slammed into a tree. the female driver was thrown from the car and the vehicle burst into flames. the victim was pronounced at the scene. the boulevard has been shut down at the accident scene while police investigate. new this morning, "action news" was there as water gushed from a ruptured main in philadelphia's fishtown section. it happened in front of the police department 26th district home that's the 1200 block of montgomery avenue near girard avenue. since it's so cold, the road became a little slick. the water department has shut off the main. it will begin repairs this morning. >> despite the cold and the approaching storm many people in our area will hit the road to watch the super bowl. >> the patriots surrounded by the deflate bait debate take on the seattle sea seahawks. we go to arizona where super bowl xlix will kick off under

philadelphia. kenneth moten said he passed away doing what he loved. >> reporter: it was the race named for the zip code and the community it runs through park wood in northeast philadelphia. one of the runners was kevin cornish who suddenly collapsed on the course and died. >> they say everybody is replaceable, but this guy is not replaceable. >> reporter: the 42 husband and father of an 11-year-old daughter was helping to raise money for the parish and the youth program. he fell near academy and tory roads. it appears he suffered a massive heart attack. >> here's a guy who last year got the bensalem officer of the year for alls charity work. he died doing charity work. >> reporter: he was a 12 year vernon the force part of the special victims unit specializing in crimes against children. a shock to the community because

>> reporter: let's show you the numbers, 27 degrees in philadelphia. as nydia mentioned, the snow is pushing in rather quickly. it's pushing into western pennsylvania and it could impact your super bowl plans later on. 27 degrees dewpoint, 14. wind out of the south at 3 miles per hour. that's shows we'll have milder weather move in the next 12 to 24 hours. we're warmer than yesterday at this time. allentown, 25 and trenton 25 degrees. the storm tracker 6 live double scan just as we were expecting snows to the north rain to the south. and this area of low pressure will kind of ride interstate 70 east until it gets into the mid atlantic and the northeast and it redevelops off the coast and another walloping for new england, places like boston could see 6 to 1 inches of snow.

we'll -- 6 to 12 inches of snow. we'll only get grazed as far as our area is concerned. most of us will see snow and ice going over to rain. actually there's the rain/snow line right there. from allentown points south. you will start out as snow and wintry mix all snow for the northern lehigh valley and the poconos. here's what to expect with the time line. light snow develops around 5:00, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., for the coast. light snow wintery mix. heaviest falls around 1:00 a.m. around 10:00 a.m., all this will shut off and we'll see mainly cloudy skies during the afternoon hours. as far as snowfall totals are concerned we're not looking at too much in philadelphia. the european model is the most bullish by far. a couple of inches. the gfs say nothing at all.

it's a non-event for philadelphia. for the lehigh valley these numbers come down, as well as we get closer and closer to the start of the event. all the forecast models are hinting at milder air. the gfs has dropped down to 3 1/2 inches. 89 urine under 5 inches. when you put it together, put it on a map the map will look like this when all is said and done. 6 inches for the the lehigh valley and the poconos. that would be scranton and poconos. 1 to 3 in the city itself. places like wayne coatsville and pottstown could see one to three inches. south of there we'll run the one-inch line through center city. it could start as snow, but quickly goes over to rain. as far as the morning commute difficult in the lehigh valley, not only will you see snow

accumulations, you'll see icy accumulations on top of that. northwestern suburbs you'll have a couple of inches of snow on the ground. the rain will start to melt everything. from the city points south and east wet roads with the system tomorrow morning. mostly cloudy today snow expected late. 37 degrees, that's the forecasted high. overnight tonight rain change after midnight. numbers increasing after midnight. 40 degrees tomorrow, there's a couple of forecast models that have us as warm as 45. we'll have to see how the numbers play out. rain in the morning wintry mix in the north. everything going over to rain. turning colder to tuesday 24. windchills in the upper single digits low teens. wednesday, 42, thursday, 30, friday mostly sunny skies and icy cold 26 degrees, so yeah, we'll see snow out of this, but

east into the delaware valley. 27 degrees in philadelphia. which is close where to where we topped out at yesterday we were 29. trenton, 25, millville 18 degrees. temperatures will moderate, 27 degrees by 9:00 a.m. 11:00 p.m. 32. 1:00 p.m., 34 and 4:00 p.m. 37 degrees. the numbers will increase after midnight. national weather service issued a warrant storm warning for the areas highlighted in pink. those are the areas that could pick up a significant snow accumulation out of this, as well as ice. it will be up he shall bucks and montgomery county and the lehigh valley and the poconos. for everybody's we'll see a coating of snow before it goes over to ice and rain. this will impact the lehigh valley and the poconos.

watching on storm tracker 6 live double scan. as we set it in motion, everything is traveling west to east. the high plains reporting moderate snow. there will be a swath of snow across the southern great lake states and the southern portions of the ohio valley and into our viewing area, as well. again, we'll dodge the heaviest snow just like the last system. if you're going to the super bowl you may encounter snow developing going home. by 6:00 p.m. the light snow develops. 10:00 p.m. the snow picks up in intensity. by 1:00 p.m. it's snowing north of the pennsylvania turnpike and rain and south the rain/snow line continues to lift north as we go into monday morning whatever snow and ice you see across the northern western suburbs it will flip over to rain by the time we get into

monday. monday afternoon the front barrels through and the temperatures plummet on the backside of the arctic front. we get into a situation we saw i believe was friday, the snow squalls part of the area, you saw sunshine and the expect minute you get heavy snow on the ground. we could see that monday as the arctic front pushes through. snowfall totals includes the city of philadelphia, 3 1 to 3 and north, 3 to 6 inches. lehigh valley, you could see # to 6 inches of snow, as well as a coating of ice. northwestern suburbs the roads will be slushy, especially the back roads. the city points south and east, rain. lehigh valley, expect delays, snow-covered back roads and icy patches a good bet. rainfall totals this is not

the 21-year-old walked down the aisle yesterday. she has been battling brain cancer since she was 8 years old. her boyfriend with whom she has a baby boy proposed in december. members of the community gave her a wedding at the hospice center where she is being cared for. >> i want to encourage someone whose out there listening don't give up, this is not the end there's always something out there that you can keep faith alive and fight for. >> the young woman said she takes comfort in knowing she fulfilled another chapter in her life and keep on living by her husband's side. we'll be right back.
