good afternoon in the news another gas explosion at the jersey shore, a man is pulled university alive. what he told investigators about the blast. two men could be facing charges after their truck plunged into a frozen river. ment big story is the slippery way we started on monday. a layer of ice covered everything on this frozen march morning. annie mccormick has the story she also live from roxborough this noon with more. hi annie. >> reporter: hey, you both know that roxborough and manayunk are tough whenever it comes to snow and ice. still like the one behind me. now a couple of hours ago it was tough to go up that hill and get back down. now things are getting better. last night about 83 salt trucks were suburbed around the city of -- disturbed around the city of philadelphia to help out now the warmer temperatures are

40 in millville. 36 in trenton. lehigh valley hovering above the freezing mark. 33 in reading, 34 in allentown. still in the 20s in the poconos. we'll get lots of melting during the day. salt light and radar showing some of the lake effect snowshowers that we're seeing moving down from the north but starting to see a break up in the clouds, as well to the we also and showing us we'll get to see the sunshine that's going to help the ice further that we had. the next system not that far away. future tracker 6 showing at 4:00 tuesday right during the evening rush we get the snowfall that moves through the region. look how quickly it changes to blue that's an icy mess. this effects you tuesday afternoon into tuesday evening. it's rain through your wednesday morning commute. we've had a lot going on with the weather. that continues to be the case the next couple of days. here the travel concerns over the next 24 hours.

explosion that injured 15 in staff folder township. >> 20 homes in south philadelphia are without water after a water main break. the intersection of 15th and christian was flooded and some of the water made its way into properties. crews are inspecting the foundations of the damaged houses. the water exarm is out there -- water department is out there making repairs. the aftermath of an accident involving a snowplow is causing problems today. deldot had to make repairs at route 141 and route 100 in greeneville. a long time snowplow prairmt operator, snagged low-hanging wireless. traffic signals were knocked off line, but nobody was hurt. >> two men in new jersey could be facing charges after a truck fell into the frozen river.

the vehicle went on to the ice and spun in circles before it broke through the water. police launched a rescue and found a dead dog in the truck. the driver and passenger both missing. they may have to repay the cost of the search which could thousands of dollars. they are asking any witnesses to come forward. we're hearing now from the woman pointed to lead philadelphia school reform commission after a big shakeup yesterday. governor tom wolf removed bill green as the chair and replaced him with marjorie neff. she said this morning i would like to recognize bill green for his strong leadership through difficult times. green sailed he would continue to help in his demoted role of commissioner and possibly fight the move in court. governor wolf did not give a specific reason for the switch, but he did say philadelphia schools are in dire financial straits and the children are

during week. morning lows were down to 32 degrees, we got a quarter of afternoon inch in many spots. even though temperatures didn't dip below freezing in many areas, still it was enough. we were holding on to the freezing mark. got down to 25 in allentown and reading. 22 in the poconos. 29 in lancaster. since that time we have rebounded. up to 38. sunshine melting. the dewpoint has dropped. the winds out of the west/northwest at 17. philadelphia, clocked a gust of 29 miles per hour at the airport. it's gusty at times out there. satellite and radar showing we're seeing more breaks in the clouds and that's nice. more sunshine mixing with the clouds. you can see the snow showers up to the north and western pennsylvania, not affecting us. we're dry for the rest of the day partly sunny skies. 40 degrees for the high, partly sunny skies 5:00 p.m. 37.

the evening commute you're final with traveling. 9:00 p.m., 29. look at the overnight low, 18 you'll see a refreeze in the morning. 4:00 p.m. on tuesday during the evening drive you can see the snow spread out through the region. we have the area of blue overtake the region. that's the icy mix, looks like the evening commute could be tough at 5:30. at 9:00 p.m., we watch the temperatures rise at night instead of lower so we'll see the changeover to rain. it's a lot to deal with and the time period will be tuesday afternoon into the evening when we get the icy mix. tomorrow we're dry in the morning, slick spots with the refreeze. it's the afternoon and evening commute that's tough with snow and ice changing over to rain at night, 35. the periods of rain, wednesday. temperatures are well back and forth freezing in the overnight -- above freezing in the overnight.
