tomorrow evening as we spring ahead we'll lose an hour of sleep, but gain an hour back in sunlight tomorrow. we have a nice quiet stretch of weather coming up. and nice mild stretch of weather coming up. i'll have that when i step back inside. >> robert wilson's memory will be hours before his son's birthday. two men try to rob the game stop, officer wilson was in uniform by the register. knowing other customers were nearby he moved away from the register before he exchanged shots. >> he is moving back and forth firing at both suspects they were both firing at him. he was taking rounds he was actually being hit during the exchange of gunfire but continued to fight and shoot until the fatal wound was fired.

checked for clues jim's opened on north 62nd street in 1939. fire in whitman montgomery county as firefighters knocked down this fire, flames and smoke damaged the former johnson accounting office on dekalb pike. firefighters contended with ice forming on the roads and sidewalks. flames destroyed part of an apartment complex. the inferno ripped through two buildings in the woods edge apartment complex on the 1200 block of at terret hill drive in edgemore. the fire is under control the cause is being determined. police in western pennsylvania say a 13-year-old boy was beaten by his father and forced to stand in negative 3-degree cold without a jacket for an hour and half. it was punishment for trying to reach for a dollar for his lunch

money. the boy's father and stepmother are facing child endangerment charges. the step mom allegedly locked him out of the house. the boy felt disoriented and went to police, he is in child services custody. a commission formed after the 2012 sandy hook school massacre has released it's final report. he murdered 20 first graders 6 educators and workers before taking life. lanceet struggling withens and social problems for years. new volunteer search parties will be out this morning looking for a missing 13-year-old boy from newtown square. he left his home wednesday and hadn't been seen or heard from

a the woman's buttocks. a bus driver complained that someone stole $400 from her. she had been fired from the bus company. the jobless rate rows 1.5% that's up from 4.8%. the rate across the nation is gaining steam. the jobless rate fell from 5.7 to 5.5 but the robust numbers prompted fears of interest rate hikes and that caused investors to beat a hasty retreat on wall street. the dow lost 279 points. syracuse universities comes

>> new video on "action news," a helicopter heading to a missouri hospital has crashed. the chopper burst into flames after going down on the street. the pilot was the only person on board. the chopper was en route to pick up a medical crew. there's no indication on what may have cause the the crash. a highway in kentucky no longer looks like a parking lot. this was the scene on i-65 in

louisville yesterday. the national guard had to be called in to rescue drivers. it took two days for the drivers to get to their vehicles. a school district in maine will make up snow days by having students attend classes on saturday. boo, nobody like this. parents actually prefer to wipe out the easter break but too many vacations were already booked. >> reporter: everything was going along just fine through december and then -- >> i know we had no snow. >> reporter: there are 45 cities and towns over this winter so far that i have just gotten to alone that have set new temperatures records or snow records this winters season that's in the mid atlantic and the northeast. i have not gotten to the great lakes. it's been wow, what a season. we started out mild and the cold hit hard.

robbery. meanwhile, charges have been filed against the brothers accused of killing wilson. sharrie williams has all the details. >> reporter: balloons blowing in the wind candle lit all part of a small memorial at the shopping plaza where officer robert wilson iii was murdered. willie wilson came by the memorial to pay his respects. he has the same last name as the officer he planned to go to the plaza at the same time of the shooting, but changed his plans at the last minute. >> that could have been us in the store because we were going to come and get a game. >> reporter: officer wilson went inside the game stop at 21st and lehigh avenue shopping for a gift for his son who is birthday is monday. police say moments later two armed suspects, brothers, carlton hipps and ramon williams walked in and announced a holdup. officer wilson confronted the two caught in a raging gun battle. >> he is moving back and forth

head wound he suffered when he was knocked down. wisconsin law requires an outside agency to investigate officer-involved shootings. new this morning philadelphia police responding to a shooting ended up firing a shot at a car. it happened at 2nd and chestnut at 2:30. they found a man shot in the leg and officers found a car racing from the scene going the wrong way on chestnut street. he was ordered to stop, when that did not happen, the officer fired at the car the car crashed into a fence. the suspects were taken in for questioning. the officers are all right. the original shooting victim is in the hospital. a young man was shot in the back and killed in north philadelphia. police are looking for the gunman. the shooting happened after 2:00 on the 2100 block of west indiana avenue. police say the victim had no i.d. on him. he died at temple university hospital. a compromised sewage line

is being blamed for causing a sinkhole opening up in south jersey. the fault was discovered at the mom on columbus road in burlington. the compromised section of the sewage line was a couple of feet long, the family did not have to evacuate. a defiant new jersey nor bob menendez has commented about being under federal investigation and insists he is not going anywhere. a report surfaced that bob menendez could be indicted for federal corruption charges. he has been under scrutiny for his relationship with dr. salmon melgen. he is a big contributor to democrat also including bob menendez. bob menendez agreed to reimburse
