things up and water service was restore. a man using a kerosene heater to heat his home was killed overnight, in kingsessing. investigators say there were no smoke detectors inside but apparently either the the heater went up in flames or something near it the caught fire just after 10:30 p.m. crews quickly responded and blaze was under control in a matter of minutes. but still it was too late for the victim. fire officials want to remind you if you use a space heater make sure to keep it at least 3 feet from anything flammable inside of your house. a police officer in bucks county was injured this morning when he was investigating a case of the stolen car. suspect ended up striking the officer, ramming his patrol car and tried to take off. a "action news" reporter chad pradelli picks up the story from there. >> reporter: early morning chill was interrupted by gunfire in morrisville this morning, a six year veteran of the morrisville police department was on routine patrols, when he spotted what he thought was a vacant vehicle running outside this

7-eleven. >> he ran the tag and didn't stop the vehicle but trove around the parking lot and came back in and tag came back as a stolen vehicle out of bristol township. >> reporter: as the the officer approached the car he realized someone was inside, that is when police say suspect threw tonight to reverse, striking the officer and his cruiser. >> the officer fired two shots at the the vehicle, hitting the driver in the chest. >> reporter: suspect was able to drive off but he crashed down the road on west bridge street near stoke's nursery. bullet hole could be seen on the driver's side. he was taken to the local hospital and arrested. the injured officer was brought here to aria health torresdale campus and he was treated for non-life threatening injuries talking to the chief of police he said the officer is now recovering nicely at home. police are not releasing the corporal's name a father of two and six year veteran of the force who oversees criminal investigation for the department. suspect's name has not been released. he faces attempted murder charges. in morrisville, chad pradelli

meteorologist melissa magee has the accu weather forecast with some nasty conditions moving our way. >> it is white out conditions once these snow squalls move through, you have to watch out for out and about on this valentines day night because visibility will be reduced, walter. we will show you storm tracker six live double scan, we have light snow showers around earlier today but you do have things that are starting to fill in once again to our south and west. we are going to go in tighter

on storm tracker six live double scan street level. to the south of wilmington on i-95 there in maryland to the north of edgewood, you can see that snow, lavender indication of the heavier burst of snow starting to move in. from the west/east direction we will track this activity. we have snow showers building in down across route one there in smyrna dover, and areas in south injuries friday salem glassboro to millville and sea isle city. we are await ago this snow squall and peak time period to find the activity now right through 10:00 o'clock tonight. temperatures outside it is 35 in dover. 36 degrees in wildwood. we have the exception of those two locations, everyone else is either at freezing mark or below. thirty in philadelphia with the wind chill currently of 24 degrees. the just 15 in the poconos. twenty in allentown. twenty-seven for both reading and lancaster. satellite six with action radar a, this is frontal boundary that we are tracking. clipper system is moving on

through but we have to await the arrival of the arctic front, so once that comes through that is when we have the heavier burst of snow and snow squalls. this area of low pressure and front will work its way east, and this will be a blizzard, once again for areas in new england more specifically boston. future tracker six timing it out # 30:00 this evening you can see snow starting to develop across the region. we have seen reports west of philadelphia, and west of our viewing area where we already had white out conditions with the the snow squals moving on through. they will continue by 10:00 o'clock tonight. we have heavier burst down across south jersey but a lot of the activity will die out by then. overall we are calling for general one to 3 inches of snowfall. so that is first story. the other part of the story we are tracking for the second half of our weekend is intense wind. this area of low pressure bombs out to the south of boston. so hurricane strength area of low pressure. we have arctic high pressure to the west. pressure gradient in between that will cause wind to gust

as high as 60 miles an hour as early a as tomorrow morning. so powerful wind on the way. gusting across the region anywhere from 50 to 60 miles an hour, branches and trees more than likely will be knocked down as well, possible power outages on the way and not good time with most spots and most temperatures below freezing. make sure you have a backup plan in case power gets knock out. here is the other part of the story. if you thought friday morning was cold in check out future trashing wind chills by tomorrow morning. 7:30 in the morning on the i-95 corridor, really every where, we will be is your zero. 19b low in the poconos. 11 degrees below zero in philadelphia. unfortunately by tomorrow afternoon, not much of a recovery as most spots below zero or at zero a as we get into our sunday afternoon. here's the other part of the story, the coldest temperatures on the way, in the past 21 years, we have not seen temperatures reach 2 degrees. that will be the overnight low, early morning low
