bloomquist is off, and in the news the fbi is on the case as three muslim students were killed near a college campus and there are new calls for a hate crime investigation and a teenage mom and her newborn twins go missing. and the big story is dangerously cold weather that lingers through the weekend. people were braving the temperatures in their heaviest gear this morning in center city. temperatures were below 0 and there is no relief in the future. melissa magee in for david is at the "action news" big board. >> hi there rick, as you mentioned we have dangerously cold windchills to contend with and it's because of the blustery winds coming in from the northwest today. we drop down to 9 degrees below 0 and poconos 27 degrees below 0 and 15 degrees below in allentown and 10 degrees below

alongt coast in atlantic city. winds are constant out. northwest and gusts as high as 20 miles per hour in the poconos and gusts in atlantic city 30 miles per hour and a gust in millville of 24 miles per hour. when you factor that in you want to dress in extra layers. 1 degrees below zero in atlantic city and degrees below 0 in the poconos. and as we go through the afternoon hours not much of a recovery along the way, along the 95 corridor 2:00 this afternoon most spots feel like 10 degrees and still below 0 in the poconos as we get into 6:00 this evening, for your ride home, most spots feel like the single digits and teens once again. lets talk about what to expect as we press forward, we have deceiveing sunshine on the way but gusts of 30 miles per hour winds through the day and

property. and now police will investigate the deadly shooting. the death penalty is suspended in pennsylvania after the review of a moratorium. governor wolf says this needs to be renewed especially after six men on death row in pennsylvania were exonerated. it grants a reprieve for any inmates scheduled for execution in the keystone state. currently pennsylvania has 109 inmates in the state on death row. a fire destroys homes in avalon, it started at 11:00 and spread to neighboring homes on fifth avenue nobody was hurt but it took more than a dozen local fire companies to get this under control. they told us the cold weather and high winds made it very

difficult. >> two firefighters were treated for exposure to the bitter cold. they are now investigating the cause of this blaze. arson vestd dirts were called to a scene of a fire at an islamic center in houston, texas, the owners were planning to use it as a family center and a school. nobody was hurt but the building was destroyed. no word on what sparked the blaze. well, the fbi is now on the case of three muslim college students murdered near the university of north carolina. police say that the people were murdered because of a parking dispute but the fbi is investigating a hate crime situation. karen travers is live now with more. >> reporter: good afternoon law enforcement officials are trying to figure out the history between the shooter and his

three victims irk the father of the two murdered sisters say it was clearly a hate crime and they were all shot execution-style. >> the grieving family and friends of three muslim students murdered in north carolina are trying to make exception of this tragedy yesterday an immense outpouring of support with more than 5,000 people on hand the father demanding justice. >> this has hate crime written all over it. craig steven hicks an out spoken atheists killed a dental student his new wife and her sister inside of her chapel hill apartment. they were each shot in the head execution-style and that hicks harassed the three in the past about their islamic culture and the fbi has launched their own

investigation. >> we asked the federal government to intervene with this. >> and the chapel hill police says their initial investigation says this crime may have stemmed from an ongoing parking dispute at the apartment complex where they lived. hicks' wife said the same thing. >> feel like something just snapped. >> but hicks openly posted on facebook his response to what is happening in the middle east. able yix. >> he has not yet entered a plea and if convicted he could face the death penalty. karen thank you. back here it's a lucky thing nobody was hurt when a giant chunk of marble fell on to a sidewalk in center city last night. the slab came loose on chestnut

a school bus veered out of scroll where six kids on the bus when a bus driver suffered a medical condition behind the

wheel. an officer caught it on a dash-cam ra and the bus went into a ditch and almost tipped over eventually the trooper used stop sticks the kids were pretty shake and up and the 68-year-old bus driver was taken to the hospital and there are no details about his condition. the murder of an attorney is under investigation in the nation's capital, he was stabbed to death inside of a washington d.c. hotel and police released surveillance video of a person of interest pacing in the lobby and taking the stairs to the same floor where the attack happened. the victim texted his wife monday night that he would be home in an hour and when he didn't show she filed a missing persons report. and now three men that committed an armored car

robbery. one guard fired and scared the suspect away. they are still trying to identify the suspects. this was the scene in missouri after a woman accidentally left her car in gear it fell off a retaining wall while she was inside of it. she was inside with her children when it suddenly started to roll and then got them out and started the vehicle but it was too late and the car plunged 20 feet to the ground below she has a broken arm and various bruises but is expected to be okay. president obama is expected to headline a summit at stanford university on cyber security. the president is expected to sign an executive encouraging them to share information with each other as a first line of defense. they cited the recent hack of sony pictures as motivation to
