boys a 13-year-old and three 8-year-olds are over at childrens hospital getting checked out. they are under observation but are expected to be okay. meets want to know where the drugs came from and who is held responsible for narcotics coming into a classroom. police were called to mitchell elementary school just before noon after school officials reported finding students with crack cocaine. police tell "action news" that a 13-year-old boy brought the drugs packaged in small plastic bags and stored in a large plastic baggy, and while in and upstairs restroom he asked an 8-year-old boy to hold on to the crack and meet him at the corner store and give him $7 for holding on to it. the boy brought the drugs back to his classroom. he shows one of his other 8-year-old friends and he asked the friend to sniff it and he

asked a second kid and that kid does not and he goes to the counselors and notified them. >> they discovered the 13-year-old in possession of crack and the 8-year-old they believe put two packets down the drain in the restroom. parents were alarmed that the crack came into the school and the way the children passed it around. and even sniffed it. >> they knew to snort it so they actually know what to do the narcotics that is the thing that bothers me the most. >> the parents of the 13-year-old are expected to be questioned by police, it's unclear what consequences if any the children will face calls to a spokesperson has not yet been returned. i'm sara bloomquist channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. turning now to the forecast it's a blufrtery day today across our region and as we move into the evening hours it's going to get frigid.

caught on surveillance officers kevin robertson and sean mcknight are accused of beating this man, rivera after a traffic stop. a grand jury found the officers lied about what happened. only "action news" has surveillance video of the incident. it showed rivera never resisted or struck the officers coming up tonight at 6:00 the charges they face. steven woodson will go to trial with charges he sexually assaulted a woman in a parking garage in spring garden at 17th and callow hill streets, he followed her into the garage and robbed her and beat her unconscious and sexually assaulted her and she was able to break free and run for help. the personal information of tens of millions of insurance customers may have been pro

placed. customers of blue cross blue shield are at risk. >> hackers attacked the system of anthem the parent company of blue cross blue shield. they were the target of a very sophisticated external cyber attack. that gave them access to the i.t. system and personal information. this is the kind of person information that were obtained. names and birthdays and medical i.d.'s and numbers, and employment information and income data our viewers tell us that this email came after he reported suspicious activity to his insurance company and he got a strange phone call asking for numbers tied to his account. it's one of the nation's biggest health insurers and anthem is struggling to contain

the national security breach, the information from tens of millions of employees even anthem's ceo is compromised. they got a hold of personal information used for identity theft but there is no evidence that test results or insurance claims were compromised and anthem says that affected customers will be contacted about free credit monitoring and protective services. they have hired an internet security company to improve their defenses. they had have insurance breaches in the past and the ceo has apologized to customers on a website that anthem has to explain this problem for a link to this go to 6abc.com and you can get a free credit report there right now.

now the ntsb is trying to determine the conditions that led to the death of six people when a commuter train crashed into a suv tuesday night. lana zach is in new york with the latest. >> reporter: thank you, we are awaiting a meeting from the national transportation safety board and everybody is waiting for answers. as the names and faces are revealed today the ntsb is hard at work trying to answer the questions the most important on their minds why did this accident cause so many passenger deaths. >> very unusual for the third rail or any type of a rail to peel up and end up embedded in a rail car. investigators are trying to figure out why the third rail buckled and punctures the rail itself and stopping electricity and why was the driver on the tracks to begin with? were the warning signs advocate?

the arctic tundra of north pennsylvania the winds from the west are pulling down cold air and you see a little bit of snow pack one the coldest nights of season, 33 miles per hour wind gusts, a wind gust up to 43 miles per hour and allentown 46 and trenton 37 miles per hour winds, with the winds out of the northwest, it's pulling down very cold air. right now it's 26 degrees in philadelphia, and yesterday at this time, we were 46 degrees, wilmington 46 and millville 26. and when you factor in the winds it feels like 11 in philadelphia 14 in wildwood and 8 in trenton and 4 in allentown and in lancaster. in edition to that it's dry air, the next 24 hours bone dry, arctic air with dew points below 10 degrees, a lot of static

see a homeless person outside you are urged to call the homeless outreach hot line. and check on your elderly neighbors to make sure they are prepared as well. this heart warming reunion between a woman and her beloved dog almost didn't happen. the pup survived after spending nearly a week in the freezing cold. nora muchanic has their story from mercer county. >> this is a german shepard rescue, he escaped from his home in allentown new jersey and was lost for nearly a week and river was found thursday dehydrated and frozen to the ground. >> was weak and couldn't stand and was not responsive to us he was clearly emaceated. he lost 30 pounds the days he was missing, he was located in

the wood by dina, a snow shoe racer. >> i was just out of my mind. it's it's fact of not knowing it eats you away. dina searched for six days, tracking miles through the snow she was about to give up but something told her to keep going and finally she found him. >> he looked up slightly in recognition but it was like he wane there i didn't think he was alive. >> doctors at north star vets are treating river with iv's and a blood transfusion and pain meds, the dog is too weak to stand on his own and river was not intensely left outside and pet owners should take note about the devastating effects that exposure to the cold could have on animals. >> just because they have fur and can maintain their body temperature better than us prolonged exposure can lead to death and the doctors say river

he admitted to having sex with the girl on several occasions. and now police are looking for a hit and run driver that hit a woman in a wawa parking lot and kept going. surveillance cameras captured the scene and the driver hit 43-year-old alicia as she was walking to her car and she is still recovering and investigators want the public to take a good look at the pictures so they can catch the driver. >> philadelphia police are looking for a pair of thieves who robbed a pizza should be. one man pulled out the gun and demanded cash and the other walked around the counter and cleaned out the cash register. the clerk was not hurt. >> this is 46-year-old steven marshall of camden, he is charged with breaking into at least five homes in cherry hill. police picked him up because he matched the trips of a burglary suspect in voorhees they

tracked down a person that says that marshall told him some secondhand items. police say a chester county man that stabbed his brother to death earlier this week did so in self-defense. investigators say that 32-year-old earl bonini stabbed his brother nicholas to death during an argument on tuesday afternoon. prosecutors say that nicholas struck earl repeatedly with a chain and then called 911 and even performed cpr. a school football program in new jersey rocked by scandal, is looking for a new coach. seven players were accused of hazing and sexually abusing four teammates in a locker room here. the students will face trial in a juvenile court and their coach is suspended from his teaching

with action radar, arctic high pressure comes in from the west and that high is encompassing the lower half of the 48 scratching clouds from forming and it's quiet weather for thursday and friday and that is good news here, the high to the south and west tomorrow, it's chilly high of 33 degrees and windchills near 20 degrees but the windchills will not be as harsh as today and the boundary will be to the north on saturday with a southerly wind kicking in and we jump it up to 46 degrees, milder to begin the weekend with sun and clouds and this front will remain off to the north for the second half of the weekend originally the cold air to the north is stronger to push the boundary to the south for sunday but that is not going to be the case, that will stay to the north and that is where we see the rain and snow showers in northern new england, for us we
