coldest lows we've seen in decades. >> and monday will be down right cold. tuesday morning we could have several inches of snow open the ground to may the two-day morning commute a mess. we have team coverage tonight. live at independence mall we begin with meteorologist melissa magee with more on what we can expect and when. melissa. >> sarah walter, it all starts with the wind and cold we're experiencing for the second half of the weekend. from peak wind gust we saw earlier today and early this morning cape may, 66 mile an hour winds. brandywine and new castle county in delaware, 61 mile an hour wind gusts. 59 in vineland. philadelphia had a gust this morning of 54 miles per hour and in west grove a gust there in chester county as high as 52 miles an our hour. that's why we have wind chills most of the day below zero and still subzero at the 6:00 hour. it's 4 degrees below zero in allentown and 13 below in the poconos and feeling like zero in

philadelphia and 2 in wildwood and 7 degrees below zero in trenton. that wind chill advisory continues and stays up overnight tonight right through 11 a.m. on monday as we call for wind chills anywhere from 15 degrees to 20 degrees below zero. so that's just one feature that we're tracking, wind and cold. and now you want to focus attention to the west. stormtracker 6 live double scan radar 3d showing you we're tracking a storm system early monday night into tuesday. there's an area of low pressure to the wet of denver, colorado and also moisture gathering across the southern gulf coast states. these two pieces of energy link up and work east ward affecting our area monday night to tuesday. two things that changed with this the track of the storm system and timing. we have to speed things up here. winter storm watch is posted overnight monday into tuesday. the exception will be lancaster berks, lehigh, morning am ton counties and poconos. there's a good indication we'll find moderate snowfall for a

good chunk of viewing area and we'll go overall of the details in the full and exclusive accuweather forecast, walter. >> thank you melissa. drifting snow caused high wind and blamed for a one-car crash in langhorne that injured one person near intersection of bridge town pike and langhorne yardley road. the driver lost control and struck a pole. someone inside that car was rushed to a local hospital. no word on the victim's identity or extent of injuriesch the road was shut down for a little while because of snowdrift there and the icy conditions. high winds toppled a huge tree right on to a home in delaware county. narrowly missing a young boy as he slept in his bed. "action news" reporter annie mccormick spoke to the child's father who said it's a miracle his son survived unscathed. >> sleeping in that bed right there everything came crashing down. somehow missed me. >> justin quigly is amazed that they're alive after an oak tree

fell on to the home sunday morning. quigly was sleeping in master bedroom and daughter and wife watching tv in the room next door. >> that couch my wife and 2-year-old daughter were sitting there when it happened. sounded like avalanche coming down i hear them screaming and crying, help help. >> he grabbed his daughter and ran to 5-year-old son's room. >> he was crying and after five, ten second i thought he -- looked like a tree trunk came crashing down on him. >> that trunk takes up his son's entire room and quigly is still amazed he thinks it's a miracle his son survived. >> broke down crying and holding my son. >> fire crews rushed to the scene and helped quigly's wife get out of the home and they helped other ought and made it out up harmed. this is how massive the tree s take a look at the root and tre trunk is this wide and this is what fell on top of the home. contractors are estimating it's almost 90 feet tall. the tree tell through the middle

no issues with precipitation. as we get into monday night and tuesday we're tracking a storm systeming coming from south and working the way north and east. with that we have winter storm watch that is already posted. the big story today in wake of arctic boundary that came through last night. blustery winds. gusting as high as 54 miles an hour. now we're down to 24 miles an hour whipped gusts and 35 miles an hour in the poconos and gusts along wildwood 25 miles an hour and 28 miles an hour in dover. most of the day all of the day really we have subzero wind chills and not much in the way of recovery rights now. it's 13 below zero and the poconos feeling like 4 below zero and allentown goose egg in philadelphia 3 degrees below zero and millville and feels 2 degrees along the coast in wildwood. here's satellite 6 along with action radar you can see mainly clear and quiet across the region. there's the storm system that walloped new england and boston picked up 13" of snowfall. it's dry and quiet for the rest

of tonight. for the call from accuweather for the rests of tonight showing mainly clear, still windy. near record lows. these are the actual air temperatures we're forecasting. 4 degrees below zero and allentown and in philadelphia and 8 boardwalk and below zero in toms river. we have records to watch. overnight tonight and into monday. philadelphia if we hit degrees will tie the old record and make a new one. setback in 188 and also the coldest temperature we've seen in city and in more than two decades. in wilmington we need to watch the record as well. wilmington close to that and atlantic city watching for a record low morning temperature for you and clinton your record 1 degrees. future tracker 6 to the west coast we're tracking area of low pressure and weak disturbance moving across the four corners region. this disturbance will link with moisture to the south and work its way east ward. this is why we have that winter storm watch. it's already been posted for mid-atlantic region, delaware and lehigh valleys. you can see my monday morning

snow across the southern ohio valley. a big ice storm arkansas, step ten and carolinas, you have rain to the south of that. and overnight, monday into tuesday, this storm system will be working east ward and this storm is different in the sense that it's not clipping along. you have that strong system that already has that moisture established and the cold air is also already established which means we'll have some high snowfall ratios more than likely across the region. as far as expected snowfall monday night to tuesday for philadelphia and areas south and east 4 to 8" of snowfall. lancaster, berks, high lie, northampton county, poconos you can find to 4" of snowch the storm system and mol elz with the storm trending further north faster. we may have to adjust the amount of where we see that 4 to 8" line across the reej yovrm. what's expectsed in timing. it begins 9 p.m. through midnight. it's a light, fluffy snow. overnight non tuesday and heaviest will fall while sleeping and early on tuesday
