reaking havoc across the region. >> winds are blamed for knocking a large tree over in delaware county and through a home. >> the bitter temperatures make things difficult for firefighters battling the wind overnight. meteorologist e meteorologist chris sowers is grinning and bearing it outside hi chris. >> reporter: i've lived here my entire life i don't remember it feeling much worse the winds literally sting when you step outside. new jersey, you were the grand prize winner in new jersey, 5 inches of snow. ewing, 4.4 and with the arctic front these winds picked up 62 miles per hour. that was the peak wind gust recorded in cape may. tuckerton, 58 miles per hour. and florence 58 miles per hour. now the big issue we have two to four inches of snow last night.

get in the seven-day forecast when i see you in ten minutes. >> it was a scare for a delaware county family when a tree suddenly crashed into their home. high winds are blamed for toppling the tree on the tomorrow in newtown square. a family of four was inside at the time. a woman was trapped but firefighters got her out. he she and the other families members were not hurt. it sounded like an avalanche when the tree crashed into the roof. a branch crashed into a roof of an apartment building on 2900 block of west school house lane and punched through the ceiling of a man's bedroom. >> it's probably 3 4 feet. >> reporter: not close enough. >> 234089 close enough, but i was standing right when the branch came through the ceiling. i was getting ready to go to bed and the thing the branches came through. >> l&i is checking the

cold. if you see animal chained outside call (267)385-3800 or contact animal control in your area the pet's owner will be fined. water froze over on the hellos as firefighters battled a blaze on the # 300 block of berkeley street in the germantown section. 7 people did escape the home safely. two people in a neighboring home escaped, but both houses were damaged in the fire. an investigation is now underway to determine what sparked the blaze. two people were killed in a crash on a snowy chester county root. it happened on route 100 at north ship road. police tell "action news" a minivan carrying 6 people were turning right on to route 100 when it was hit by a pick up truck. two people in their teens or early 20s were thrown from the

minivan and killed. the driver of the truck was arrested. no word on what charges the driver faces. >> delaware state police are investigating what they call a suspicious death after an 18-year-old boy was found dead inside a home. it happened in mearmd maryland court. he was found yesterday morning. police were initially called for a shootings at the home. authorities are waiting for an autopsy to determine an official cause of death. the former mayor of georgetown delaware passed away at 89. he served as mayor from 1952 to 1988. he was the sussex county town crier. always town crier he would stand on the courthouse balcony on return day two days after voting to announce how sussex county voted. >> police in new jersey need your help in identifying two armed robbers take a look at

the video from luk oil on admiral wilson boulevard. the pair robbed a man on a bike at gun point. they were seen leaving in a neeson you ultima. if you recognize these men call police. a bank robber may be on the run, but mri say he was caught on camera. investigators say this surveillance video shows michael taggart robbing a bank last tuesday, if you know his whereabouts call 911 immediately. >> a popular center city restaurant had to close it's door on the biggest night for lovers because of a broken pipe. it left love birds without reservations and the employees without tips and profits. the pipe broke inside the restaurant forcing it to shut down for the night. >> much more to come on sunday

bedrooms and hit the family's minivan. the home is destroyed the minivan is destroyed. four people were inside, amazingly nobody was hurt. >> a crash came down on me, it woke me up right away, i could see the frame of my belt room slamming down on me. i was sleeping in that bed right there. >> reporter: and that's the home owner who walked us through his home this morning. he was in the master bedroom when this all happened the tv room was his wife and 2-year-old daughter, his son was in his bedroom. his wife handed his 2-year-old daughter to him. he got his son out of the home and when firefighters responded she did help his wife escape. again, none of them were injured, but the home was destroyed. that happened before 2:00 a.m. this morning. this is not the only casualty of
