is headed our way and it will make for snowy icy, miserable day tomorrow. >> sorry about that. friday night and the big story on "action news" tonight is a winter storm watch posted for much of the region. let's get right to adam joseph at the big board adam, you have the latest information from accuweather. >> from record lows again tomorrow morning to a mess with that changeover from snow to sleet, freezing rain, and rain. but we will salvage the second half of the weekend. right now look at temperatures. they're bone-chilling. 4 allentown 4 lancaster, 1 below zero air temperature in millville and atlantic city breaking a record for the day. it's at 0 and that will break another record as we get into the morning hours. in fact, we take a look at map here for tonight's lows. more records by tomorrow morning. less wind. we're not having harsh wind chills tomorrow morning. 0 in atlantic city, 5 in dover. 6 arecord in wilmington and 3 trenton and 2-b low in allentown

and this arctic air will number place as the system arrives from the south. right now it's a warm front. you see the snow, sleet freezing rain breaking up. this warm air is puncturing or trying to override the existing arctic air. you ring the atmosphere out and the moisture expands to the north. winter storm watch in effect tomorrow evening and north and west philadelphia advisories to the south and advisories mean less in the way of snow, sleet and freezing rain for southern areas. it creates travel issues tomorrow. so, here are your impacts for day. it's dry in the morning. so no impacts. by noon light snow breaks out and minor impact. in the afternoon that snow will quickly turn heavy very fast and major impacts tomorrow afternoon and evening all across the region. jim when i come back we'll talk about the amounts, timing and also talk about more arctic air coming in for it next week. >> all right adam. let's check in with "action news" reporter john rawlins on kelly drive in fxtd john it's

fire broke out in 86 story building in dubaich the apartment building is actually called torch tower. and at the time that's what it looked like. the fire apparently broke out on the 52nd floor. and nascar has suspended super star driver kurt busch indefinitely over allegations of domestic violence. a judge in delaware ruled that it is likely that bush strangled patricia dris dmal his motor home at the dover international speedway in september and smashed her head against the wall. his lawyer says they plan to appeal the suspension. >> on "healthcheck" at 11 new study says sun damage happens after dark. researchers from yale university says energy absorbed from the sun by skin cells transfers to dna in the darkness and they think an evening suncreen with vitamin e could be dochd block that transfer.

more information about watch abc is on 6abc.com. a broken water pipe forced a delaware theater to close on this busy friday before the oscars. the incident happened at 5:00 tonight at the cinmar christianne theater we have no word when the theater will reopen. we're going to have a very unpleasant weekend or at least the first part of the weekend. here's adam joseph. >> big difference from start to finish. it will be really bad tomorrow afternoon and evening and sunday really spectacular. we'll make up for it as we look at double scan radar all is quiet now. it's bitter cold out there with record lows. some areas already hitting those records. take a look at numbers. 2 below right now in millville. it is zero in atlantic city. 2 below me mounts pocono. 4 allentown and true arctic air is in place. and with warmer air that's pushing in tomorrow it will be hard to really kind of move numbers upwards and that's why we see that mixture as that

transition occurs. satellite and radar. lot of clear sky now. that polar air and arctic air it's so cold it holds little moisture. you cannot even get the clouds to form. here are the records in allentown. breaking old record of zero. negative 2 tomorrow morning. 3 trenton. 6 wilmington. tie for atlantic city airport. close to philadelphia but we should be shy by 1 degree. as we look at satellite and radar we see the precipitation breaking up. leading edge white is snow. you have some of the sleet. then you have freezing rain in blue and then rain down to the south of memphis and all that marches north and east. the latest models are trying to push it back a little bit. coming in a little later which would not be bad if you have to do errands. west of philadelphia, 2:00, puncturing i-95 by 3 4, 5:00 and once that snow starts i cannot stress this enough. it is going to fall very heavy very fast. and accumulate very fast

tomorrow afternoon. so if are you doing errands and there's a couple flurries falling it's going to be hard to get home home. that's how quickly it will accumulate and by 8:00 mixture in philadelphia, rain south. snow in the lehigh valley and by midnight most of the area seeing rain at that point. few morning showers sunday and by noon on sunday the sunshine will return. to the south where we saw the jackpot last go around, 1 to 2" of wet, heavy snow. not flurry, 2 to 4". norristown to west grove. before that changeover. and off to the north in the lehigh valley 4 to 6" as that cold air kind of locks in and does not allow the warm air to push in very quickly with the system. as we look at the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast. afternoon, evening snow tomorrow 33. transition happens south to north from evening to overnight hours. and everyone begins with a few rain showersp sunday morning.
