commute. cecily tynan has all the details. >> hi stormtracker 6 live double scan showing the storm system i'm tracking it's a pretty big storm and the low pressure is near new orleans is where the low pressure tracks off the coast of the carolinas and the good news is we won't get a direct hit but a glancing blow from the northern fringe and it be occurring during the morning commute. tomorrow morning at 8:00, you see the snow reaching near philadelphia, it's a very fast moving system it wouldn't be here all day long and by 2:00 is moves out and clouds break for sunshine. but there are winter weather advisories tomorrow from atlantic city, hammonton and millville and all areas to the south, this is where i expect to see the most accumulating snow but that storm system the track is edging farther to the north, i think in philadelphia we'll

my life, glad she is home and a lot of good people worked on the case and i appreciate everything everybody has done. >> trotta has a long criminal history and faces charms of carjacking and assault. and now the remains left behind after a home explosion in ocean county. now it's just pieces of foundation and rubble. debris was scattered damaging other homes in the neighborhood and a nearby dash-cam was recording when the explosion happened and they say there was a crack in the street's gas line allowing gas to collect in the utility room and eventually it exploded. 15 people were hurt including a gas worker who remains in critical condition tonight. >> investigators say that a wife of a prominent hospital executive died last year from a stab wound. john and joyce sheridan were found dead after a fire in their

hom in somerset county that is where we find david henry with more on the story. >> reporter: this is where it happened. the bodies of john and joyce sheridan were found in their bedroom, the bedroom had been set on fire and ever since the flames of controversy and conspiracy have lapped around the edges of this investigation. 72-year-old john sheridan was ceo of cooper university health system and politically connected, a former new jersey transportation commissioner and joyce sheridan was a retired school teacher, we now know that joyce sheridan was murdered. the medical examiner says she died of a stab wound to the chest that stabbed her an or the a. the m.e. has not ruled on the cause of john sheridan's death he was also found stabbed in the

bedroom that was set on fire, the unusually prolonged investigation has led to speculation but no answers. could it have been a murder-suicide or were both killed by someone else. investigators have questioned the sheridan's four sons and say they played no roles in the deaths. but one was found with illegal drugs and paraphernalia the day the bodies were zofrd. investigators say the public is not in danger that indicates that the sheridans were not killed in a botched burglary of some kind. >> the spokesperson for the attorney general says they will not have anything conclusive until the medical examiner rules on the death of john sheridan. live in skillman david henry channel 6 "action news." >> thank you david. pennsylvania state representative cheryl parker lost her final appeal to

overturn her conviction on dui and reckless driving charges parker was found guilty two years ago when she was stopped driving the wrong way on a one way street in german town. no word yet when she begins they are jail time. the arrest of 32 suspects breaks up a major drug ring in pennsylvania montgomery county officials announced the details about an investigation that led them to folks bringing heroin and meth and cocaine into the state. john rawlins live in norristown with the latest on that. >> reporter: well, at one point in time eight different law enforcement agencies helped out on this case we are told. authorities say it began more than a year ago when a south american police department started listening into on a phone conversation between a columbia drug dealer and a man here in norristown. it's a box full of wiretap

evidence and 32 defendants the first piece of evidence was heroin, that came from a phone conversation in columbia michael daly. and then buck county detectives found new information. that led to douglas earhardt of norristown they first thought they were two different enterprises but phone records showed otherwise. in the analysis our detectives found links and a call to the d.a. from a man over what crystal meth did to a loved one. >> i put him in touch with our team and he was able to identify the men supplier as douglas air hard the d. arc as the arrest of the norristown men produced what is on this table guns,

near new orleans and tracking off the carolina coast we'll get clipped with the northern fringe of that low pressure but the track has shifted farther to the north that means that the southern half of our viewing area will see some snow really the bull's-eye of this storm are in north carolina and raleigh will get 6 to 12 inches of snow, this is a major snow storm there, here is more of a nuisance event primarily due to the timing because it's falling during the morning commute. at 11:00 tonight the clouds built in as we head through the overnight hours at 6:00, we begin to see the light snow breaking out from atlantic city and dover and areas to the south, by 9:00 it reaches the i-95 corridor we could see showers to the north and west.

accused of trying to kill a philadelphia police officer is underway, a south jersey -- and actor, comedian and philadelphia son kevin hart spots by the linc to talk about his upcoming comedy show. and now the details edward davies spent more than one month in the hospital after being shot during a 2013 traffic stop the man that allegedly pulled the trigger went on trial. davies had several surgeries and lost a kidney during the attack. vernon odom is here with more tonight. >> reporter: officer davies still not able to return to his job here nearly a year and a half after his near death confrontation with eric torres

who could wind up in jail for many decades. this is eric torres on trial for allegedly trying to kill a veteran police officer back in 2013 officer davies was injured in that confrontation, the shooting went down in a corner mini market where torres was wrestling with cops including davies. >> he crashed his vehicle and took off in the vehicle into a store where he shot officer davies. >> officer davies lost a kidney trying to recover from a close range shot to the abdomen, he spend two weeks in a coma. the defense told the jury that davies did not fire the weapon.

dangerous. the search is on for two thieves that assaulted a female clerk while robbing a south philadelphia grocery store this is video from the 23 block of south ninth street the pair checked out the store and came back several hours later and one man jumped over the counter and put the clerk on the floor and covered her mouth and the other man cleaned out the register took cigarettes and lottery tickets. rosa rios is accused of stealing lunches and lunch money from students she was suppose to be transporting. the alleged thefts happened over the past to weeks. rios is understand investigation in another theft she is held on $70,000 bail.

the pickup truck driver involved in yesterday's crash of a metro rail in california is charged with felony hit and run they say that this man jose ramirez took the train tracks for a highway and turned on to them and left the truck at the scene and was found a mile away. more than 30 people were hurt within the train crashed into an abandoned vehicle. there is more information on the showdown for homeland security. lawmakers have cleared the way to senate pass able to fund the agency. but that does not include immigration provisions opposed by the white house. some conservatives there say it's a surrender to the white house but others predict the legislation will clear. the funding deadline for homeland security is friday.

sizable storm the center is near new orleans and there is a big area of precipitation with this and that low pressure is moving off the cape hatteras coast. this will have an impact on the morning commute tomorrow. the timing is a problem, by 8:00 the snow is here generally south of philadelphia the good news is it's a fast moving system. by the afternoon it's history and clouds break for sunshine but the problem is the morning commute. the national weather service posted winter weather advisories for cape may and cumberland counties. this is the area in purple we expect the highest accumulation of snow but even in philadelphia we could get a coating of snow. the light snow moves in between 4:00 and 6:00 in the morning and moving out around lunch time and the heaviest is south and
