tragedy for a family in delaware county. a huge tree look at that fell on top of a home newtown square narrowly missing a young boy asleep in his bed. justin quickly said the tree nroomd his home before 2:00 this morning it sliced through the roof and into his son's room. >> he was crying and for five, ten seconds i thought he was gone. it looks like a tre trunk came crashing down on him. >> as you heard right there quigly says for a few terrifying moments he thought his son was dead. in the end though, he, his wife and two young children escaped unharnld. but the home is all built destroyed. it will takes days for contractors to remove the giant oak from where it fell. >> high wind and drifting snow were to blame for a crash in langhorne bucks county near the intersection of bridge town pike and langhorne yardley road. someone inside the car was rushed to a local hospital. no word on the victim's identity

tell you about that hour. gusts of 25 miles an hour in philadelphia and gusts as high as 37 in the poconos and and 30 miles an hour. when you factor that in most spots feeling subzero. most of the day. temperatures are filling like we were subzero. not much of a recovery tonight. 40 below in philadelphia, 17en low in poconos 17 degrees below zero as well in allentown and it feels like 9 degrees below zero in atlantic city. which is why, in fact, that wind chill advisory is up through 11 a.m. monday for our region. here's satellite 6 and action radar storm system long gone. boston picked up more than a foot of snow. it's clear and quiet and record lows on the way. overnight tonight and into monday. widen out the picture however what we are tracking as a storm system already getting its act together. you see energy moving out of four corners and moisture breaking out ahead of that. you see the snow moving across

southern ohio valley and region it's ice. ice storm in arkansas, tennessee and eventually carolinas and rain south of that. this moisture will work its way southwest to northeast direction overnight monday and into tuesday. for the start of the day tomorrow extra layers will be needed. it will be all about the cold. sun giving way to increasing clouds as we go throughout the day. monday night you could see it's mostly cloudy. then by 11 p.m. tomorrow night you can see the snow for philadelphia in areas south and east it continues as we get knee tuesday morning. so the commute on tuesday morning will definitely be tough going for the city or south and east even though that snow is all of the delaware and lehigh valley. so expected snowfall in early call from accuweather it does look like first of all this storm system has a lot of moisture to work with and also temperatures at the surface will be well below froozing in advance of the storm system. we're calling for high snowfall ratios. for philadelphia, areas south and east, 4 to 8" of snow and 2 to 4 for areas norm and west,

lancaster, berks lehigh, north am top and up to the poconos. as far as the timeline goes monday night to tuesday the snow breaks out between 9 p.m. at midnight and white and fluffy snow on the way and heaviest occurs during the overnight hours and in time for the commute. tuesday morning the storm system looks to wrap up by noon on tuesday. however, if there's eye shift or deviation in the track and the storm system wants to pull a little further north we may have to adjust the snowfall totals and expect that. the accuweather forecast showing arctic chill sticking around. periods of snow, high of 30. wednesday, cloudy and few flurries and snow showers around 32. another bitter blast moves in thursday. 19. 22 on friday. and another possible storm adds we get into next weekend, guys, a lot going on. david murphy is up next at 4 a.m. he'll have the latest bri then. >> all right melissa thank you. >> chinese new year officially arrived on thursday and it started early today in cherry
