good afternoon in the news this noon, a search for a bandit that stole up to $100,000 from a new jersey bank. and a philadelphia police captain is hurt in a hit and run, the details on an accident on a busy highway. >> but the big story is the deep freeze, and several deaths in our region are being blamed on the extreme cold. that is five people and a 66-year-old allentown man who wandered away from home and died of hyperthermia today. sky 6 hd is looking live at penn's landing, windchill advisories are in effect across the region and temperatures plunge close to zero by tomorrow morning. eva pilgram is live outside but first lets get the latest from meteorologist, david murphy, over at the big board. >> the temperature is not treating us kindly this noon 23

in philadelphia and we'll probably hold there for the next several hours 19 in wilmington and 17 in allentown and there say wind coming down from the northwest and that knocks the windchills down across the region feels like 2 if philadelphia and 2 below zero in reading and trenton. you get the idea, everybody suffering and windchill advisory are in effect, as we get past dark and into tomorrow morning, windchills are a factor and temperatures drop even lower and we wind up with windchill values to 15 below zero to 25 below zero. i'm setting this up showing you the colder air to the north and west, this is the direction of the wind off the great lakes and we are dishing these colder numbers down into the region as we step into tomorrow morning today's high probably stops

around 20 where we are now. if we hit 1 tomorrow morning that will hit the record low set in the state in 1979. as we take a look at the windchill danger this evening with gusts up to 35 miles per hour and dropping temperatures you wind up with windchills below zero and maybe even 15 below, you combine the wind and you get the severe windchills and frostbite is an issue as we go into tomorrow morning. temperatures are not treating us kindly for february this is the calendar of the days we registered so far, only three days in the month of february are above average, save this one february 7th we were at average and some of these days 28 degrees below average last monday and these two days will knock us down overall. we are 7.7 degrees below average hour by hour this month.

>> police are trying to figure out what led to a collision in delaware county on the blue route, one car went up the on ramp, and one person was pronounced dead on the screen and police closed the ramp to 476 north and traffic was backed up to i-95. well, today is the tenth anniversary of the disappearance of a philadelphia couple and the fbi now says they are convinced that danielle and richard were the victims of a professional hit. they were last seen leaving a bar on february 19th 2005. this morning police and the fbi held a joint news conference on the case and david henry was there and will have a live report with reaction from the victim's families coming up later on "action news" at 12:30 the murder trial opened today for a woman accused of

performing deadly cosmetic surge, police say that paj winslow injected her buttocks and crazy glue, winslow has pled not guilty and opening statements began this morning. investigators are blaming contaminated instruments for infecting at least seven patients in los angeles. it may have contributed to two deaths at ronald reagan medical center. karen travers is following the story live now from washington. >> reporter: this outbreak has medical outbreaks very concerned. officials at ucla say they cleaned the scopes according to the standards set by the manufacturer but they say if the scopes are not cleaned properly

the bacteria can spread. a warning going out to 180 patients treated at ucla's ronald reagan medical center they may have been exposed to a deadly bacteria. >> its a potent organism that could cause death. >> a super bug called cre, officials at ucla say they are i.d.'d two reuseable scopes that may have spread the bacteria and they removed them. the hospital said in a statement that so far seven patients have tested positive and an internal investigation may have contributed to two deaths. ucla sterilized the scopes to standards. >> if it's not cleaned properly it can spread from one person to

police are looking for a well disguised bandit that stole $100,000 from a new jersey bank, the suspect wore a red wig and sunglasses and carried a large weapon into glen rock savings, they are not sure if it's a woman or a man dressed like one, he dropped the weapon that turned out to be a paint ball gun. nobody was hurt during the robbery. there are devastating pet owners in chicago this noon after their dogs were stolen during an armed carjacking, someone stole a doggy day care
