cold. if you see animal chained outside call (267)385-3800 or contact animal control in your area the pet's owner will be fined. water froze over on the hellos as firefighters battled a blaze on the # 300 block of berkeley street in the germantown section. 7 people did escape the home safely. two people in a neighboring home escaped, but both houses were damaged in the fire. an investigation is now underway to determine what sparked the blaze. two people were killed in a crash on a snowy chester county root. it happened on route 100 at north ship road. police tell "action news" a minivan carrying 6 people were turning right on to route 100 when it was hit by a pick up truck. two people in their teens or early 20s were thrown from the

minivan and killed. the driver of the truck was arrested. no word on what charges the driver faces. >> delaware state police are investigating what they call a suspicious death after an 18-year-old boy was found dead inside a home. it happened in mearmd maryland court. he was found yesterday morning. police were initially called for a shootings at the home. authorities are waiting for an autopsy to determine an official cause of death. the former mayor of georgetown delaware passed away at 89. he served as mayor from 1952 to 1988. he was the sussex county town crier. always town crier he would stand on the courthouse balcony on return day two days after voting to announce how sussex county voted. >> police in new jersey need your help in identifying two armed robbers take a look at

the levittown 2 1/2. dover, 1 1/2. cape may closing in on hurricane force 74. cape may picked up a wind gust of 62 miles per hour. brandywine 61. louis, delaware, 61. tuckerton, 58 animal -- and florence 58 miles per hour wind gusts. the two combined produce dangerously cold windchills. windchill advisory has been issued by the national weather service for the entire area. windchills during the course of the day will stay below zero. they will reign anywhere from 5 to 15 degrees below zero and colder overnight tonight. windchill warchtion in -- in effect for the poconos. reading, 16 below. lancaster, 16 below. poconos minus 19. wilmington minus 16. and philadelphia minus 11. forecast for today bitter cold, feels like minneapolis windchills 5 to 15 below.

16 degrees will be the forecasted high and look at this overnight tonight. into tomorrow morning record cold temperatures arriving actual air temperatures, that is windchills 15 to 25 degrees below zero. it's dangerously cold stuff. it's nothing to play around with out here. if you're outside for an extended period of time. one i wouldn't advise that, if you're outside, bundle up in layers and stay warm. guys i send it back inside to you. >> the high winds are being blamed for flocking down a huge tree. >> it landed on top of a home in newtown square, delaware county and seemingly sliced through it, annie mccormick joins us outside the home with all the details. annie? >> reporter: good morning, nydia and eva very lucky family in delaware county today. take a look at this home right here, that tree that fell, there was a 9 on the-foot oak when it fell it crossed across four

bedrooms and hit the family's minivan. the home is destroyed the minivan is destroyed. four people were inside, amazingly nobody was hurt. >> a crash came down on me, it woke me up right away, i could see the frame of my belt room slamming down on me. i was sleeping in that bed right there. >> reporter: and that's the home owner who walked us through his home this morning. he was in the master bedroom when this all happened the tv room was his wife and 2-year-old daughter, his son was in his bedroom. his wife handed his 2-year-old daughter to him. he got his son out of the home and when firefighters responded she did help his wife escape. again, none of them were injured, but the home was destroyed. that happened before 2:00 a.m. this morning. this is not the only casualty of

the high winds. take a look at this video from east falls this happened on west school house lane that's where a tree fell and pierced the roof of an apartment buildings and the tree branch went into a man's bedroom. that man also not hurt. we're back out here live there's a lot of work to do for this family luckily they have their in-laws to stay with around the corner. they are waiting for the insurance adjusters to come out here. but at this point they are pretty confident this is a total loss, reporting live in newtown square, annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." >> high winds are being blamed for bringing down utility wires this morning. it happened on bridge street in the city's bridesburg section. fire crews were called at 6:30 a.m. when the wires went down peco is on it is scene fixing the downed wires. no reports of outages due to the

chained outside00. owners will be fined. firefighters battled a blaze and water frees on -- frees on the hose in the germantown section before 1:00 a.m. that hose eventually busted causing the water to shoot out like a sprinkler. the fire forced seven people out of their home before spreading to a neighboring home pushing two more people out into the cold. investigators are trying to determine what sparked the blaze. >> two people were killed in a crash on a snowy chester county road northbound route 100 north ship road in exton. a minivan carrying 6 people were a turning right on to route 100 when it was hit by a pick up truck, two people in their teens or early 20s were thrown from the minivan and killed. the driver of the truck was arrested, so far no word on what
