firefighters are hurt after an accident on the job this morning. >> there ladder came into contact with power lines after a fire in north philadelphia. vernon odem is at the hospital where the firefighters are being treated at this hour. we begin david henry at the scene where they were injured. >> reporter: sayer ra, first the -- sarah first the good news the injuries are non-life threatening. an investigation is underway. the fire was out and the firefighters were breaking down an aluminum ladder when it hit the power line. we talked with a witness who saw it happened. >> the fireman was the only one holding it, his body stiffed and he fell right back. it was unbelievable sight. >> reporter: it is not clear where the second injured firefighter was at the time. the other firefighters immediately started administering first aid before medics arrived and rushed both men to temple university

hospital. the fire started around 9:30 a.m. and was declared under control 7 minutes later. around 10:00 a.m. the firefighters started breaking down the scene and removing a ladder to the second floor. it came in contact with a 7600 volt power line. >> he went from holding the ladder to dropping down to the side of his body and he passed out. >> reporter: investigators are on the scene to find out what went wrong. firefighters are given extensive training to operate around power line. >> members are taught to look up and be aware of overhead obstructions, especially irs wires. >> reporter: the department said others would have close by helping. >> the size of the ladder 35-foot ladder requires 2 to 3 members lowering the laureled. so there was more than one person lowering the ladder. >> reporter: the investigation

is just now underway, they are still trying to sort out who was doing what at the time, but the good news, the firefighters non-life threatening injuries. live in north philadelphia david henry channel 6 "action news." >> let's switch live to "action news" report, vernon odem with more on the firefighters conditions at temple university hospital. >> reporter: we are outside the temple university hospital emergency room right behind me. if you look down the street. several colleagues have arrived here that's engine 249 and that's ladder 249 and there's an engine truck parked up the street. many have come in to check on their conditions to see how they are doing. they are being treated for shock after they were injured at the fire scene this morning. they were rushed after the aluminum numb ladder made contact -- aluminum ladder made contact with the power line.

their injuries were not exploded, they are not considered life threatening as david report. the fire commissioner is inside checking on their condition. both men are family men and veterans. fire department and people are very optimistic and happy about their potential recovery and concerned about how the accident happened this morning. here live at the scene it's not a frenzied scene this morning and that tells us and what we've heard inside they are in stable condition and the injuries are not considered life threatening. whether they are burns or straight shock or both we do not know at this hour, burr we are expecting some -- but we are expecting some word officially from the fire department shortly, vernon odem channel 6 "action news." >> to other news, now a new jersey teacher is in police custody charged with invasion of privacy.

adam mayr is an english teacher at the high school of technology in deptford township. students alerted school officials he was arrested on friday. he he faces 27 counts of invasion of privacy and official misconduct. school officials tell us he is is on paid leave. a man is in custody for allegedly shooting his neighbor in upper darby. swat teams responded to 2200 block of hrawood avenue. he fired five shots at his neighbor. he struck the victim in the shoulder. peco had to cut power on one side of the street. police entered the home around 1:00 a.m. and took him into custody. two people were hurt during an early-morning fire in

northeast philadelphia. flames were shooting from the home on brook view road at 1:30. one firefighter was treated for heat another man was stone to the hospital for smoke inhalation. officials say he was in the basement of the home when the fire started. the man charged with shooting two police officers in ferguson missouri is expected in court. police say jeffrey williams said he was firing at somebody else. else charged with first degree assault and firing a weapon from a vehicle. else being held on # hundred thousand dollars bond the shooting during a protest hours after the police chief resign. millionaire robert duster will be sent back to los angeles to face charges for allegedly murdering his friend 15 years ago. he made what appears to be a chilling confession during an documentary that aired last night. mar marcie gonzalez has the

recorded. it wasn't until two years later that an editor discovered and handed it over to police. lapd credited the warrant to disicial evidence that has come to light in the past year. >> we don't have that kind of power. >> reporter: the 71-year-old was taken into saturday at this new new orleans hotel where he was registered under a fake name and fake documents. the fbi believe he was flying to cuba. his attorney said he was seeking privacy. >> he is not running from the charges. >> reporter: he was in court in new orleans he will be brought back to los angeles where they will fight the capital murder charge. back to you. >> durst has tie also to the region. he -- ties to the region.

officially on friday, we're getting a preview today with temperatures improving through the afternoon. there are holes in the clouds and we're getting sunshine through. some of the thicker cloud cover is on the way that will come in later on during the afternoon hours. temperatures are beginning to bounce back from morning lows in the 30s. 45 in philadelphia. 50 in millville. 44 in trenton. with a warm avection pattern, we have warmer air to add to the numbers later this afternoon. this afternoon we're looking for a high around 60. if we fall short of it, we'll be above the average high of 53. 45 is the overnight low which is on the mild side. as we look at temperatures, it will be a while before we can get rid of the mild air there's a big chunk of it that's extending back to saint louis and kansas and beyond. what's going to happen during

who connected with operators in brooklyn. they got the address and broke through the door. doctors are not sure what caused her to pass out. authorities say rookie officer henry solice, since police identified him as a person of interest in the shooting death of a 23-year-old. investigators believe they got into a fight prior to shooting. he was off duty at the time. a car belonging to him was found sunday a few blocks away from where the shooting happened. ten thousand american troops will likely stay in afghanistan well into 2016. that's nearly twice the number the obama administration planned to have there near the end of the year. he said he would consult u.s. forces to 5500 there. military leaders wanted to keep more troop there to provide training to afghanistan forces.

live hd looking at the battleship new jersey. when we were taking the pictures a couple of minutes ago there was sun. temperatures up to 45 degrees with room for improvement. winds, west, southwest. 45 in philadelphia. 46 in wilmington. millville, 50. 42 in allentown and 46 in wildwood, new jersey. as we taking a look at the wind profile, winds are not that all that strong and stay not all that strong, but they have started to shift from the west anne beginning to turn from the southwest. there's milder air down there that's why we think we're only at 45 now over the next 4 or 5 hours we have a chance of shooting up closer to 60 degrees for the afternoon high. it's not that unpleasant out there now, give the fact we have the light wind. you can see the darker shades of gray in the clouds. that's thin enough cloud coffer to get the sunshine through and even the brighter shade of white
