taken to the hospital. no word on their conditions. police have not said if they uncovered any motives or suspects. good morning, i'm nydia han along with eva pilgrim. >> breaking this one out of our delaware newsroom. a woman was hit by a hit-and-run driver by the university campus. she was run over while crossing the intersection of east delaware avenue in newark around 2:00 a.m. the university courtyard apartments are at that intersection. police have not identified the woman. investigators are working to identify the driver and the vehicle. delaware state police shot a man they say broken into the rite aid on naamans road in claymont. the suspect was critically wounded. we're learning to find out what happened before the suspect was shot stay with "action news" for an update on the police shooting in claymont, delaware.

saint martins church will take a collection for the family. the officer left behind two young boys. "action news" reporter, kenneth moten learned more about the officer's legacy from his sister and grandmom. >> reporter: officer wilson's grandmother heard initial reports and called her grand son, but she never got a response. the family thanked the community and the district and the police department for their support. we've only see this tough cop image of robert wilson. but those who knew him said he was always l always smiles. >> i loved him, i know he loved me. >> reporter: it was thursday when the 8 year veteran was killed in a gun battle with armed robbers at a game stop in philadelphia. his grandmother proud to hear how he had protected the employees and customers in the store.

things like that. just like yesterday it should be a nice quiet day. we have clouds up along the new york/pennsylvania state line. these snow showers up through here will pass on by the north. we won't see any precipitation out there today. overnight tonight there could flurries or sprinkles across the lehigh valley and points north but most of the day should be fine. the wider view shows this system here, both will join forces we'll see an area of low pressure develop out here, we'll get into a middle portion of the upcoming week. this low will work off the coast of the virginia. that could bring showers in the delaware valley tuesday tuesday night into the first part of wednesday. that's about it. most of the week is dry and very, very comfortable. these are high temperatures this afternoon, the model has us in the mid to upper 40s, from time

he left his home in newtown square. hundreds gathered to canvass neighborhoods and pass out flyers. the fbi has joined the law enforcement agencies and k-9 to search for him. >> although we have no reason to believe this has turned into a criminal investigation. never theless, we have inintensified our efforts. >> the family said he has never runaway and he does not have his cell phone wall let on him. if you have seen him call police immediately. police are looking for two robbers who assaulted two grocery store workers. the action cam was on north 5th street in olney. two men entered the grocery store and attacked two employees, one was taken to einstein medical center. police are working to get a description of the suspects.

philadelphia police department i want to say we got your backs. we got your backs enough is enough. >> reporter: officer moses walk also of the 22nd district was fatally shot when he was walking home in 2012. when she heard the news her heart sunk. wilson was gunned down in a game stop store. the father was buying a present for his son. >> i was at home and heard that a police officer was shot. >> reporter: they held a brief prayer service outside the district and brought the officers lunch asking what's next to make the violence stop. the group under the community to offer support to the men and women protecting them. >> what are we going to do? another prayer vigil? another walk, what are we going

lacrosse team in new york they will boycott the other team because they find the mascot offensive. they canceled their game against the lancaster redskins. the day comes days after the heated community debate. they consider the name a racial slur. >> they look at the term as it's offensive and derogatory to native americans. the lancaster school district is debating whether to come up with a new moss scott. some who oppose a change say it's not racism. it enengenders a sense of honor and pride. it's # years since a college student was gunned down outside a nightclub now his mother is coming to you for answers. rick williams has the report.

>> reporter: on saturday september 21 2009, luis was talking to his mother at her home in camden. sometime that night that girlfriend called garcia. his girlfriend called him and said that -- >> reporter: after 2:00 a.m. on sunday, the police were called to the scene for shots fired. >> the bar was letting out and there was a massive amount of people when shots rang out and louis garcia was shot. >> reporter: garcia died from his wounds,s an arrest was made, but deserves say he did not kill garcia. he was charged with a weapon's offense, he fired the gun but he was not the one who shot and killed louis garcia. >> reporter: the citizens crime

>> we have breaking news from vineland, new jersey, the action cam was on the 100 block of west grape street early this morning where one person was shot dead and two others wounded. the victims were sitting in a parked car after midnight when someone walked up to the vehicle and opened fire. the gunman ran off. one person was pronounced at the scene. the other shooting victims were taken to the hospital. there is no word on their conditions. so far police have not said if they uncovered any motives or suspects. i'm nydia han along with eva pilgrim. it is 7:00 a.m. this sunday morning, the clocks moved up an hour overnight. >> a young woman was hit by a hit-and-run driver near the university of delaware campus. the woman was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. run over while crossing the intersection of east delaware avenue and south chapel street in newark around 2:00 a.m.
