snow. annie mccormick will have more. >> chris sowers is here, what's going on? >> reporter: yesterday we woke up with windchills near zero. but it's not nearly always cold this morning. but it's still cold. we have a winter weather advisory in effect later this evening, for the areas shaded in lavender color. we're expecting snow at the on set before changing over to a wintery mix and eventually all rain. snowfall amounts in this part of the viewing area will be enough to be on the annoying side. the steadier accumulations will be north and west, where the winter storm warning is in effect saturday where we'll see several inches of snow accumulating. they will fall on the ground and in time to make the morning commute treacherous. snow breaking out to the northwest, 66 million people across country will see at least 6 inches of notice from the system. this is a large dynamic storm

system that's racing east. lots of heavy rain to the south and that wintry mix in the blue pushing into the ohio valley. temperature-wise, most numbers were down in the mid teens. philadelphia, 26. reading, 23. wilmington 23, allentown, 25. millville, that's a little cold at 15. and will atlantic city, 23. 27 degrees by 9:00 a.m. cloudy skies we'll see clouds from start to finish. 11:00 a.m., 32 1:00 p.m. 34. 4:00 p.m., 37 degrees, lights snow develops after 4:00, let's say 5:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m., it will slide in west to east and pick up in intensity during the overnight hours. we'll talk about what you can expect for the morning commute i'll have the snow totals in just a few minutes. >> because of the winter storm "action news" will be on the air a half-hour early tomorrow morning. join david matt and tam and

it's nice and quiet out there this morning. it's milder, yesterday we had temperatures in the single digits and teens actual air temperatures. this morning, most locations are in the 20s it's better out there, plus, we don't have the harsh wind, so it feels nicer. storm tracker 6 live double scan nothing going on in the city, but we are picking up flurries across pennsylvania, harrisburg and york, otherwise it's quiet around the delaware valley. 26 degrees in philadelphia. dewpoint, 13. winds are calm. presser ryan howard 30.26 inches. 25 in allentown. millville, clear skies we're down to 15. dover, 19. trenton, 25 and wildwood, 21, the satellite and radar clouds increasing from the west here's the leading edge of that shield of moisture, this is a large storm system, snowing heavily across indiana.

this system will push east over the next 1 to 24 hours. this will get in here after the super bowl kicks off at #-- 7:00 p.m. this evening. large storm system sitting here, trailing cold front across the ohio and tennessee paralysis. this will act differently it's not going to cut into the great lakes, it will travel from west to east across the country and run over the appalachians and into the northern mid atlantic and the northeast. that's why we're not going to see a huge snowfall out of the storm, because the milder air will work in from the south and change everything over to plain rain tonight. if you're in the lehigh valley and the poconos chances are this will stay all snow. maybe you change over to a period of wintry mix sleet and freezing rain in allentown but it will be brief. it will be mainly snow. this blue is snow, ice to rain

and in the new jersey, it's snow at the on set but rain will wash it away. light snow develops at 5 to 8:00 p.m. 1:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. heaviest snow in the lehigh valley, rain and mix ends around 10:00 a.m. as far as snowfall totals in the city, you can see the concensus not showing much of anything at all. the european is bullish with two inches. everything else is saying this is a non-event. in the lehigh valley the forecast models are in agreement, even these numbers have come dawn, gfs3 1/2, european, 3 1/2. this is the way the map will look.

we skipped heavy snows and it clobbered new england. that was a heavy potent storm. storm tracker 6 live double scan, snows to the north, we have the cold air in place what we're noticing the rain/snow line is creeping to the north running parallel to the interstate 70. it will push east and move to the cold air in the mid atlantic and the northeast now. the mild air will win the battle and change everything over to rain after midnight tonight. it will limit the snowfall totals. with that said there will be enough time to get minor to significant accumulations north and west. allentown, 25, reading, 26. wilmington, 23 millville 15. we're seeing windchills in the teens and 20s. philadelphia, 26. 18 in trenton.

41 north past route 48. an suv was out of control and sideswiped another car and slammed into a tree. the driver was pronounced at the scene. the two people in the second vehicle suffered minor injuries. state police are trying to determine what caused the suv to go out of control. police in burlington county are investigating a double homicide. a woman discovered the victims inside a house, a man and woman were pronounced dead. another man was taken away in handcuffs. meantime, neighbors in the quiet community say they are shaken up. >> i never would have thought that anyone would kill around here, this is a very quiet neighborhood. i don't understand. >> police are not saying how the victims were killed. happening today, new jersey governor chris christie is in london england after a.ing --

pittsburgh the appalachian states reporting a little bit of light snow but the steadiest and heaviest by far is out here, across the ohio and tennessee valleys. heavy rain down to jackson mississippi, nashville reporting heavy. chicago we flipped it over to snow, the area of low pressure is here, it's going to make a beeline toward philadelphia over the next 24 to 36 hours juflts there will be an -- just like like there will be an arctic front over the area. it will start out as snow as change over to the rain south of the line. we're expecting cloudy skies not much sun at all. if you see anything twin across south jersey. the jersey shore let's say central and southern delaware, to be more specific. generally speaking everybody is cloudy today. here comes the light snow, 5:00 p.m. north of the pennsylvania turnpike, you'll see how this will increase in

intensity and coverage. midnight we have steady to heavy snow falling north of the pennsylvania turnpike. heavy rain to the south. the rain/snow line will shift north, probably picking up one to two inches per hour, it's snow, steady soaking rain for everybody else. the rain will continue through 8:00 a.m. or 9:00 a.m. and everything winds down around lunchtime. snowfall totals look impressive in the lehigh valley and the northern poconos. 6 inches of snow, 3 to 6 through reading and allentown and trenton. 1 inch line, a tight gradiant here one to 3 inches. south, it's a rain event. 1 to 3 coatesville pottstown

auschwitz i knew what was expected me there by that time we knew what was going on. we couldn't believe it. we talked about it, but we said this can't be, it's not possible. at night, there were just a few prison in -- people in a prison train arriving in auschwitz. it was dreadful. various prisoners did the tattooing and shaving of hair. the girl asked me what i was doing before the war. i said i was playing the cello fantastic, she said, you'll be saved. >> he we were the only women orchestra. consisted of children more or less in cans tryings camps.

and -- concentration camps. anyone who could play anything, we had a peculiar collection of five people who could play an instrument. we were people trying to to be saved in this so-called temporary survival pose -- possible. we thought was wonderful to shut your eyes and forget where you are for a few minutes there people find it very offensive. i can sympathize with that. music was the biggest thing. the feeling to go away from auschwitz was fantastic. we didn't care where we were going, as long as we were going away from this unspeakable hell.
