to be the problem for a dog and its owner in delaware. two were walking along a retention pond when the dog broke free and ran under the ice and that ice had gotten thin. a "action news" reporter annie mccormack is live in wilmington with the exclusive story, annie. >> reporter: walter, that dog's owner was actually on that thin ice frantically trying to get his talk out of the water. luckily the professionals arrived just in time. the the frantic 911 call came from this dog's owner at day morning after she fell through the the ice at wilmington's gulf springs reservoir. >> she was yelping, crying she was, you know, frigid. >> she was trying to get herself out the but every time she would climb up it would break away and she would slip back in and it was apparent she would not the get out on her own. >> reporter: enter engine five water rescue team only "action news" was there as crew as arrived. >> myself, and a my teammates got our suits on and hopped in there as quickly as we could. >> reporter: rescue boat

channel six "action news". >> thanks, annie. police dispatch are from absecon, new jersey is under arrest after hitting a killing a pedestrian and police say he was driving under the the influence. alfonso dickerson was walking on the shoulder of tilton road in galloway township friday morning when police say he was struck by a car driven by 36 year-old rich a art doherty. doherty was arrested and charged with dui. more charges will likely be filed over the weeks to come. in hunting park, two men were injured touring this nasty two car crash at roosevelt boulevard this one happened in the southbound outer lanes right around 5:15 a.m. medics transported both men to temple with non-life threatening injuries. no word how the crash occurred. there is another hat in the ring for race for mayor in philadelphia a a. doug oliver announced his candidacy today in his native germantown. he previously served as press secretary for current mayor michael nutter. today he shared his vision for the city and said that the

basketball court named for him, and inside gallagher center on philly u's campus about 30 minutes ago. student and alumni were out of their seats celebrating with their team and hall of fame coach. magee is the first coaching in division two ape second in history to reach this monumental a milestone. before that big moment it was tense but exciting inside the gallagher center. for most of the game it was close as rams took own the university eagles. seven three-year old magee has been court side for the rams for 48 seasons now, his entire career has been at this school which is his alma matter. he led this team to national championship and 27 ncaa tournament, surrounded by fans, loved ones here's what the coach had to say about this big win. >> when the season is over, it it will mean something. i'll be honest with you the the way i feel, as i told all you folks, it is a relief because of all this going on. it didn't look too good early but it finally happened.
