winter storm. south jersey strip mall goes up in flames damaging at least two businesses. a driver is dead after his suv hits a car and slams into a tree in delaware overnight. now details low temperatures this weekend have made venturing out down right uncomfortable this is as we prepare for our second winter storm in a week. sky 6hd is taking a live look at the center city sky line what you will see with this next round of wintry weather will vary depending where you are. some areas will get snow and even freezing rain, which could create some dangerous situations for the morning commute. meteorologist chris sowers is here with the update. >> what we have seen with every winter storm we have seen this winter season is yes, it is cold but when storm comes it moderates and we will get rain and snow. we have dodged bullets. it looks like this time around as we go live on sky six city and south abe east will dodge yet another bullet. the north and west you will not be so lucky but even there snowfall totals are not as

liberty international airport faces numerous charges for allegedly beating a homeless man with a chair. police say the 29 year-old guatemala man began acting erratically after arriving on thursday and missing his flight. police say he beat the homeless man as he was sleeping early saturday morning and threw a chair at port third police. the five two-year old victim was knocked unconscious and is hospitalized with serious injuries. acting today, new jersey governor chris christie is in london, england after launching and political action commit thee last week which could lead to a run for president. christie's visit to the uk is his third trip abroad in recent months. he will meet with prime minister david cameron in an effort to build his foreign policy resume. the the trip comes as christie considers entering the crowded 2016 republican presidential race. delaware is developing a new way of reporting school performance. the new accountability system is expected to include two parts. the first section would include proficiency rates as required by the federal

the slopes, you see a couple people out there, slopes for the most part are clear. spring mountain is an area that will see decent snow before moving to ice and then rain. it will be lehigh valley and poconos that picks up a significant accumulation out of this. storm tracker six live double scan showing a few flurries right now south and west. nothing too heavy. the just a couple of clouds and a few flurries. this is quickly pushing east. this is well in advance of a storm system which is still across the ohio valley right now. 28 degrees in philadelphia dew .15. wind southwest at 8 miles per hour. pressure reading 30.27 inches. al he even town 27. philadelphia trenton both showing 28. atlantic city 27. millville, 28 degrees. all of those temperatures are close to the high temperatures that we saw yesterday. so we're much milder then we were this same time yesterday morning but we're expecting temperatures to finish in the 30's, close to 40 degrees today. that is part of the warming trend that will create a lot of rain with this system. even so we see swat h of snow

moving through the northern ohio valley and southern great lakes states. by the time it gets here milder air floods region and it will flip over to rain. just a a limited amount of snow for most areas with this. here's future tracker six. as you make your way to your super bowl gathering and get together it is going to be okay but coming home we will start to see some of the snow flying. some will come down at a pretty good clip. the right around midnight hour between 10:00 o'clock and midnight is when snow picks up in intensity. the pennsylvania turnpike looks like the the dividing line at this point. north of there snow south of there, rain. overnight tonight rain/snow line lifts all the way up in the lehigh valley and poconos. everybody south of there it is all rain. that will continue throughout the midday hour tomorrow. then the arctic front barrels through around two or 3:00 in the afternoon and then temperatures fall off a cliff. we could see a few snow squals with that arctic front similar to what we saw friday afternoon where we see sunshine one minute and next minute you have a coating on the ground because it is snowing so hard. they would be brief if we pick

them up at all monday evening. snowfall totals this is looking like a non-event as far as the computer models are concerned for philadelphia. 2.1 on the euro but everybody else saying no. they are just showing just about nothing at all. but for lehigh valley snowfall totals are higher. you're seeing close to five, gfs close to four but nam and rpm is coming down and that is showing that mixing. we will see snow and then go over to sleet and freezing rain. expect necessity fall totals when you take all that computer information abe pit it on one map this is what it looks like. 6 inches plus for lehigh valley and poconos 36789 to six for far northwestern suburbs and one to three in the city and mainly rain for south jersey and delaware. lehigh valley is area of concern, for tomorrow morning, and, morning commute, it looks difficult in the lehigh valley. in the only will you see three to 6 inches of snow but an ice accumulation on top of. that but north western suburbs it will be slushy, especially back roadways as rain starts melting the snow that acylates

six.com/weather. you can check out hourly, seven day forecast with the latest call from our team of "action news" meteorologists. a one car crash on roosevelt boulevard has cost a women her life. action cam was at the the scene, 4600 block of the boulevard in the frankford section of philadelphia. the car went out of control at 4:15 this morning and then slammed in the tree. the female driver was thrown from the car. the the vehicle burst into flames. the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. the boulevard was shut down at the accident scene while police investigated. bensalem police department is mourning the tragic loss of a dedicated detective who died, while running a charity race this weekend. forty-two year-old detective kevin cornish collapsed and died while running the 19154, 5k, in northeast philadelphia yesterday. his collogues, they are simply stunned. they say it is a a loss for his family, the the department, and bensalem. >> there is a lot of creeps in jail and a lot of kid that won't be victims any more because of detective cornish.

has taken center stage in the north carolina courtroom. jonathan rust are ellis a former little league coach who is facing four counts of assault on a child for spanking members of his nine year-old son's baseball team over a six month span. is there an obscure law in north carolina that allows for someone to spank another person's child unless that child's parent has specifically told them not to. the president of the little league is trying to change that. hearings begin tomorrow. toddlers and ipads there is a debate among parents and pediatricians on whether you should allow your little ones to use tablets and if so, for how long. in taiwan it is actually illegal to allow kids underage 20 to use a tablet or smart phone. lawmakers have expanded existing legislation to say children under 18 are subject to restrict use. in taiwan they equate tablets and smart phone use by kids with other devices like smoking, drinking and drugs. parents can face a fine of up to 16 hundred dollars.

in georgia a community came to the defense of the man who was told he could not say have a blessed day to greet people at wal-mart. james phillips was banned from saying those word by wal-mart. that move upset people in the community. he took a stand in support of phillips. they held signs outside of store and greeted customers themselves with the man's signature greeting. phillips was moved by the the gesture. >> i didn't look to start a movement but i'm very appreciative that the people are standing up for me this way. >> wal-mart has since reversed its decision and says philip is welcome to continue to share his greetings with customers. ever since that greeting uproar phillips has been treated like a rock star. he has been hit by supporters who not only showed up in person but taken to facebook and called the wal-mart corporate offices by the hundreds to tell folks there that what phillips does matters. we will be right back with sports.

time for an odd unusual pictures of the week. last weeks blizzard proved to be lots of fun not just for people but for some animals at new england aquarium. this 18 month-old fur seal was caught on camera, playing in the snow. he wasn't alone for long as a few harbor seal friend got in on the fun as well. although they seemed content to stay in the the water there were no concerns about the seal's warmth. the fur seal has one of the thickest skins in the world so he was playing very comfortably in the snow. so, what do you have, who do you have winning today's super bowl, do you have a pick? the fort worth zoo it may not be scientific but one of the salt water crocodiles really put his teeth into his prediction. the the 15-foot crock named salty chose between two whole raw chickens that were suspended over his exhibit. one was painted seahawks green, the the other patriots blue and salty emerged from the water and grabbed, there you can see it, the green

seahawks chicken. the zoo says its animals have correctly predict super bowl winners the last five out of six years. we will see how salty did this year. a pennsylvania candy maker is giving a big kick out of the patriots scandal over deflated footballs. bill sar is has his staff make a chocolate football with a big dent in the side as you can see right there. it is not for sale but he posted it on facebook as a joke. he plans to auction it off and donate all proceeds to charity. he has named it the brady ball that is bradie, to avoid any legal issues. the pictures caption says net weight 13-pound. oops, we meant 11.2-pound. patriots and quarterback tom brady have been accused as you had may already know of using under inflated footballs in the afc championship game. nydia, those ballgames for today's big super bowl game are locked up, until three hours before game time. so, the game balls should be
