wall of white is taking up much of the viewing area and as we come in closer to stormtracker 6 live double scan it ended in allentown and easton and milford and quaker town but still snowing at a light to moderate clip in chester and philadelphia and as far west as lancaster. as we slide to the south you see the wall of white here as well all through the state of delaware, and heavy snow in parts of southern new jersey south of the atlantic city expressway expressway. if we look at the rates per hour, dover smyrna and milford, rates of 1 inch of snow per hour that was further to the north this afternoon and the heavy focus of the snow is pushing to the south and here it will ease as well and that particular line of heavy snow will push off the coast as we

look at the snow totals so far in pennsylvania we are forecasting 2 to 4 inches across the viewing area and so far that is on par philadelphia 4.5 at the airport and drexel hill 3.4, exton 7 inches and in the lee valley 6.4 inches and the state of new jersey delaware, newcastle 4.5, mount laurel 6.7 and half a foot for ewing and millville 3 inches but that number will go up with the heavy band of snow so far. i bring in meteorologist, sts is the, you have the good news for everyone here, when does it shut off and north issue for tomorrow morning. >> the snow is shutting off from the northwest to the southeast. it's done in allentown and reading and it will be done in the next half hour, really ending the snow by 5:00 tonight. along

the coast you were the last to see the change over to snow and you'll be the last to see the snow move out between 6:30 and 8:00 tonight. we are cooling off through the day, we started with temperatures in the 30s, the heavy wet snow and now it's 22 degrees and the light fluffy blowing snow and syracuse 12 and ottawa 10 and that is pulling down the very cold air tonight you will want to shovel and treat your driveway and sidewalks because temperatures are dropping down to record cold. philadelphia the record low for tomorrow morning 10 degrees set back in the 1970s, we'll likely tie that, all the areas with the asterisks asterisks, they are tied or broken reading 3 and lancaster dropping down to 4 degrees. winds will not be very strong but when you have temperatures that low even a little bit of a

3:00 this afternoon one man got out just fine, this building is owned by a development corporation, it was being used for offices and art studios and it was being renovated. it's believed that the snow and ice likely played some role but the ongoing construction may have been a factor. this is an area of warehouses and a few homes nearby and residents describe what they heard and saw. >> i heard a crash i thought maybe a transformer blew, and then i went out side, i took a few seconds and i looked up and i seen daylight through the windows and i said oh that is more than a transformer blowing. >> it sounded like a freight train and a bunch of car accidents i look over and i saw debris and it looks like smoke but just snow blowing off the roof. >> as we look back live, a woman came by the scene a short time

ago, she is a volunteer with the kensington south development corporation, they put in for a grant to repair the roof a few days ago and she agrees that the snow likely played a factor in this roof caving in this afternoon. i'm sara bloomquist channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. we are keeping a close eye on roads all day long, mobile 6 is driving right now heading north on broad street, just know this conditions incredibly treacherous out there it's very slick and slippery you are urged to stay off the roads if you do not have to be on them. we'll have a complete check of traffic conditions in about 10 minutes. lets get a look at delaware the action cam is showing us conditions in wilmington and that snow is coming down at a steady flow and fortunately the roads are not filled out there. one or two cars passing now.

take it easy out there. >> good to see people heeding the warning. now to new jersey, it was quite a wintry mess in trenton but south jersey is really in the bull's-eye nydia han is live in cherry hill with a look at the neighborhoods out there. >> the snow has changed here in cherry hill, it's lighter now and blowing sideways this is route 70 cars are rolling along but yes we are urging people to take it slowly you can see the snow is very snow covered. and look at the wawa the a flurry of activity all day not every place remained open, the cherry hill mall stayed open until 2:00 p.m., people are getting a jump start on cleaning making shoveling an all day activist.

king of prussia is one of the hardest hit areas this time left behind shows us the change over to rain to snow that is where we continue our live look at conditions around the region today. lets check in with wendy saltzman. how are you making out there wendy? >> reporter: we have been blasted here all day, there is a steady stream of snow still coming in it's this way since we got here at 10:00 a.m. this morning, we have about 8 inches of snow as can you see, in king of prussia we are getting a ton of snowfall in this area and in terms of the people we talked to right now about this march storm, the reviews are pretty mixed. >> ankle deep snow and unplowed streets kept most of the people in king of prussia indoors and snowplows kept getting stuck trying to plow the streets. >> my toes are cold, i'm freezing i hope to get home soon, my son is waiting for me. >> sheila henderson had to go to

mess incredible images out of new york city as this delta flight from atlanta skids off the runway at la guardia airport and crashes through a chain link fence, the passenger his to walk through all the snow after climbing off the plane the plane carrying 25 passengers and crew members veered off the runway at 7:00 this morning, there are 28 injuries but everybody is expected to be okay. this photo snapped by one of the passengers jared posted on facebook saying to more seconds and we would have been in the water. the special ops team showing the plane plowing through the fence and the spokesperson with the port authority says the plane is apparently leaking fuel. so the runways at la guardia are shut down at 7:00 tonight and that leaves the airport crammed with stranded passengers, trying to reroute and the ntsb

it's rough and continuing to clean up a crash in the northbound direction a fedex truck, that ran into the median barrier the lanes are open, and they are still snow covered in philadelphia also snow covered with no traffic moving on the pennsylvania turnpike. at this point at valley form and downingtown, multiple jackknifed tractor trailers the westbound pennsylvania turnpike completely blocked to all traffic, i would send you to 202 and 30 but you will have a number of issues this dump truck ran right off the ramp from the southbound side of 202 to the westbound side of 422 this happened at 10:00 this morning and they are not even bother they are leaving the poor guy in the ditch hopefully the guy is not in the truck in the ditch. this is chester brook a disabled suv they are trying to

get towed away, people are slipping and sliding and if you head out now you run the risk of doing just that be prepared if you go out and throw a shovel in the trunk. one stop in exton this is the wramp from 100 westbound a spinning truck here that just cleared out they got that towed away and that ramp reopened. wilmington and newark and they are not running because of amtrak problems and cynwyd line just resumed service, we'll talk more in the next half hour. >> thank you matt. now, to the exclusive accuweather forecast, as we wait for snow to move out, people on twitter are like, will it ever end? >> it feels endless and once it goes the frigid air fileters in. adam joseph is here and you are just a messenger i don't know

what is worse the heavy snow or record cold, they are coming back to back. double scan live radar it's beginning to fall apart in the central part of pennsylvania and that line will continue to push to the east as we wipe this store off the coast as we take a closer look it's still time for i-95 to the south and east, on double scan closer we start to fade the colors from the bright whites to a dullish gray from lancaster to reading approaching pottstown andmal vrn as well as norristown, we see the intensity lessen so you can start to get out there and try to shovel this if you can, because it will turn rock solid as we go through the early morning hours with such cold temperatures pushing in. to the south these stripes of purple setting up from mays landing to fortescue and milford and cape may heavy bands of snow continue to hit those

areas this was the last area to turn from rain to snow. it was wet and heavy earlier and now light and fluffy, so underneath the light and flurry snow, there is a lot of slush and water content in the snow pack and that will turn to concrete tomorrow morning. visibility is greatly reduced u. you can't see much from the pagoda cam and this will dramatically increase over the next half hour to 40 minutes, jump to allentown where the snow stops 10 mile visibility and we'll watch the numbers quickly pop up from the northwest to the southeast where in wildwood now, zero visibility with heavy snow, only 19 to the north and west, 21 in philadelphia and mid to upper 20s to the south, future tracker showing at 7:30 the only areas seeing the snow at that point is the shore. 21 allentown and 22 in

philadelphia. temperatures in the teens to the north and west with the stars quickly returning and the lows 2 to 10 with snow to stars with the record cold, the numbers we are watching records are tied or broken some of them set back in the late 1800s like trenton and atlantic city. it's some time for many of our suburbs that have seen temperatures this cold this late in the winter season. bus stop forecast tomorrow if there are no delays when you head out first thing in the morning 6:00 to 8:00, 11 to 10 degrees and windchills near 0 tomorrow morning. as you look at the four day at 4:00 forecast sunny and cold, a high of just 26 degrees, saturday chilly for march and 38 degrees with high clouds and then we turn the corners into the 40s on sunday and turn the clocks ahead before you go to bed on saturday and turning even

is live in delaware but first lets go to adam joseph for the latest on what is left of the winter storm. >> not much left in the far northwestern suburbs, parts of lancaster and the lehigh valley and northern parts of buck county still snowing heavily south and east of philadelphia, moderate snow from middletown, smyrna in delaware and you bump over the bay, elmer is dealing with light to moderate snow but a heavy band from atlantic city right down the garden state parkway to sea isle city and you can see the snow in avalon stone harbor and cape may and this is about an inch per hour and a quick accumulation of that light fluffy snow in cape may county where it took the longest to flip from rain today to sleet to snow this after non-.

future tracker shows that clearing line will push from the north to the west and all the snow will be off the coast by 8:00 and temperatures continue to drop into the lower 20s area wide, even in southern areas by this evening, and in fact snow totals in roxborough and that section of philadelphia closing in close to 6 inches officially, king of prussia now taking the jackpot at 9.1 inches coatesville and chester county 8 inches and mount laurel 6.7 inches of snow so far. if you want to listen to anything try to clear off your car tonight and shovel off the driveways and sidewalks if you don't underneath the fluffy snow it's wet and heavy and that will freeze solid tonight. as we get record lows pushing in by tomorrow morning. we'll talk about those numbers and much warmer numbers in the seven day coming up. >> thank you.

a snowy scene in conshohocken the action cam caught a few slow drivers, and they had plows to clear their path and these kids not about to let this perfect packing snow pass them by they were building a wall for their snowy igloo. >> looks like fun nora muchanic is out on both sides of the delaware river she joins us live from norrisville with conditions in bucks county. >> reporter: hi there we are on east bridge street right now on this hour on a normal day is filled with traffic, state workers leaving and coming to the pennsylvania side, not today tons of people have stayed indoors, morrisville is just one town in buck county that is digging out this evening, and the snow is still falling, earlier today we visited yardley for a look at things there and one woman that is trying to think positively. >> 46 or 47. so it's getting there.

will be busy for most of the day as the snow continues to fall, officials in delaware urge people to stay off the roads today. unfortunately not everybody heeded the warning and that led to accidents chad pradelli is live now in newcastle he has details on that. >> reporter: hey brian we have seen several accidents that sent several people to the hospital we experienced a steady snowfall and the wind is blowing and we have 4 plus inches in newcastle, that is north dupont highway. you can't see the block top anymore. a steady wind swept snow pounded the first state this afternoon, reducing visibility and making this a miserable one outdoors. >> i want to take it easy on the highways and not go too fast and be cautious and careful.

>> it's even worse on the side roads, this three car accident on the philadelphia pike shut down the road for nearly an hour, three people were taken to christiana hospital for minor injuries police responded while another vehicle slammed into a retaining wall, the word from del/dot and the governor. >> we want drivers that do not have to be on the roads to give del/dot plows the time and space to work efficiently. >> the plows are focusing on the major arteries secondary roads will be plowed once the snow has passed and warmer weather in sight, people of the delaware valley are saying it's about time. >> i want the summer to come, real quick. it's too cold out here. >> it is too cold out here, a biting wind. >> i saw 50 degree temperatures coming next week and i tell you i can't wait. chad pradelli channel 6 "action

news." >> we are right with you my friend. thank you chad. you saw the mess in delaware lets get a check of the roads around the region, matt pellman is live in the traffic center keeping his eyes on the slow going out there. >> not me personally. >> you were on point. >> yes absolutely right on the roads they are an absolute mess, and you do not want to head out if you don't have to. it's a mess out there we don't really see a lot of blacktop on these roadways this is 422 westbound side approaching 29 a couple of vehicles involved in an doesn't and it looked like one was missing a wheel and police and penndot are on the scene taking out the left lane and traffic is moving slowly. if you are trying to get to 422, you'll pass this poor guy this dump truck down in the ditch the ramps especially are

treacherous this guy ran off the ramp before the roads that bad at 10:00 this morning and they have not pulled him out yet. this is the scene along the pennsylvania turn ping, all lanes are shut down in the westbound direction from valley forge to downingtown, we have multiple jackknife tractor trailers on the turnpike they threw in the towel and said we are closing the whole thing westbound turnpike out of commission, 2020 to 30 is the way to get around it. but problems on the way this is the schuylkill expressway, eastbound side of the blue route people are spinning their wheels and this truck cannot gain traction and the ramp is blocked. it's a balancing act with the speeds, you can't go to fast you need some speed to make it up the ramp. now the road is snow covered and speed restrictions of 35 miles
