mid county toll plaza there was a crash north of this and the southbound lanes of the northeast extension between lansdale and mid county. that crash did shut down that stretch of the northeast extension, but we understand the and he thinks has just reopened. so again a crash it was on the southbound lanes northeast extension between lansdale and mid county. fortunately that stretch of roadway now reopened. let's go out now to meteorologist chris sowers and accuweather. >> hey, chris, good morning to you, nydia it's a difficult morning, specially on the back roads, bridge also and overpasses we're seeing slush and icy patches. if you didn't get the opportunity to shovel the walks and drives yesterday before we flipped over to snow and freezing rain and rain, you'll have a much more difficult time doing it now. we went from the light snow to heavy, wet snow. if you're out there now

i step back inside. >> the latest storm has land landed another hard punch. >> plain rain came down on top of roads and sidewalks caked in snow and ice that's leading to concerns of slick spots this morning. mobile 6 is live along the schuylkill expressway heading toward conshohocken westbound. the schuylkill expressway looks good this morning it's the side roads and the ramps that you need to aware of and be extra careful on. even the driveway or sidewalk at your house will be icy this morning. watch out as you head out. there are concerns about refreeze on area roads after yesterday's storm. penndot is trying to keep up with the quick accumulation on the roads. the record-low temperatures this past week made it more difficult to prepare for the winter storm. >> we had residual salt from last week's storm the concern

problems for road crews the rain could wash away salt and create icy conditions. the department of transportation is sending out a warning for crews out and about today crews are doing what they can but drivers should remain vigilant. >> in delaware, the action cam saw a caravan of salt trucks clearing i-95 in newport. a car went off the road and got stuck in a snow bank. scenes like this are playing out all over the area, so be careful if you're heading out. >> a winter storm hit maryland before it came here to the delaware and lehigh valleys. 8 inches of snow fell in baltimore. the snowstorm wreaked havoc on roads. the storm dumped 5 inches in washington, d.c. and several inches on already winter walloped boston.

you, nydia, this is one of the problems you'll have removing the snow. yesterday was the light fluffy snow for the most part and then it flipped over to sleet and freezing rain and rain. this is what the bolders of snow look like. look at the bottom. this is very very heavy. that right there that weighed a good ten 15 pounds, it will be very difficult to remove the snow from the walks and driveways. take it easy, take it slow, remember to bend at the knees and take you're time. there's no rush to get all that snow off the walks. we're seeing slush and parking areas are iced. the target parking lot looks good, most of the snow is off but there's slushy patches out there and there's a lot of slush on monument. storm tracker 6 live double scan showing the moisture is coming to an end, we have light rain across south jersey, but the heaviest is long gone.

monday night into tuesday i'll talk about that in ten minutes. >> the snow was coming down this morning in the lehigh valley. drivers here and elsewhere had to contend with snow build up on some of the roads. even some of the guys with a plow the action cam on route 70 in cherry hill saw this truck driver slipping and sliding in the parking lot of the whole foods. even a quick trip meant cleaning snow off the car for a second time. >> drivers had to handle the snow and ice mix. we get that coverage from annie mccormick. >> reporter: minor accidents in the eastbound lanes of the schuylkill slowed traffic always drivers creeped by. city avenue, small cars struggled to get up hill. vehicles negotiated the oxford circle covered with several inches of snow. >> we have 250 trucks on the street. primarily this will be a plowing
