the boy. he was then able to climb to safety. everybody was fine. well a sobering study on just how much is too much when it comes to drinking and your health. swedish researchers say middle-aged people who drink more than two glasses of alcoholic beverages a day have a 30% higher risk of stroke than light drinkers and those strokes are likely to take place at a younger age. the american heart association recommends no more than two drinks a day for men and just one for women. dartmouth is banning hard liquor on campus in hopes of curbing misconduct. they're requiring all students to take part in a sexual violence prevention program for all four years. dartmouth is among 95 schools under federal investigation over its handling of sexual

harassment and violence. many of those cases have been linked to heavy drinking. a jockey in texas is charged for a felony for allegedly using a buzzer to shock his horse. roman chapa won the race but look at this. it has prosecutors claiming he was shocking the animal with that thing making him run faster. he says the picture was photoshopped by someone trying to frame him suspended from the track. if convicted he could face ten years in prison. turn to sports. odell beckham jr. catching passes one-handed doing this at the super bowl set combining for a new world record most one-handed pass completions in a minute so they did this 33 times. a judge from guinness was there to make it official. looks a lot easier. if you didn't know him, you knew him after that catch, the one flying backwards caught it with three fingers, maybe 9 best
