five minutes, they opened two of the southbound inner lanes that were closed all day long, the northbound lanes still remain closed on the inner drive and the work is continuing back there and the out herb lanes northbound and southbound are all open. a little bit of an improvement into the rush hour but nothing like the mess in the morning rush. chopper 6 hd whereas overhead as thousands of gallons of water gushed from a water main break. >> one of you ploys noticed it and called it into the system. >> it was a muddy road of water. all the lanes were blocked on one of the busiest roads in the delaware valley. drivers looked for escape routes, this is the culprit a blownout transmission line. >> a blowout on a 16 inch main

>> thank you for that update. brand new at 4:00, a pennsylvania state trooper is facing charges in connection with the traffic death of one of his fellow officers, corporal richard schroeder is charged with five counts of reckless endangerment following the death of trooper david kedra last october. he accidentally shot him last month. he waived his preliminary hearing and is out on bail awaiting his trial. a lot of us woke up to slick conditions and the good news is temperatures have climbed above freezing. melissa magee is outside now with the accuweather forecast. >> reporter: hi shirleen and brian. we have improvement this afternoon, temperatures certainly did climb above the freezing mark, we had enough sunshine to get rid of the icy conditions from earlier today. philadelphia 40 degrees so far in the city, 39 in trenton and 26 in the poconos and 35 in beach haven and wildwood 41.

look at the 24 hour temperature change it's 10 degrees warmer in philadelphia than the same time yesterday degrees warmer in allentown and 9 degreed warmer in beach haven. don't get too comfortable however we are tracking changes, stormtracker 6 live double scan radar 3-d showing you an area of low pressure over the plains and the great lakes this is a clipper system working its way eastward it's a good, nice stretch on the way for the next 24 to 36 hours, after that we track the change on the way. the moisture arrives as we get into thursday afternoon and the evening hours this should not be a concern during the morning rush and rather that the afternoon and evening commute. the bigger story is the colder air that follows in its wake. check out the numbers, 33 degrees below 0 in cambridge canada, and 23 below in normal

mueller mueller, the last american hostage has died. karen travers is live with the details as well as a letter that mueller left behind before she died. >> reporter: today the heart breaking news of kayla mueller's death but no confirmation of how or when. u.s. officials were not buying it when isis said that the american aide worker was killed in a jordanian air strike and today more skepticism. >> there are questions about the tragic death of kayla mueller, they learned more from their daughter's isiscaptors. >> the u.s. government doesn't know how or when. isis claimed that the 26-year-old american aide worker was killed in a jordanian air strike but offered no proof.

responsible for her captivity and her death. karen travers, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you karen. 56 people from a flight from philadelphia to texas had to get out quickly during an emergency landing, sparks flew after the u.s. airways plan landed without their nose gear, they braced for impact but it was not as bad as they feared. >> we touched down it was smooth and we came to a stop and there were sparks and things flying out the window and smoke and you could smell kind of burning rubber. but we slid to a stop. >> foam was applied and everyone was forced off on inflatable slides and one person had minor injuries, investigators are trying to figure out why the nose gear would not deploy. we have new information on a deadly crash in bear, a total of six cars were involved in the

crash this morning, police say it all began when the honda accord was speeding on northbound route 13 just north of red lion road, the driver joseph keys swerved to avoid a chevy silverado and swiped the back of the truck and a honda accord and then he crossed the median and hit three other cars, 61-year-old katherine keys was killed and mr. keys and three others were injured in the crash and route northbound was closed for three hours. a celebrated little league team is accused of cheating to create a so-called super team. the jackie robinson west squad of chicago, became the first all african-american team to win the little world championship last year. they beat the taney dragons on the way to the title.

the man already charged in the abduction of a college student is also charged with her murder. police announced a new first degree murder charge against 33-year-old jessie matthew he is accused of killing college student hannah graham. matthew is due in court next week. there is confusion and controversy in alabama today after a federal judge overturned

crash, it's heavy and speeds of 18 miles per hour as you come north of academy road up to the accident scene approaching street road, normally we say head over to route 1 instead but lets see if we can send you over there, chopper 6 hd high in the sky over the water main break and they are making progress you but the northbound inner drive is completely blocked, that means three northbound lanes in which to get back heads up to the turnpike i would still avoid the northbound side of the boulevard but they are still making progress, they just lowered the new pipe in the hole as they continue to try to fix the water main. still just three northbound lanes i think i would avoid it. a crash on the southbound side of the boulevard at byberry road in the outer drive instead of that chunk of the boulevard in the northeast, use bustleton as
