highway. >> embattled comedian bill cosby addresses his fans about the scandal that plagued him for months. a close call for a family in south jersey. partly of their home clamsed last night while the family was inside. >> it happened on lime street, the entire front of the home came crashing down leaving the front door. the family got out safely. annie mccormick has the details. >> reporter: take a look at what is left behind inside at the time there were four family members including a toddler. they say they are lucky they are alive, but now they have nowhere to go. this is the scene after 11:00 when the brick facade in the camden home tumbled to the ground. three adults and a toddler were inside.

>> my dad heard a swish and next thing you know he can see the streets. >> reporter: the four got out safely. he had his two children in the car on a food run. >> it cover dead. >> reporter: he is thankful but frustrated. they have owned the house since the 80 and once the home next-door was demolished the home had structural issues. >> they had three fires and the city had to demo it and the owners died and it became a crack house and it burnt down and they tore it down. >> reporter: this past week they got an ultimate come from the city, fix the house or move out. the estimate he received to make the repairs cost upwards of $40,000. then this happened, their worst fear. >> i'm not sure, i'm definitely

not sure they would have anywhere else to go. >> reporter: overnight the police protected the belongings inside. the city moved cars next-door and brought out the board up crew and teams to assess the damage. then they will decide if and when they demolish the home. it's still not safe for the family to go inside to get their belongings including meld that his mother needs. in the short term they are getting assistance from the red cross. annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." >> resident also -- residence of an apartment building were force to leave in east mount airy. the brick crumpled near the bottom of the buildings. there's an investigation into what caused the buildings to collapse. residents were told to leave as

a precaution. fire destroyed a historic inn in delaware county in sergeantsville hunterdon county overnight. when they arrived on the scene the flames were shooting from the inn. the buildings was a private home and converted to an inn. smoke portland out of a complex in cumberland county. the action cam was on the scene in millville before 3:00 a.m. fire officials say oxygen tanks used for medical reasons fanld the flames on the upper floors. one home was destroyed by the fire. 13 people were displaced and helped by the red cross. meanwhile, the cause is under investigation. a truck that plunged into the frozen water in toms river last week was removed today. chopper 6hd was high above as divers and other rescuers used

huge air bags to lift the truck out of the water. the driver drove out on the ice and began spinning in circles. he and the passenger got out before the truck broke through the water. police found a dead dog inside the driver and passenger turned themselves into authorities for questioning. during to the weather it's a nice change in pace from the frigid temperatures and all the snow. sky6 live hd taking a live look at penns landing and the delaware river we're getting a break from mother nature. the ice breaking up, the mild temperatures will allow the snow to melt, but there's a chance for more precipitation to move into the delaware valley and lehigh valleys in the week ahead. meteorologist david murphy is over at the "action news" bird with all the details. >> reporter: first things first it is a beautiful arch. we afternoon, we had morning clouds, but they are breaking up. we may transition to mostly to

davis. vernon odem is live outside the criminal justice center in center city with more on the case. >> reporter: torres the prosecution said is a career criminal with a lengthy rap sheet for drugs and assault and battery. they said he should not have been free on the street in 2013. jury deliberations resume in the case of eric torres on trial for 2013 wounding a policeman he had world dairches inside a gross -- davis inside a feltonville grocery store. davis and two others officer were struggling to subdue torres after they chased him from fleeing. torres faces drug charges here. davis a 6-year veteran was wounded. he is still in rehab unable to resume his job. torlz was fails down with his -- face down with his handles under

regardless of race. a key provision of the voting rights act was struck down in 2013. there's backlash in oklahoma this afternoon for a racial chant. the video shows fraternity members chanting a racial slur on the bus. a black student union group obtained the recording and posted it online. the university president called the video disgraceful and joined students for a campus protest. he denounced the people in the video and said they do not represent the university. >> the fraternity's national headquarters called the video

unacceptable and embarrassing. >> an award-winning dog died days after competing and the owner suspect she was poisoned. jagger collapsed and died the day afterng at the prestigious dog show. the owners are devastated by the death. there are no suspects. a disturbing find into the report of the malaysia flight 370. the data flight battery recorder expired a year before the plane's disappearance. despite an exhaustive search there's been no trace of the plane so far.

predawn, but it's gone. as we look outside we have the action cam out earlier 589 rittenhouse square. we started out earlier with clouds and since then we've seen the sun thin out the clouds. at some point, i think some of you will change over to mostly sunny skies 52 degrees in philadelphia. winds not all that strong at 10 miles per hour and your barometer is on the rise that's a good sign. so we're heading into good territory this afternoon. still 44 in allentown. cooler there. 47 in reading, 48 in trenton. 53 in millville. up to 54 in atlantic city we're adding two or three degrees to the current numbers before we are done today. winds out of the west, they are starting to turn out of the north not all that strong. this is dry air coming down from the north that's why the clouds which were thicker earlier are thinning out and we're getting brighter and brighter out there that's the way it stays for the

majority of the afternoon. in allentown i'm calling it partly sunny that's with the understanding we may kick the clouds out over the next couple of hours. 47 is the high temperature. it's coat weather. down the shore 56 degrees, sunny and pleasant. atlantic city, partly sunny skies you may have to hang on to the cloud cover down south. in philadelphia, partly to mostly sunny skies seasonable high of 54 degrees, winds light 6 to 12 miles per hour. out of the southwest, the west and out of the north. tonight, winds die down. we drop to 33 degrees, clouds increase and generally speaking it's going to be on the cold side tonight. for the evening commute not too bad. under partly cloudy skies 52 degrees by 4:00 p.m. 5:30 holding on to temperatures close to 50. we drop off quickly after sundown. 7:00 p.m. we're down to 43 degrees, tomorrow we start out with a fair amount of clouds and then it just gets thicker as
