at penn state tonight. thousands still hanging in there more than halfway through this 46-hour dance marathon. first it's about the weather tonight. messy mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain creating tough conditions out there. we continue team coverage of the storm. "action news" reporter kenneth moton is live in king of prussia. how commuters are coping. we begin with meteorologist melissa magee to find out what we can expect in the hours to come. >> we're seeing transition across the delaware and lehigh valley. trenton, philadelphia we have mixed precip. wilmington and across areas in vine land, atlantic city, cape may, we have a transition from snow that we had earlier over to rain we'll go in tighter on stromtracker street-level from trenton to philadelphia we have frozen precipitation. and ice. also a lot of icy conditions. wintry mix going on across route 7 0. medford lakes berlin, glassboro. and liquid precip moving into

of roads -- won't know conditions of roads until we wake up tomorrow morning. that switchover to rain happened two hours ago after a day of snow familiar. take a look. this was penndot at work with more than 400 trucks tackling five-county region. we had a lot of state roads in chester and montgomery county. we saw snow-covered highways we could not see planes. drivers dropped speed not only for safety but mandatory after speed restrictions were put in place earlier today. people reported long travel times what usually took 20 minutes took on hour. that bad news slip and slide crashes and good news there was not a huge or high volume of traffic on this saturday which kept traffic moving. roads slippery. take it slow. i'm open my way to jersey and going to caribbean tomorrow and i'm not going to let snow stop me.

philadelphia traffic on major highways remain slow tonight due to slick conditions and conditions. penndot tried to keep one 250 trucks on the streets. earlier today drivers were getting stuck in wynnefield heights. freezing temperatures this week made it difficult to prepare for the storm. >> we had plenty of residual salt there from last weekend's stormch the concern we had is if we would go and brine with temperatures of roadways and air temperature, will we cause a worst problem with the brine freezing to roadway. >> and some septa bus routes are us is spended or detoured tonight. >> and many people had a tough time driving through manayunk tonight as you imagine. a few volunteers gave the push it needed to get up manayunk avenue. somewhere stuck in the middle of the road. >> wheels were spinning all across delaware as well. some cars were stuck unable to get traction on slippery roads and it was not any better for

philadelphia. it's been a long day. areas north and west of poconos allentown, reading lancaster we have that snowfall. we have mixed precip from trenton, to philadelphia, along the 95 corridor moving to norristown malvern pottstown. on route 22 2 from allentown and south and west to reading we have a couple of pockets of moderate snowfall. so we have to watch for this activity as we go throughout the overnight hours. eventually once warmer air punches into the system milder air over spreads and we transition from snow to sleet over to rain. and temperatures outside it's 33234 in philadelphia. 33 millville. 36 in wildwood. and so we're starting to see transition. the problem, though, the ground is so cold it's been very cold with out -- arctic outbreak of air overhead. it takes time for temperatures to respond and get that warmer air moving into the system.

25 allentown. 22 poconos. 26 lancaster. here's satellite 6 and action radar. moisture over spreading the region and we continue to do so south teeingts northwest direction. future tracker 6 timing out for you. during the overnight hours you can see at that time rainfall in city and areas south and east. for poconos to allentown and even into reading we have that snowfall that will continue. 7:30 in the morning you can see we have rain for lakehurst, atlantic city, millville wildwood and dover and a lot of viewing area starting to clear on out. so light rain, drizzle early in the morning. it's damp start tomorrow. clouds will break for sunshine as we go throughout the day. 4:00 in the afternoon. few pockets of sun overhead and milder temperatures. milder air coming in which means by the afternoon temperatures climb in some spots to lower 40s. the call from accuweather tomorrow morning breaks of sun.

nice by the afternoon. 42 city. 44 cape may for high and 46 dover. to north and west in allentown temperature maxs out 30 and upper 30s as well in reading. here's the exclusive accuweather 7 someday forecast as we get into the afternoon surprised it's a milder day. high of 42. and arctic air moves in on monday and in at 23 degrees. overnight low on monday it's another chilly one. just 6 especially as you wake up on tuesday morning. it stays cold. especially by the afternoon. and in at 26. morning snow shower possible wednesday high of 39. reinforcing shot of cold air on thursday. high of 27. friday it's sunny and cold. coming in at 30. and possibly a wintry mix that we're tracking as we get into the start of next weekend with high temperature then of 34 degrees. milder tomorrow walter. we'll start to salvage second half of work weekend. >> sounds good to me. thank you, melissa. >> family in camden in mourning
