cameras are being checked for clues, jims opened on north 62nd street in 1939. "action news" was in whitpain montgomery county as firefighters knocked out a fire 800 block of dekalb pike. the building was vacant. firefighters were contending with ice forming on the roads and sidewalks. flames destroyed partly of an apartment complex our delaware newsroom covered this story. the inferno ripped through two buildings the woods edge project. the buildings were under renovation and vacant. the fire is under control, the cause is still being determined. chopper 6 was on the scene as crews rescued a driver trapped inside their vehicle. the driver lost control and slammed into a tree on the 1400 brock of trenton road. the driver was taken to the

hospital with serious injuries. police are investigating what caused the driver to lose control. chopper 6hd was high above as firefighters worked to free a horse stuck in a ditch in edgemont, delaware county. the animal fell into the ditch. the required was not hurt, but the horse couldn't get out of its own. it took an hour to pull the horse to safety. a search party will be out looking for a missing 13-year-old boy from newtown square. he left his home wednesday and hadn't been seen or heard from since. last night a professional search and rescue team has been searching for him. his parents said he left home because he was upset because of trouble with school work. >> this is the first time he's been on his own for any lent of time. >> he was last seen wearing a gray ski jacket and black panels and boots his family created a

facebook page to help in the search. a 13-year-old is missing the teen suffers from depression, police say she hangs out in the area from 60th to 63rd streets between market and locust. if you know where she is call southwest detectives. philadelphia job rates went up 1.5%. the rate across the nation is gaining steam. the jobless rate fell from 5-point # to 5.5. but the robust numbers prompted fears of interest rates that caused investors to beat a hasty retreat on wall street, the dow lost 297 points. the most expensive car ever, we have details on how

two armed suspects, brothers walked in and announced a holdup. officer wilson pulled his weapon confronting the two now caught in a raging gun battle. >> he is moving back and forth firing at both suspects who were firing at him. he was taking ruined, he was actually being hit during the exchange of gunfire but he continued to fight and shoot until the fatal wound was fired. >> reporter: williams and hipps have been charged with murder. at the 22 district where officer wilson was assigned a steady stream of people brought food and flowers paying respect to the 30-year-old father of two boys. >> we wanted to give on you condolences and say we appreciate the service. >> reporter: the department said officer wilson saved lives as customers and employees were inside the store. the shootout all captured on surveillance video. >> i've seen a lot of heroic

off a shot at a car. it all happened at 2nd and chestnut in old city around 2:30. they found the man shot in the leg. officers spotted a cargoing the wrong way on -- cargoing the wrong way on chestnut street. the officer shot at the car the car crashed into the fence the three suspects were taken into custody. a young man was shot in the back and killed in north philadelphia. the shooting happened after 2:00 a.m. on the 2100 block of west indiana avenue. the victim had no i.d. he died at temple university hospital. a broken sewage line caused a sinkhole in south jersey, officials say the compromised section of the sewage line was a

activists walked from selma to montgomery. we go to selma alabama with more on the commemorative events. ryan? >> reporter: go togood morning eva thousands are expected to hear president obama speak on the bridge that marks the 50th anniversary of this transformative moment in the civil rights movement. selma, alabama march 7 1965. what was supposed to be a nonviolent march for voting rights turned into bloody sunday. 600 demonstrators were met with state troopers armed with tear gas and guns. many were badly beaten, some hospitalized. they were led by civil rights activists.
